I read an email someone posted awhile back that was from Trevor. He said there was a mix up in the waiting list queue and some were getting their chance to pre-order way before others who had been on the list for awhile. I had joined the list and not only a few months went by before I received my email. My stoked tank was too full to say no. It was a few days before Christmas when I sealed the deal. It stated I had an expected March delivery date for a ti model. I bought the ticket, now I'm along for the ride..

Updates from ‘Grasshopper Vaporizer’

Grasshopper Vaporizer via Indiegogo
cleardot.gif

You’ve Received a Campaign Update!

Here’s an update for you from the ‘Grasshopper Vaporizer’ team:

1 new Announcement:

Hey Everyone,

We’re back with the January 15th update. Things are going well, and we’ve been working to verify the final robustness of the device in preparation for shipping. As shown in the last update, there were a few cosmetic errors and charger tweaks that we needed to take care of. We’re still waiting on the arrival of the new Front-Ends, Sheaths and Dials.

The process of working with manufacturers is still slow, but we expect to have the new parts in-hand before the end of the month. Included will be new Front-Ends with a different threading pitch, proper Sheaths, and Dials with a corrected metal finish.

Just before last update, we realized that the charger needed a few tweaks. A great feature of the Grasshopper’s charger is it’s ability to take advantage of high-current usb sources. Some charger electronics were running hot during high-current charging, and we did not want to lose that feature last-minute. A solution to this is already completed, and our manufacturers are implementing it as we speak.

Although we are still holding off a bit longer before shipping, we want to share how great the Grasshopper is turning out. Check out the newest video showing some of its functions and power.

We remain committed to building only the highest-quality vaporizer, and are closer than ever to sending it your way. As many of you know, pre-orders have opened to some people on our waiting list. We have promised most of these units for April delivery, and backers will definitely be receiving their Grasshoppers first!

Thanks,

The Grasshopper Team

Looking good. Couple of concerns. First it look like he packs aloooot of herb in that thing to get those clouds. Way more than I usually pack in my pax. Second, it seems like the bowl has been moved from the front end to the body of the pen itself, possibly making cleaning it a little harder

We're here to fuck shit up.
Do they ever say which temperature setting was used for the usage portion of the video? I'm not too sure about that vapor production. It looked like long draws with no inhale of the vapor just blowing it straight out, a black background, with light shining just right to catch the vapor. You can make wispy vapor look rather thick doing this.

Anyone noticed that the loading takes place in the main body rather than the front end? That's a big change from the original design...
EDIT: JD noticed this first apparently... :p

And I don't think he put THAT much in there... I vote for .2g tops. It still looks like it won't hit like a train but but it still looks good nevertheless! :D

I'm happy with that update. I needed that video, but I also am wondering about the change in the front end. I was happy with the vapor production, but like it was stated before we don't know what temp this was at. I am even more excited about the reviews that will be coming out soon. It's the back stretch and we can see the finish line. At this point I can wait until March/April for mine. I just want the backers and reviewers to get their mitts on some so I can live vicariously through them. I'm hoping my optimism is well placed and I am not setting myself up for disappointment. I guess we will see soon enough.

Video looks like high temp, no problem for me, only more confirmation.

No cap loading is a little disappointing bc I like that feature of the T1, especially for stirring, but their heat swirl is supposed to eliminate stirring anyhow.

Also now you can see how the mouthpiece insulates, its a sheath over the heat chamber so less conduction I guess, interesting. But yeah someone should ask them about it and cleaning in particular. I dont mind it the way it is, I'm sure the design is well thought out.

Gonna be ordering mine today

I just went back and watched the video of Matt showing the front end/chamber and it has changed so much. This isn't a deal breaker for me by any means but I'm kind of interested in why this wasn't addressed in any of the prior updates? Also, I am wondering about cleaning, I hope they give an explanation of cleaning procedures because before it was as easy as dropping the front end in some alcohol. Also it seems the quick style threading is different.

Did look like a bunch of herb loaded in there- that would be 4 HUGE hits on my Underdog.
Hopefully it will perform as well with just a pinch at a time.

Other than that great video!

yeah, he didn't put much in there. most of it ended up on the table. looks like a loading tool is next off the drawing board!
The video looks awesome, but like stickstones, a loading tool is needed for such a small opening hole. Maybe just use the one made for the s&b portables. I wasn't really interested in this vape, but that video changed my mind. If it was made for small loads, I would never purchase. What is the point of a sleek portable if you have to keep refilling.

I realize some like smaller bowls for efficiency so create something that will act like the glass flowers for the ascent or oil pad from s&b

Ok I'm hoping everyone reads this, but unless he was doing a direct lung hit with a deep draw from the Grasshopper, it looked like he wasn't inhaling it AT ALL and let me repeat AT ALL

if he did though, it looked quite vague, and in my honest opinion this vape doesn't look like it functions that well.. he blew out immediately after taking his draw, and the vapor cloud was pretty minuscule.

This isn't bashing as I was a fan of this project over a year ago, and still have high hopes, but it doesn't look promising, and is the reason I will not be purchasing as an early adopter ... but as the usual goes with my luck, this thing probably works like a charm, hope I didn't Jinx anything.

Honnestly many of us suspected they wouldn't break Physics laws, what did you guys expect?

It's already awesome enough that it works and will be released for real, and as @Kaptan said the heating time is very impressive, near instant as they advertized.

I'm still concerned about battery life, but the thing is super stealthy and not meant to do long sessions. To take ninja hits un-noticed and back to the pocket this will surely be excellent. If you need bigger clouds use a more powerful portable or a desktop.

Glass flowers shoudnt be necessary at all for smaller loads, bc this is supposed to be pure convection not conduction. The swirling hot air should work with any amount that's loosely packed I would think. And if you do pack it in a little more, I'm sure the clouds get thicker.

I don't know how people can think that cloud wasn't impressive, (and better not to hold in so you can see more of it, right?) It looks pretty thick and substantial to me, and again we dont know the temp or if he couldve loaded even more (or less), or how many hits were left...

The way the cable connects to the battery ring is way different than it was previously too. Looks like it may have improved the durability of the connection, which is good, as cables don't last as long as they should around me...

EDIT: I do wish they'd show more of the charger and wall adapter. I hope there's not a huge charging block.

EDIT2: I tried to see what temperature it was set to when he was vaping, but there was too much glare :(
