I've been contemplating a little vaping first thing in the morning to see if it makes my AM workout less agonizing, but I'm kind of worried it'll just make my weight bench and yoga mat really, really comfortable.... My anti-depressants have made getting motivated really difficult, but a morning vape-me-up might be just the thing to make it suck less.

I find that vaping enhances my cardio and anaerobic workouts, especially where workout music is concerned. The trick for me is not to vape and wait. If I vape and immediately start the workout its all good otherwise I may loose my drive and find my couch instead. I also find that after I've completed the vape-cardio I'm super charged but after vape-weights I'm ready for some couch lock.

daily, but the amount varies by day. when I'm free/vacations I'll often start with a wake&bake, and if not I start vaping shortly after breakfast.

but on a regular weekday like today I don't vape anything until I'm home from my last lecture/class of the day, when I get home I usually turn on the vape immediatly, make something quick to eat, make a cup of coffee and then relax with vape&coffee.
then when I'm relaxed enough I'll start preparing dinner.

Doing yoga high is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world, so I highly recommend giving it a shot, @Eschient

Well, maybe the less demanding yoga is a good idea. Just relaxation and unwinding.

My wife is a yoga fanatic, and wannabe instructor. When my back/shoulder/neck/knees are up to it she tries to coach me through some of the 'less demanding' poses. It's all good til there is a pop. I've not tried it vaped tho - usually using concentrates after the pop, but before might be just the thing! One can learn a lot in the forums :)

I find that doing my yoga while vaped allows me to actually focus on form, feeling, breathing, etc., and I'm LESS likely to hurt myself while MORE likely to perform each move/pose correctly.

I'm also better at kettlebell swings while toked up ;)

On a psychological level, I was having a few "deep stoner thoughts"... if you read lists of "what weed does to you", one of the things mentioned is "magical thinking".

Well, my dear friends, first off, who DOESN'T engage in "magical thinking"? Every single sports fan who wore a jersey during the past few weeks (and who will continue to do so...)... well, THAT is magical thinking. Stuff like that. Plus, believing in faeries, dragons, werewolves, etc., as I understand it, is indicative of "magical thinking". Divination, too.

Sure.

Anyway, I generally have a healthy (unhealthy?) dose of "magical thinking" in my "normal, sober" state. I think OCD is definitely a symptom of the same root that expresses "magical thinking"... in other words, my actions/the state of tangible objects/the way things are done will somehow affect some unconnected person/object.

If I don't say, "drive carefully, be safe!" as my hubby goes out the door, he might have an accident. I MUST say these words to protect him.

So, back to cannabis. When I use cannabis, it STOPS magical thinking. I recognize it. It amuses me, sure... but I can see it, and I can push it aside, and NOT do "incantations" to "protect" everyone/thing. I have more logic in my thinking, with a lot less distractions. I wander down the magical path a bit less, and I'm more aware when I hit that path.

It could be due to neuro-diverseness, ASD, whatever... but for me, if using "heavy" means frequency, then yes, I'm almost always using. If it means how MUCH you use, I use very little, micro dabs, tiny flower hits, all through the day, to keep my mind clear/sharp, and my pain at bay.

Anyhow, I have a Shit-ton of inflammation today, all the way up into my sinuses... so, I'm really toasted... and I'm having another fucking hotflash... so, back to the vape!

you mean, like, quantum entanglement? Einstein had a problem wrapping his head around this concept, me, on the other hand, i love magical thinking. i find reality is surreal anyway, what's a few incantations here or there, eh?

I was just about to go cold turkey, or at least slow down enough to get me into the 'soccer mom' category for a few minutes, but my doc just bumped my scrip to 3.5g/day, so will leave it where it is... Time to get more medible recipes and experiment. Feel free to pm me with any faves! (Maybe there is a thread full of 'fave medible recipes for diabetics' already out there?)

When my uncle was ill with pancreatic cancer in the 70s my cousin started growing for him on their ranch. My uncle had problems smoking it, so he would fire up his wood stove and put a big handful of buds, from the garbage bag full behind the door, and drop them on the stove, filling his cabin with what I now think was a sort of vape experience, at least until it would combust on the stovetop.

I only know this because my mom took me there for a visit. I was 9 and didn't know why my uncle was sitting in a smoke-filled cabin with a great big smile on his face. My cousin told me what was going on a few years later...

