Here is the usb fridge chilled satchmo filled with goodies. It sits perfectly on the cold ring. I used multiple classic before, but I couldnt sit more than 1 on the cold ring. I couldnt get all my classic jyarz cold to keep my concentrates chilled. Now Im perfectly satisfied.

Great idea Spoutti. I think I'm going to have to pick up some jyarz for my concentrates. I use nogoo and I am very concerned about the silicon. Cold concentrates are so much easier to handle. So I got this concentrate from my dispensary called nobleman (or that is the strain they got popular for) and it is like a honey consistency, very hard to work with. Any suggestions on using this type of consistency?

I am asking for storage and application. Thanks.

i'd also be interested to know if there are people who have tried the Chico for dry sift. I haven't tested them for that purpose but I suspect they would work very. If there are dry sift aficionados out there please be in touch as I'm willing to provide a sample for testing purposes.

Thank you for replying.

Works well for that purpose I presume? If so I want to get more aggressive about "viral marketing" Chico for this specific purpose. Although I haven't medicated with dry sift, I like how clean and pure it is (I'm not into chemical processes - I don't judge I just don't prefer it for my own use). So any additional feedback regarding Chico's use with dry sift is very much appreciated.

Have a great week everybody!

I was always planning to use the Chico (when I get some) as a smaller Classic for my dry, ground herbs. Do most people not do this?

Yes, I designed Chico for concentrated (and ground materials) but I'm thinking of approaching the "dry sift community" in a very targeted fashion which is why I asked my previous question. I was not suggesting that Chico couldn't be used for more than dry sift.

I do this also.. My only ground meds go in the Chico. My other is for dry sift only

Thanks...I presumed it was a good vessel for dry sift but it's helpful to receive confirmation. If any of you know of prominent people in the dry sift "market" I would like to contact them to see if we might be able to collaborate in some way.

Thank you.

Okay, I'm probably odd. I use the Satchmo's for my ground herb. They are easier to load my GonG's this way. Color coded by strain (although I could always use some more color choices).

The Classics I use for out and about (they hold joints nicely, if you're into that). I've also gifted quite a few Classics to friends/family.

All of my pre-ground material live in CVaults (with a few more Satchmo's holding odds and ends).. If I need to refresh the ground material, I place the glass insert in a CVault for a few days (usually with a another strain, the insert keeps everything separate).

Regarding "dry sift," is that like hash or kief? If so, I have my only Chico filled to the top with hash (the green powdery kind). It works perfectly for that. I use a little spoon to get what I need out of it.

It's both at the same time! Dry sift aims to maximize trichome head purity while keeping other particulate matter out. It's like hash in the sense that it's concentrated kief, just unpressed and instead of getting trichome heads and trichome stalks and little bits of flower, it's heads. You can press dry sift out with some parchment paper and heat to get little slabs/patties of melty goodness.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
My Chico's purchased are used by all 3 of us for strictly dry sift use (and the other size JyARZ as well if we end up processing too much lol ie: dry ice runs ;) ). Work perfect for this, and super easy to clean with the bonus of lil dabs after ISO or Etho cleaning evap !

...if you'd be willing to test it and report back to the community I'll send you a sample or two.

Again send info to me via Aldo@JYArz.com.

Thanks,

Hi, Aldo.
Thanks for sending out the replacement gaskets.
They arrived, and seem to have very little odor. There's still something very slight there, but nothing at all like the other ones.

These new ones are obviously made with a completely different material (or, at least, somewhat different). The originals I got (in the Jyarz that were just shipped to me in December) are dark orange, whereas these are cream/white colored. Also, the originals have some kind of grain lines on one side, and the other side is just sort of textured, whereas these new ones are pretty much completely smooth on both sides.

I will test them out for a week or so and let you know how they seem after that.

Thanks again, Aldo.

BINGO! This gives me more confidence that we just need to be more effective about marketing the Chicos for this type of material. I think it's a growing area and I want to be part of it. I'm going to give more thought to doing promotions targeted toward dry sift aficionados, if anyone on this list has ideas please share I'm open to everyone's input. I don't really like traditional advertising/marketing so some sort of word-of-mouth/viral type campaign might be good...ideas?

My pleasure! If other people want this new type of gasket (for the Satchmo only at this time) I may just put up a "Postage" link on JyARz.com and we'll send out the gasket free of charge if people can help us out with postage. Does that seem reasonable to everyone?

It more than works, this list is a big part of JyARz success so I'm committed to do my part.

So, I've added:

http://www.jyarz.com/collections/accessories/products/postage-and-shipping

It's just $3.50 for postage (even if you purchased Internationally). if you want new gaskets for your Satchmos just purchase the postage. If you purchased more than one Satchmo, just send us a note (as part of the check-out process) and we'll send one replacement for each of the Satchmo's you've purchased. We'll send free replacements (once you purchase shipping) to anyone, for clarity's sake, please note that we will only send out multiple free replacements if you can send us your original order number from JyARz.com.

Oh and here's the information on the replacement gaskets (which we are putting in all new orders as well):

40-A Durometer, low volatile, peroxide free silicone rubber. All the ingredients used to make this product are listed in Title 21CFR 177.2600. This FDA regulation deals with rubber articles intended for repeated use in contact with food. It is Non-Toxic & Chemically Inert with an operating temperature of 450F.

We get this stuff from a new supplier, I've ordered the first lot and now that we are getting very experienced with gasket material I'm very confident that this is very good stuff. Frankly, I have zero problem with the orangey looking version we used previously but people's sensitivity to odor varies so we've continued to look for improvements to make everyone (or as many people as possible) happy and I think the new stuff will do the trick.

Yeah I like the Orange personally and never noticed a weird smell after I dropped some medicine in. Thanks for never being satisfied aldo.

Very nice! That sounds like the type of Silicone I was wanting and will probably make my sensitive nose happy. The orange stuff did not quite do it for me. Will you have the other sizes made with this new Silicone as well? I have a few classics with the old Latex that I'd also like to change out.

Kief,

We will draw down our current inventory and then we'll switch to the new silicone for everything. The existing silicone is very high quality which is why we won't just throw it out but at current volumes we should be switching the Classics over in 4-5 months or so. I'm also testing new shock absorbers for the Classics (similar to the style now used in Satchmos) so far tests are very positive so we'll probably make that change earlier.
