hey there,

just wanted to give an update on the mighty and my opinion about it. i finally recieved a working unit on the 01/09, and i am really in love this thing! tastewise and how to operate it. the filling aid is really great. but after about 9 days in use, i have the "next" problem. it started with the mighty showing "err 004" near the end of a session(looked for "err 004" in the manual and was like :uhh: fuck), when it got pretty hot. but not hotter than it was before, i guess. after while of cooling the unit down, i turned it on again and it seemed to work fine again. so i keept on using it til "err 004" appeared a second time, a day later. long stoy short...after talking to S&B they advised me to send it in for the so called "recalibration". and i must say, by all thats great about the mighty, that this really sucks. buying a vape at this prize and have to deal with these flaws. i know my ssv is not that hightech so its not that compareable, but it works and i never had a problem with it in about 4 years of heavy daily use. the mighty did this in less than 10 days  i hope they get these things sorted out. i don't want to have to send the mighty in on a regular basis for "recalibration". so would i buy the mighty again? at this point i think not. i would just accept the restricted drawn on the solo(which was my main reason for getting the mighty) and stick with it or any other more reliable vape. but to be honest...i had to send my solo in three times as well. :-) seems i'm not that lucky with these things. but at least i got the newest solo with the last replacement. =)

That sounds like a real pain! My Mighty has been good to me so far. But the more complicated and 'techy' these vapes or any product gets, there is more of a chance of a problem. At this price point it's very annoying to deal with I'm sure. I hope you're luck is better in the future

Mine has not missed a beat since I got it around 2 months ago. I put around 5 or 6 full bowls through it every single day.

The flavor and density of hits, coupled with the really fast heatup time and the fact that it keeps delivering hit after hit, make it the best portable on the market for my money.

Yes, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for, and that includes aftersales service.

Hi all...it is my first entry :)
My Mighty has a problem with reaching the demanded temperature. He lasts it slowly and doesn't often vibrate.
I am waiting for the response from the Storz & Bickel.

That happened to me too, where it floats around the desired temp, even hitting the temp and not buzzing. It happens only during the start from cold, but vibrates all the time if I change the temp higher mid session. Mine works great when it's clean and the batteries are near max capacity. I am not sure I want to deliver my unit in until someone says that the problem is fixed.

Sense, please let us know what S&b says.

UNLOCKING "error 004"

ok, I had a "error 004" warning for a second a few weeks ago..... that with 2 battery bars while I was hitting.
it did not came up again until yesterday. I read some pages back that this happens with low battery @ 1-2 bars , so I charged @3 bars usually to delay this....

yesterday, again at 2 bars, was idle @200C...... but this time it stuck with "error 004" on the display.

nothing helped to make it work again..... cooling it, pushing buttons, charging..... nothing.
"err 004" on the display.

then, while charging I held the power button for a few seconds........and it unlocked it and it is working again.

if anyone tries this please post your findings, so we can eliminate if this was just luck....:leaf:

Good evening all!

I haven't been on this thread much since the Crafty thread was a bit larger (I did ask for mod approval before double posting similar content!).......

For those of you who might not be aware. I have made a custom Silicone waterpipe adapter for the Mighty (and Crafty) Mouthpiece. Basically I 3D printed a 2-part mold and fill it with Aquarium-grade Silicone (and a bit of corn starch). The finished part (once cured) is non-toxic, vapor safe, and ISO/PBW safe for cleaning

(Note, there may be day or two shipping delay while I process your orders - these parts take about 12 hours to cast. Freshly made parts will smell like vinegar for a week, early customers may need to wait several days after delivery for them to finish curing).

Hey everyone! I don't if this has already been addressed, but I was wondering if it is ok to use hash in the mighty? Anyone tried to? :hmm:

You'll want to work it into smaller pieces for more surface area, perhaps a little bit of bud on the bottom and a layer of hash on top. Maybe a bit more flower over the hash?

Quetzalcoatl,
That's the trick right there. Top Notch. I never used the pad until now. I'm getting strong hits when I use it.

I've used the Mighty almost exclusively with hash, not really my choice but the bud here is €20 a g and shit.

Anyways, what I do is put down a halved or a bit less than halved liquid pad at the bottom, put the hash on top and then put a whole liquid pad on top. I've tried using hash straight on the bottom screen but too much fell through the bottom screen (it vapes nicely though).

