I assume this has nothing to do with Richard Gere...

I have heard/read the expression several times regarding the Solo but don't know what it means. A little help?

Yeah, I know that was a Gerbil anyway...

I believe it typically refers to using the bent Solo stem upside down, preventing the herb from touching the floor of the heater. Thereby giving the impression of a hamster drinking from a water bottle/dispenser

Upside down Solo is exactly what it is, but you can Hamster with the straight stem as well. My opinion is that it tastes better to me, but that's my opinion. I Hamster my HI also. Try it and decide for yourself if it works for you. Some people don't care for the technique.

That's called "Gaggin' the Hamster" and that happens when I've been hitting the stem for far too long...
