MiniVAP Vaporizer

@lazylathe make sure to use the liquid pad along with a basket under it per Hermes instructions, small or large makes no difference. I've a Persei & 8 for my Oil consumption, BUT I've tried Oil in it 2x ,so that I could review it here, and didn't think much of it! I Cranked it up to Red tossed in a Dab & got a few Super tasty Wispy hits. Oil dissapears almost instantly into pad. I just use my GOLDIE OF LOVE MINIVAP for my herbal medicine:leaf::mmmm:. Peace my fellow Vapers:smug:
I do the same. I Try to keep my herbal vaporizers strictly for herbs, even though the liquid pad is made for a reason.

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
Sorry for being stupid! But what do you mean without the cap? Could you take a photo of that setup for me please? Thanks

Here's how I use my 14mm f-Bomb with my MV.

Just take one of the flexicone/basket modules and pop it in MV. Then hold the f-Bomb on the flexicone while inhaling. Luckily, the f-Bomb is just the right diameter to fit on the flexicone while making a good seal.

My Pinnacle water tool is a bit wider diameter which prevents it from making a tight seal the way the f-Bomb does. I would guess the 18mm version of the f-Bomb might have a similar problem sealing.

I often wonder if other people garner as much enjoyment as I from the simple act of brushing out a basket, especially a large one, with the gnarly little mV brush.?

oh! count me in on that! I clean the basket and screen with it before using it everytime. The brush is great!

brush related question...can I clean the teflon insides with it? In the manual it shows to do this, and i went for it once, but after a few strokes got scared I would scratch the chamber...so now only using it for the screen and basket...what do you all think? Is it also intended and safe for use in the chamber?

But I like it!
So does anyone with a minivap also have an inh05? I'm looking to compare low temp extraction. It sounds like the MV excels at it, but it's always nice to hear from someone with a common viewpoint. Tia :)

People are talking about a lose of taste with the glass airpath.
There are 2 reasons:
- temperature settings are a little higher than the old version
- glass increases conductive heating in the loading chamber, increasing the density of vapor and decreasing taste.
Precisely what I suspected.

I have both but my Mini is currently out for service at the moment. It's due back to me Monday but I need more time to get acquainted before I comment further. However @Vape Dr. and @stickstones have both so maybe they can give you insight now.

I don't have the inh5 but I can tell you 110% the mini excels at low extraction more so then the inh5.

I haven't used either vape at low temps much. I found the inh05 to be limited in its performance with anything below six, if that gives you any idea of what I look for in a vape. None of my MV's go lower than 195c, but they all perform well at that temp.

With the INH05 I'm finding I can do a whole session on 3 and it's like licking weed-flavoured honey off velvet. After the past few weeks of low-temping I've been putting everything in the ABV bucket after ayto, or maybe 6. Now I'm looking at the Minivap for use as an 'around the house' portable that doesn't cook-off after 10 minutes. INH for stealthy mobility and MV for around the house and yard. It should come with a murse (man purse) for carrying around the pasture :)

PS - if you are bored try set some fresh herb in the INH, set it at 4, and give it a minute or two to soak after it's hit temp. It's subtle, but I found that once I could replicate the low temp flavours I was hooked.

@killick I too am a low temp vaporer. I have the INH05 and the Minivap. I can Do my best to give you a fair comparison and my personal opinion as a low temp guy.

Now first off, the Minivap and INH05 are apples and oranges comparatively speaking.

INH05: Conduction, super stealthy, ridiculously fast heat up, good taste, good vapor) On the warm side, shorter battery life (1 replaceable 18650 battery). Comes with polymide capsules which work well enough, I am just not a fan IMO they make the vapor hot.
I usually only use the glass stems (with silicon drip tips) at temps 5-6 then the vapor starts to irritates my throat. At this point I throw on the WT adapter and finish from temps 6-8 with the F-bomb with the glass stem and I'm all good. IMO the INH05 is better for those who prefer vaping at high temps.

