While I get what you're saying, I don't think one it ten new guys goes back the usually recommended 20 or so pages. "Nobody" is going to read from the start who doesn't want to......

I usually skip the first 20 posts when I read a thread for a vaporizer I own or want to own.

Since I didn't get the good price point all the supporters have, I guess it's time to be patient and wait for version 2. Maybe work out some bugs too. But VAS taps me on the shoulder and nudges me all the time if I read some good reviews. Was $99 the lowest price point for early adopters?

Smart man. A $89 investment for a possible game changer. I spent more than that on vape pens that do not have half the features of this. I just hate the feel of ti or stainless steel, but prefer the texture of pens like the ego twist, dr dabber, omicron lite.

Version 2 request. A black pen that has "some grip". Sweaty or wet hands do not seem ideal with version 1

I just heard that a clone manufacture in China will be releasing the "Mantis" to Alibaba prior to the release of the Grasshopper. Originally, it was going to be called the Terracotta. :brow:
I like what the Chinese have done to this industry. I hear a lot of complaints about copycats and lesser quality. However, they are pushing vapor manufacturers to constantly innovate. Those who claim that they are stealing IP, I agree that it is not right. But they are going to do it regardless.

I know that I started this derail and I apologize in advance. Just can't help myself when something like this enters my head but..............how can cloning an existing vaporizer push manufacturers to innovate?

Mods, ya may want to move this over to a "Clones" thread........(sorry.)

Sorry ppl, this will be my last point on copycats. Iam going to use a glass analogy because this is where I hear the most complaints from glass blowers ( I don't know if they are complaining but this is what I read from the cheap China glass pieces thread) If you make a great product, the Chinese can't make it the same as the original manufacturer. It will be of a lesser quality and the original will work much better. It forces the original manufacturer to make the product with the best quality parts and most innovative ideas.

Think of rolexes. So many fakes but why do people still buy the real one? It's quality. If manufactures start trying to use cheaper parts, the Chinese will copy and make it at a lower price point.

Please pm me if you like to debate. It's fun and I value everyone's opinion and am not trying argue with lwien. We all have different opinions and I respect yours.

@OF - I don't remember the Cera heating up that quickly, but it was a while ago and you would know better than I.

Not that it does so routinely, but IMO with a freshly charged battery and careful load it can handily beat that time. And both T1 and Evolution, with more 'horsepower to weight' power wise are more so. It's largely a physics problem which is why the timing is no surprise to me, it's what I expected.

I'm thinking the load is tiny relative to even Evolution? An advantage speed/power wise on 'heat to use' vapes. There too, the numbers are pretty fixed. A minimum useful load for me is a couple PD stems, half a Solo stem or half a MFLB trench if the weed is potent. Roughly 1/16 gram, 60mg or so. I'm most interested in how long it'll take to extract that much (and how hot it gets in the process) and how many times per charge will it do so.

Why is that worse? The backers will get ours first, hopefully in just a couple few more weeks- we've been waiting the longest. If your buddy Carlos was an early funder, he is not on the wait list, and will not be waiting till April. (Well, we all hope so. Take any dates with a grain of salt)

People who only just paid for a spot on the wait list a few weeks ago have to wait for the next batch.

Let it be true.

because he got the same email I did, and I'm on the wait list.. I think you may have misinterpreted my post. I hope this is an accidental email flaw. If not, my little friend is gonna be pissed in a few weeks

I think he meant that the early birds got the same estimated ship date as the people that just prepurchased. Also, why so many damn terms for buying a vape? :)

Are people reading the last update as saying that nobody is receiving it before April?

FNG here, just signed up today. E-mailed Trevor earlier with some concerns and thought I would paste the response here. I didn't ask if I could post it but I mentioned the site and have seen others paste his responses here so I'm thinking it's okay...some one please let me know if not. I noticed no one else was concerned about the oil front end after seeing the chamber location change, and I've recently started enjoying oils very much, so I asked Trevor about it. I also asked about the temp in the video, and the retail price. Here is his response:

We still have the oils end in the works. We have been focused solely on delivering the Grasshopper first, but work on the oils end will start once we get shipping going.

I think we used the 2nd to the last tick in that video. Honestly I don't really remember for sure. We got a bit behind schedule and were moving fast. Everything was all in one take, haha. That would put the temperature around 190c. Better videos coming soon!

The final retail price is not set, but we are working hard to keep it as low as we can. It might not change if we predicted costs correctly. It's hard to know until we are shipping.

Hope this helps and thanks for the support.

Best,

Trevor

By the way, that response came in an hour and 15 minutes...that impressed me enough I figured I'd point it out.

I REALLY wanted to pre-order when I got the opportunity just under a week ago (have less than 24 hours to order still), but I'm a little broke right now, and if this thing can't do oils as well as dry, I don't think it'll be worth $135+ to me. Here's hoping they get the oil front figured soon and all works out, things are coming together nicely and looking gooooooooood!!
