Has the screen slid down on you? Push it up with a chopstick.
I'm not sure if it moved, but I did push it up some. Didn't seem to make a difference, in fact it seemed to make it worse. I just use the nylon stem because it gets closest to the heat.

Different outlets, extension cord added or removed, different strains. Slower longer pull, milkshake suck (wa-wa).
Hoping for a break though. Pushing up made abv yellower? (worse?)

This thread feels like home and it makes me smile :)

Well you're all part of the UD family so that makes sense.. :)

Bought the UD a few months ago and I've been loving it. However, I am not using a VVPS (on my list, will just be awhile until I get around to getting one) and I'm wondering if my unit is faulty or if I'm doing something wrong. My avb is brownish-yellow and is only that dark if I use the nylon stem. If I use the glass stem it barely turns brown. I've tried changing draw length and how hard I draw but neither one seems to help/hurt.

I also know that I should grind my green a little finer, right now I'm using a standard grinder with standard results. Are there any "home" remedies for this? I know coffee grinders work well, but again, its on the list but won't be buying for awhile.

As a side note, sometimes the unit will be hot, almost too hot to touch. This doesn't worry me, but it makes me think that the unit is working fine and my grind is the issue? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated guys! Love my unit but I want it to take me to the moon, instead of just making me feel good.

Hi @Misguided1 - hard to say whether you're experiencing a problem or something else. It's possible that you have a slightly cool running heating element but it's also possible it's a screen/grind/strain/technique or power issue.

The heat level of the vape is optimized for the Nylon Stems so it makes sense that you get your darkest results with that, the glass stems tend to run cooler and more airy at a given voltage. That being said it does sound like you should be getting slightly darker results with the Nylon.

If you want to send it in we would be happy to check it out and see what's up and if we can 'bam' it's temp up a notch for you. If you want to do that just send us a PM or email and we'll get you squared away. :peace:

From redwood lace burl blank I ordered from @Snappo I was able to get an AromaDog/UnderDog, UD/Nano WonG, Solo WonG, Ed's multi tool and a gorgeous stand!!

The beautiful accessories were made by Ed @@Ed's TnT. The ud/nano WonG is perfect. I originally had it made for my nano, even though its a tight fit it still supports my pup. Ed's Ti dabber/poker is a great tool to have on hand for sure! I always find myself using it for just about any and every job. The stand fits my UD's or Nano's, which is great and has 3 spots for stems/WonG's to be held.

Then we have the pup! @@underdogand @@underdogette have created another master piece!!! She is beautiful and matches well with her accessories. Also she's a milk machine!! I think she runs a litte bit hotter than my BuckeyeDog which is perfect and what I was hoping for. As far as the essential oils for the AromaDog go, it's simply heaven!

Well here are a couple pics that don't do her any justice.

It's a very small percent of UD users who have pieces that run too cool or too hot (about even amounts of both).. I think it's in the range of 5% if memory serves. That's right in line with the +/- tolerance of the heating elements so isn't too surprising I suppose. Statistically speaking you'll almost certainly be alright and good to go right out of the box. If you find yourself on the 'bad' side of those tolerance-odds it can be corrected with a VVPS or quick return trip for us to adjust it so pretty good odds either way.

@NickDlow - Thanks for sharing the pics man. That's an awesome Redwood Burl setup you have there!

Same here my pnwt is used %90 of time with my dog, It probably does have something to do with receiving both at the same time, But i look at it as another stem for my logs.

I saw my dog glow red inside last night, guess I can't use my VVPS anymore (Had it at what said 11.0, I guess not). It still runs great on the plain ol wall wart, now exclusively using with the UFO.

Hmmm.. what VVPS are you running @paytonpenn? It's not unheard of to have a very faint glow from a heating element but usually not until you're into voltage territory behind 13v. Not to say it's a good thing but not unheard of. Sounds like your VVPS might be putting out more than the indicated voltage. :o

I'm pretty sure its done for, @CentiZen 's Mini-VVPS.

Voltage just continuously rises. I'm normally on 13.4v but have been unable to get the VVPS to function consistently and remain at the same voltage, everything has been tried it was working perfect then messes up, repeat. I did probably run it more than it should have been.

I was pretty sure it was the incorrect voltage, I stopped using it once I saw the orange light glowing out of the core. Reminded me of the Firewood. 11v is pretty low temp vaping for me, I barely feel satisfied from the temperatures at 12v. But even at 13.7v I don't see a orange light, it was clearly time to put the VVPS away.

I'm really sorry for the troubles Payton, I've never had anything like this happen in the past and as far as I am aware it shouldn't even be possible. I'll pay for return shipping to get this back to look at - could you PM me when you get a chance?

My dog should be at my house tomorrow. Im hoping it comes on time becuase were supposed to get skmething like 15 inches on tuesday. Good stoney testing conditions. I gotta question. Why do most UD owners like to run it 24/7. Is it becuase of the long heat up time? Woudnt the vapes lifespan be much longer if you only ran it lets say 12 hours a day and shut it off over night?

I have an EQ and was always scared to run it more than like 4 hours than found this forum and saw people leave it on all day.

I leave mine on 24/7 all day, every day. It is ALWAYS ready whenever I am. Morning, noon, and night. The lifespan probably would be extended at half the use, but I'm over a year in with no issue. These things are not easy to kill. Plus, with the amount I conserve, it has already paid for itself a few times.

If I had a pretty rigid schedule, and knew I wouldn't need it during certain times, I might buy a timer. I believe they are designed to run 24/7 now, but same as everything, the less use, the longer the lifespan.

Now that I think about it, I rarely shut off any of my electronics.

Yes, it will extend the life of your vape by not running it all the time. Some UD owners put them on a timer (you know those super cheap outlet timer things) to automatically have them running during usage times. Other UD owners use a VVPS to drastically reduce the heat up time. You can run it 24/7 though if you like, and you should be fine if you choose.
