Most containers for ISO are made from plastic. I can't imagine that would be the case if there was any real interaction between them.
There are many types of plastic, and they are not created equal.
Isopropyl alcohol comes in a very specific type of plastic bottle for a reason.

I'm not saying it is only compatible with one type of plastic(that wouldn't be true), but I am saying that it is for sure not compatible with a lot of types of plastic.

i used to clean my tv-rev in the plastic tube it came in, with everclear. that worked great.

Is anyone else having this issue? For some reason I keep losing efficiency in kiss carts used in the okeanos. Starts off fine and over 10+ uses starts to give weak clouds. If I take the cart out of the base it works perfectly and I get slightly burnt giant hits, like the wick is super saturated or something. This is the second kiss cart its happened to and I'm not sure what the deal is. It's not like the carts get damaged, they just seem to permanently work less well with the okeanos over time. An iso soak for the cart can reset it and make it work well again, but eventually that stopped helping on the cart it came with. I'm going to soak my okeanos base and see if that helps. Also going to try it on the core, I mainly use it with my omicron lite so maybe that's a thing.

That's what I thought, which is why I asked about the KISS mouthpieces. I am noticing very small grooves and scratches in the mouthpiece, around where the O-ring is. It looks like from removing and inserting the mouthpiece into the upper part of the KISS.

I can see some of the plastic that has been scratched off, it is stringy. I found a couple of very small strings of plastic that didn't completely break off of the mouthpiece.

I wonder if this is from weakening the plastic...weird.

I've had the same issues as you. My theory (and of course I could be wrong) is that there is not enough air flow (oxygen) in the Okeanos chamber. Over time the bottom center air hole get a bit blocked with material and vapor production goes down. To test this I have unscrewed the chamber piece, allowing airflow that way and it produced huge clouds. In my experience, the kiss carts from my unproductive Okeanos is fine. Im able to get satisfactory draws by themselves on any w9 battery. Recently I tried a kiss mini in the Okeanos and it works great so far (about a week of use). Im not sure if the kiss mini allows more airflow or what. It does not fit without using rings to extend the chamber height. Yesterday I purchased a stainless steel tube cutter and cut a kiss mini down at tad so it fits without unsightly o rings.

I get a slightly different reading on the tester with and without the Okeanos base (2.4 with, 2.24 without:

Fits great after trimming the kiss mini:

Can you fix the okeanos-ed cart by hitting one upside down for a few seconds?

As far as mouthpieces go:
I don't have an official word on this, but I'd always suspected the reason the mouthpiece isn't supposed to be submerged was due to the O-ring. But, maybe I'm wrong, and the reason it can't be soaked is because that type of plastic isn't safe to be submerged.

Thank Jebus! My V4 top and replacement Okeanos base are waiting for me at home. It's been almost 3 weeks!
@StormyPinkness My Okeanos eventually stopped providing any power to the carts at all. If I screwed the cart straight into the Persei it would work fine. I'm not sure what the problem was, they just sent me a new base plate.

Please updates us on your findings. I like my okeanos a lot! Always looking to improve my experience with it.

@StormyPinkness & @ED421 can either of you post pictures of the threads on the base plate of the okeanos it sounds like there may be some buildup or oxidization id consider trying a bath in vinegar to remove oxidation but this is only based on metalwork i used to do as i do not currently own an okeanos but tit sounds like a bad electrical connection ive seen caused by oxidation in the past

Per the parts I underlined and made bold, you probably already found your culprit. If you are seeing scratches and scraped plastic, it would most likely be caused by friction when inserting and removing the mouthpiece.

Could be a rough spot/burr where the mouthpiece goes in the cart, or could be due to tolerances you got one with a slightly too tight of fit.

Anybody use the nibbler GN? Looks nice. Can I just use my hercules without the mouthpiece and black outer core? If not, I will just buy the nibbler xl. Thanks for any input.

I already sent mine back to be replaced so no pics. I wasn't sure if I could soak the base completely but I did try and clean all the contacts with ISO but it didn't help.

@BradEllis I think you may have your carts mixed up. The long, thin carts that need a fill tool to load are the old school EO or Essential Oil carts. Those aren't titanium and are extremely outdated. Nowadays, the Persei comes with the KISS carts instead, which are a load as you go style. You don't need a fill tool, just drop some oil in and vape away. Here's a link to the titanium cart you were looking for. http://www.w9tech.com/titanium-gr2-kiss-cartridge-vaporizer/

IME, the problem with ordering from retailers as opposed to W9 directly is that the retailers are out of step with the W9 tech innovations. W9 doesn't support the double tops anymore and the fill tool cartridges have been eclipsed by the KISS. W9 is innovating faster than the retailers can keep up, IMO.

I see scratches on all of my mouthpieces around the O-Ring. Is this not normal?

I have also soaked all of them in ISO. Could that cause them to scratch out easily?

Nice, I'm going to try this out to see whether it's the airflow or buildup like other posters said. Well I guess buildup could restrict airflow. I'll try putting it on my tester also just to see if there's an issue there. Thanks dude.

I'll take some pics tonight and then really put it under a light and see if there's any buildup. Otherwise I'll soak it in iso and test it.

I was debating between the nibbler g and gn and @elmoe420 said he had both and preferred the g. I think he said the gn got water in his mouth easier and rotated on you if you don't use 2 hands.

It's true. You should always apply common sense.
Rigid plastics generally lack the plasticizers that would be solvent in alcohol and diffusion would take a long time. Keep away from stuff like vinyl or PVC.

it really is. i was impressed w. the ease of drawing air through it. that + how small it is at 3.7 is why im sticking with that for now and my sr74x is gonna gain dust.. i have the 3.7 rod for it but its just too big.

Get the 7.4 rod for the hercules 74x and then you have two options. Smooth hits at 3.7, lung busters at 7.4. I find the taste identical, REALLY GOOD!