Killick - Please be careful if the possibility of getting hurt (the pop) is higher for you than normal folk. Getting vaped before exercise allows me to relax into it but it will also mask some of the pain/soreness. The benefit of relaxing into it for me means my breathing may be nicely synchronized and the extra relaxation will allow me to stretch easier and not tense up. But the other side of that is you may feel so good that you go to far. Please start off slowly. Your wife may view your relaxation as a sign she should help bend you into the Yoganidrasana/Yoga Sleep Pose :o

I gotta dispute the 'causes magical thinking' bit. In my previous career as a researcher and in my current one in the law, the sharpest, most critical, least magical thinking people I know and knew are the stoners. Even in my occultist days, the stoners were more likely to be the skeptics than the believers.

When it comes to this stuff, i think cannabis just emphasizes who you are. So if you have a tendency to think magically, you will do it more when stoned; if you have a tendency to highly critical, empirically-driven logical thinking, that will increase when you vape.

In my psychedelic period I had more magical thinking. But personally herb helps my hypothesis-testing and critical thinking skills.

A major differentiator in volume consumed, IMHO, is whether you do the edible thing or not. When I do edibles, I need an order of magnitude more than when I just vape.

With edibles- easily an 1/8th or more a day workdays, 1/4 on weekends
No edibles, just vaping - maybe a gram a day on workdays; weekends 2 grams a day
These are flower weights. When using BHO or shatter:
1/5 a gram a day workdays. Weekends up to 1/2 gram a day. More when dabbing, less when using concentrates in an EVO or PnP or with a VHW.

According to the test results, the forum is full of superheroes!! :p
We have taken out our light swords and we're throwing spells at each other :D :p

I must admit that I'm pretty 'fresh' to the whole 'vape-magic' part. Although its been long since I knew about it, I only got my very 1st Lotus vaporizer ever, a week ago. Myself am a daily user, normally after work in the weekdays; preferably before nap time and a bit more baked&spaced in the w/ends.
With the normal J's I dare to say that I could go up 2 2-3g/day on a w/end, when with friends even more. Luckily for me, a friend of mine has been changing vaporizers and inhalators for some time till he found Lotus. And there was when I really understood the power of vaping! And to cut the story short, coz Ive been fuming some nice solid and looking around the net to find more info on the lotus vaporizer and some nice "transformations" for it that I came across, and that's how I found this wonderful wonderful site/forum, my numbers have been reduced. Nowadays, a stoner day would be with 0.5 top and a normal-afterwork-one 0.3g. Huge change and taste and buzz..!Next thing to do is to buy some nice glass pipe and a nice water one as well! I'm "jealous" of my friend's ones and I can't wait to have my own.

Overall, I'd say that it's all about vapor!! And btw, could anyone please tell me if it's ok to put some cotton on the lotus bowl so that u burn the solid flawlessly?

Wow, sorry for the long post. I must admit I got over excited that I found an online anti-combustion/ vaporizing community! :D :D

I love a sativa before I take a bike ride, but the heart rate is a little high. Indica is easier on the heart rate but I feel the urge to quit early  The rush afterwards is incredible.

Been pretty consistant 0.3gr a day after work through the evening. Weekends same schedule. Im on a 2.5 hour rotation with the Crafty. Sundays I break out reclaim oil for the longer experience.

Thanks for the reminder! My wife is over-protective of my injuries already, which is just another reason why she is so great :) She is very gentle with these glorified stretches, and shows me alternate ways to try some that are causing concerns or issues. I'm so scared of the random popping now that I can be over cautious myself, but some days you just need to push it a little bit. The worst that happens is I'm flat out and heavily medicated, and she has to walk the dog herself - the joys of disability...

Perhaps on the sliding scale established in this thread we need something beyond "big-ass stoner". Like maybe "Kardashian-ass stoner".

Wear that one proudly, @killick. You're welcome. :p

Gadz - the size of my prescription is gonna break the interwebs :)

Fwiw I've had the same pain doc for some time now. She helped me get started with mm and vaping, encouraged medibles, and knows that concentrates have been excellent with breakthrough pain. Prior to this she knows that I spent 7 months hospitalized (Off and on over the course of a year) due to a suspect allergic reactions to Celebrex and Codeine, or the two things that helped me to ditch the cane and walk somewhat normally again. It's been a long few years, but the last year has been a good one.

So, to help me help myself, I now have a decent scheduled supply. I consider myself very lucky to live where I live, and to have a treatment team as good as I do. I wish that many more people had access to the things that can make life a much more pleasant experience. I have an idea of where I'd be without these meds, and I'm glad I'm not there.

Wow, that's some resounding support for the pre-workout vaping. I totally didn't expect that. I had been thinking that rearranging my entire routine might help, but I didn't want to start getting up earlier. Now I'm really motivated to give it a shot. I guess Monday morning we try a whole new morning routine, hehe. Thanks everyone!