Speaking of this I had an interesting experience yesterday. My friend rolled and smoked a .5 joint, with hash. And I was like how the fuck can you smoke that much? So I decided to try do a .5 hash Mighty bowl. Didn't manage to fit .5 so used around .4
I was expecting really nice huge hits that never finish but that didn't happen. I instead didn't get too many hits and they were rather whispy. It was most probably an airflow issue as I basically clogged the damn thing. Very understandable.

Where it gets interesting is here; So OK I put a lot more in the Mighty than I normally do and got a lot less out due to airflow, but the hash seemed pretty spent. Where did all the goodness go? I can only think of 2 possibilities. 1. It condensed around the heating unit. 2. The hash wasn't actually all that spent.

I can't see how the goodness can just "disappear". This kind of "loss" or "misplacing" of goodness is interesting thinking about efficiency, even when thinking about how other vapes seem to give off less vapour than others.

I don't know if I'm making sense. Anyways if you going to use hash in the Mighty don't use too much, you'll probably get much better results!

Anyone at all know about serial numbers and batches. Mine does NOT work plugged in while fully discharged and the vendor I got it from is willing to exchange (awesome guys) but before I do I want to make sure its not a waste of shipping charges. My serial is MY001743 and they now have MY004673. Does anyone have the 4000 batch serial number and are all the glitches worked out of it, especially the issue with it not working while fully discharged?

This thing is so good that I wonder if I should replace it with one that hits the vibrate temperature (mine hits it 50/50 depending on battery strength). You can mess around with it to get it to vibrate (lower the temp til it vibrates) But I definitely want one that works plugged in when completely discharged.

That just happened...
It doesn't have a true pass through for power. If you completely discharge it it will require a slight charge before it will function. It's just the way it is. Thankfully a minute or two on the charger is enough to get it past the threshold. If your sending it back for this reason I think your wasting yours and s&bs time.

Software can control whether it will bypass the battery completely or not, and when to do so. S&B would agree with that statement since it came from their technical department. And it's not them I'm sending it back to but if it was, the only one's time being wasted and money, is mine.

This product is supposed to perform in a way it's not able to (at the moment), and I don't think it's acceptable at all.

When the warranty is up and the battery is totally dead, I don't want to be left with a paperweight or shipping charges and a bill for repairs. I want to have a working unit, with a dead battery, just as advertised, otherwise I wouldn't spend $500 on the thing.

How do you know that it can not truly bypass the battery? And if it only takes yours one or two minutes to start up from a fully discharged battery, are you sure it's not sensing things and then bypassing because that's not much time to charge enough to actually power the unit it seems. Everyone else, or most who are experiencing this problem, are saying twenty minutes or so, as if it need's enough juice to power the unit by battery alone with no help from the charger.

Speak for yourself. Mine behaves as it should. It powers down when out of juice. You can power it back on and it will not heat but just wait. As soon as I plug it in it starts heating and charging immediately.

Well, then your's works as it should. And what does that have to do with the issue I am having with my unit...?

I am speaking for myself and figured it was common sense that 'everyone else' meant everyone else experiencing this problem.

My unit does not heat up when plugged in and fully discharged, and there are plenty of other posters who's unit's are the same and from the post's I read it seems that most have stated that they needed a twenty minute charge before it does start to heat up.

Other modalities of failure have been reported with this, they are not all the same as yours. Speak for yourself.

t-dub, are you saying that you can use it plugged in immediately after the battery has been depleted?

Yes, I posted about this earlier. When my Mighty runs out of juice it first stops heating, pauses kinda, then turns off. When I turn it back on it just sits there, waiting, no heat, and it will time out if I let it but when I plug it in it begins to charge/heat immediately.

I had this exact same experience. It is pretty frustrating but I think I'll send it away since I have the Crafty to tide me over...

I have a few of these in each size and can vouch for them as being the best glass connection solution so far for the Mighty/Crafty! Go over to the Crafty thread to see a video of my Crafty with the 18mm SonG on my Luke Wilson rig

I have to ask this again if anyone is able to help. Does anyone own a Mighty with the serial number in the 4000 range and does it work/heat while plugged in with a fully discharged battery?
