Zob or HVY?

im wondering what u guys think, im in the market to purchase a new tube, and im stuck between 2. the 1st being a Zob OG Beaker, 14 inch. (115$), which i BELIEVE im leaning towards, heard good things about Zobs, but also about HVYs! and the 2nd one, being a HVY glass 16 inch clear beaker (120$). ANY info. would be GREATLY appreciated on what you guys think... Heres a pic of each one:

the pictures dont work (for me at least)...for a simple beaker both are fine, the downstem would be the most important part, i'd go with a alex k downstem myself

how thick is the glass? you can get a 7mm jhanpixel beaker for less than $100 and a 9mm thick for like $125

i plan on getting an alex k DS, but i cannot find 1 for cheaper then $50! but im figuring thats about normal?! thats just SOO much for a damn DS! i guess FC wouldnt show the pics. i dunno how to show, ill try again w links.. I REALLY do want to find a alex k DS showerhead w EITHER, but i THINK im leaning towards the Zob OG Beaker.

does anyone know where i can purchase an alex k DS for the cheapest btw?! i have a feeling its not gonna get any cheaper then $50... do you guys REALLY think its worth it? or would the zob or HVY 6 slit DS w a single hole work fine?! eventually, i want to make this tube the BEST i possibley can, so id like to get an alex k DS, just SO pricey. for a DS.

yeah, i just like the Zob from ALT WAAAAAAY more, it looks a lot better to me and cleaner w choices of different label colors. its only 15$ more w cheaper shipping and id rather pay a lil more to get the zob off of ALT instead. the top label just looks better to me and i love the "cali-made" logos too. i really do want an alex k DS tho, i want this tube to hit like a charm.

NOW, im actually leaning towards a Manifest 7mm thick 16 inch beaker (150$) but they are sold out right now. if 1 comes in, i believe this is the tube ill go w. ive heard some good things about MGW. what do you guys think? the 2 above i mentioned, or this MGW.

Why not buy the one in the classifieds right now w 2 downstems that will work with pretty much any connection you have and then pick up an Alex K later on if you feel the need too? I have an Alex k and it's great and has that designer look but there's also the option of OregonGlassBlower on ioffer which is slightly cheaper but just as good quality. I enjoy pulling tubes but find myself leaning towards a bubbler nowadays and there's tons of great options in the cheap glass threads including the FC-ion matrix sidecar clone. For the price of one tube from ALT, you could probably have three decent ones from dhgate.

i prefer hvy glass personally, more low key logo and i feel like they make the worked pieces with love lol

he actually hit me up b4 putting it in the classifieds, but its only 10 inches and thats not what i want. i want a beaker 14-16 inches tall..

i would be buying a non worked HVY, specifically the 16 inch clear beaker on ALT. i LOVE it! just want to hear anything about it if possible.

Well I can tell you this. I've owned HVY and gotten to look at tons of HVY vs Zob glass, and they all get top ranks. But for So Cal made glassware at a great price point you can't be beat HVY.

In fact Ventura is a bit far but if you want to see a bunch of HVY and Zob glass together in one place try Check Your Head in Huntington Beach, it's where I got the beaker and I highly recommend them.

But between the two, for me at least, HVY is my first choice with Zob the close second.

well i have two hvy's one mini beaker one mini straight both worked, and i seriously love these two little pieces with no perk compared to any other perked piece i have i dont know if that will help you much but for flower pieces i would say grab the hvy you'll love it!

so outta these 3, would you still pick the HVY?! i LOVE it, but i ALSO love thw Zob and MGW! lol

They are ALL SOO pretty! lol i like em all! i cannot decide. ive been really liking the MGW lately, made w 7mm quality american glass, and w the Manifest, i wouldnt need a OGB showerhead downstem bc their tube comes w a nice MGW showerhead downstem.
If i were to get the Zob 14 inch OG beaker or the 16 inch HVY Glass clear beaker, id be ordering an OGB showerhead downstem so thatd be an extra 32$ on top of those 2. Better then 55$+ for an Alex K, When Mike(OGB) makes his showerheads JUST AS NICE! So those 3 ARE DEF my 3 picks, just need to decide on 1. I really do like em all, and i hear decent things about all of the brands... i gotta pick somethin soon bc my bdays on the 20th! hah and yeah, im looking for a beaker tube w NO perc. my last 18 in. roor had a tree perc and i just dont want 1 this time.

Oregonglassblower will make the stem to your custom specs. He makes them to order. Mike is a class act. The prices are great too. Be sure to make your offer on ioffer based on a 10% FC Discount. Then mention it in a message with your stem specs. I have 5 pieces made by him.

oh im for sure going to OGB for my downstem work and adapter pieces for sure! his super nice looking showerhead downstem looks just like an alex k downstem w out the "alex k" logo. i saw the 2 next to each other in a pic, and they looked identical! all i heard is good things to. the only thing i was worried about w those type of downstems was i thought they might get clogged easily but ive heard they dont bc w these quality ones, they make the slits bigger, big enough for the ash to go thro and all. bc ive seen cheap showerhead 1s where the ash and crap just gets stuck in the downstem! who the hell wants that?!?! lol which 1 of the 3 above would you pick diehard?! just wondering...