Minivap: Convection, larger but acceptably larger (feels nice in your hand or passing around), great taste, great vapor, cool vapor, whip mouthpiece, solid cone, and flexy cone are all standard as well as a medical grade plastic 45 degree MP. It uses 4 batteries that lasts 5 hours on the lower temps. Stainless steel insert option ($20 I believe), it also does concentrates, (if you have a crafty the small basket fits in the craft or mighty allowing you to fill up the basket, keep the chamber clean, and get more convection because your herbs are hanging in the chamber in the basket not conducting).

So my friend, If you are looking for stealthy, the INH05 takes the cake, and heats up super quick but has very warm vapor IMO.

If you like low temps, IMO the minivap wins hands down. It takes much longer to heat up,( but the battery is a freakin monster!).

I agree with @Mrmrmrmr about the MV extracting much better than the 05.
I also agree with @stickstones about the temps. Even at green or red the MV performs like a true champion. The vapor is not harsh on the throat, or overly warm.

I, as a low temp guy am super happy with my minivap (Which are down to around $500 now!).
It extracts like a champ, tastes amazing, it's convection (you can set it down for 5 minutes, pick it up and not have wasted any material) I have used my MV for hour sessions on blue and purple only with one large basket.

IMO if you are a low temp guy I personally feel you would enjoy the MV much more than the INH05.

I hope this helps you out my friend.

Feel free to PM me if you have any other question so we don't hijack the thread.

:peace:

@Vape Dr. thanks! That's a perfect comparison, and thanks so much for taking the time to put it together!

I got quite intimate with the 05 when we got stuck away from home (mountains and avalanches don't get along well, and we were on the wrong side). The INH and myself had a lot of idle time walking the dog. I used it everywhere - shopping, in movie theatres, taking out the garbage, you name it. Every now and then I'd get this strong and amazing shot of flavour. After a bit of playing with the dial I was able to replicate it, and it's very addictive.

The consistent reviews of this aspect of the MV have me quite interested! I think I just pulled my own trigger - here's hoping it doesn't ever need to get shipped back :)

Thanks again!

Hi, just received my mv! Just plugged in to charge battery, plugged it in and the light is green! Does that mean it's ready to go? Or will it go red when charged? Thanks

Green means go! ;)

It'll take a while to warm up, probably longer than your other vapes, let it warm up, fill the basket, use the flexicone+, take long mellow draws on it, make sure the first draw you take is for at least 5 secs, enjoy!

Awesome thanks! It's on heating up as I speak! Got some really nice Afghan x big bud! :rockon:well excited I'll post back in 10:D

One more thing, will the heater light stop flashing when it's ready?

I'll be interested to hear how @I.b.vaping finds the flavour from his new glass lined MV.
OM fUCKING G!!! Ummmm I'm baked 1030 in the morning!

I noted a 20 segrete celsius difference between the temp charts printed in the pdf manual and the faq oh the hermes website. Hai anyone tested the actual temp with a probe or has Hermes stated which chart is wrong ?

I always think, the main problem is how you manage that state..

right where to start? First go tried it with little plastic mouthpiece on blue, very nice taste! Definitely a notch above my solo, does get a little hot but not that bad I'm used to a pnp and they get hotter! After a couple of puffs was blowing huge clouds! Really surprised! Then put some silicone tubing on with a ascent mouthpiece, while doing that I checked the basket for heat! Not that hot! Put it on my forehead lol onto pink! Still really nice taste and huge clouds immediately, nice :brow: definitely better with tubing and ascent mouthpiece. Upto green and decided to proper rip it!! Mv punched me in the face and kicked me while I was down!! :horse:had a proper coughing fit lol! Taste still good but vapour definitely a little tickly, upto red now and it got me again!! Dammmmmm! Stuck a 1.5m whip on an found it did cool it a bit, think watertool is needed :tup:overall I'm loving it, really surprised how long a basket lasted and must say for such a small amount I'm definitely medicated! And I'm no lightweight!
One more thing I'd like to add, some people when using this for the first time don't always seem to get the same result as myself using for the first time! Personally I think some of it comes down to the way you fill the basket and what bud you have!? My Afghan x big bud is lovely and resinous and nicely cured... :leaf::mmmm:thanks to everyone who gave me some advice
