I officially give up on the ESV, and take back anything positive I've said about it. I was wrong.

This thing is ridiculously sensitive, ridiculously finicky, and ridiculously dependent on everything being just so... the coil, the screens, the draw, etc. This is not a user-friendly unit, IMO.

I just got my unit back (again) from home base on Friday, and I haven't been able to produce a single hit of vapor. Not a single hit.

And yes, I know about the videos in this thread. You don't need to point them out to me. I see them.

Changing the heating coil? Yeah, know all about it. I've broken or distorted four of them in the past 24 hours trying to change them. Really not as easy for me as some may have suggested.

I've tried different screens, and screens arrangement, and nothing.

I know the unit is heating up sometimes, because I burnt my finger in the process of checking the coil for even heating. Really bad burn, actually. My fault completely. But no matter what I do with the coils or the tightness of the screws, it either heats unevenly when I check it (and after I've plugged it into the computer for a minute), or it doesn't heat at all. I am just fed up with this thing.

I know some of you claim to be having great success with this unit with no problems at all, and will say so, but I no longer am. Wildly erratic and uneven. I haven't had a working unit for a few weeks now.

I have zero confidence left for this unit.

And I really don't need to hear any "tips." I have tried them all. I am not a newb to vaporizing.

When it works, it's amazing. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, even sending it back to be checked up, mine refuses to perform consistently, or at all, anymore.

In fact, before I sent it back most recently, I ended up combusting at the very lowest level of temp (supposedly 305F) while at work and indoors. Yeah, that was fun. One minute, I'm getting no vapor, and the next, I'm filling my lungs with literal smoke. Good times.

If you're thinking of buying this unit... well, I'd wait on that, unless you like to tinker and fiddle and mess around with your vaporizers regularly.

I for one am sending my unit back to the company one last time. I don't expect to get it back, nor get any of my money back. They can just have it.

@btka thank you for the kind words my friend! I hope it was informative!

@mixchu69 The ESV is "out of the box" ready for most people.
I just love to take things apart and tinker.
When taking apart my Elevape I realized just how easy it is to tweak it to your own personal preferences so I couldn't resist!
I love low temps and played around a bit untill I got what I considered "optimal" results for me.
The ESV is super efficient, tastes amazing, and has good vapor.
Once you have ESV set where you want it, it is good to go like the crafty without the 2 minute warm up time.:)

I know @scottg402 Had some trouble at first with his. However, being a self proclaimed "Non DIY guy" he was still able to get it dialed in to exactly where he likes all the temps.
Also I know @scottg402 is a crazy "Go big or go home" session kind of guy, lol.
Where as I am a "6 great draws and I'm good for a while" type of guy, so this vape works well for me as a session vape so to speak as well as a "keep you going" vape like he mentioned.

IMO the ESV is an all around great vape for any occasion!
I know VAS will take over and I will purchase. I bought too many toys during this holiday season and haven't used half of them. I have my minivap ready for the next session.

I appreciate all the insight this forum gives, but you guys are much more advance than me. I'm the guy who has to google everything. I have become addicted to this FC site, reading all the posts and like how you guys create modifications to enhance the experience. Hopefully, I will gain the experience to be able to take apart and understand how the vape truly functions.

Well, Joe of Elevape wants to look at my ESV again and get everything set up for it then send it back to me for another try. Since I may have gone a bit ballistic with my outrage yesterday, I figure the least I can do is give it one last shot.

Gotta say, I have never met a businessman with more patience than Joe. If he can deal with a shitheel like me, then that's really saying something. I would have told myself to fuck off months ago...

If it works like it used to when I get it back, I'll let the followers of this thread know.

I'm reluctant to post for fear of jinxing my unit. #34 has been as steady as it goes. I haven't updated anything, and it still gives me great clouds. How a unit could be un fixable seems weird. But happy I haven't had to send mine in.

I'm still figuring out the coil thing, got it repositioned lower but still too hot in level 1 even with the bigger coil. Joes sending me the tool for the bottom screen removal so i can try @Vape Dr.'s two screen trick to keep things cooler.

Also, my screen heads dont face the sides like yours Doc, they face the rear. They also wouldn't screw in all the way flush like they were originally, they poke out and I can just barely get the top peice in place to put it back together. Not a huge issue but odd to say the least.

I'll report back once I can change the lower screen, hopefully I can get back to Elevapin effectively bc i really miss it

You're lucky... I've tried buying a coil and asked about the tool and a few other things to the EU "rep" for a few months now, we have exchanged a few mails, I haven't heard from him since mid December and spent the holidays with an out of order vape for not being able to order a coil.

@thotfukr I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Elevape!
By the looks of your meds I'm quite certain you will love the taste!:p
Keep us posted my friend!
Dude you're the reason I got this vape man, I saw the bid before I went through this thread. Yeah man, its Blueberry Kush from an old mountain hippie who's been growing the same strain for years, and it taste amazing in the SV.

I have a coil replacement video on this thread and on YouTube.
First of, make sure there isn't a piece of coil broken off in the post. A bad connection can make the coil work sporadically.
Replacing the coil is super easy my friend!
Watch my video, if you still have any questions feel free to PM me!

Had the broken coil in the post experience last week. My ESV is back in action with a fresh set of bowl screens. Good as new!

My coils came in a few minutes ago. Watched the video and installed it angling down towards the sensor. Set my temps to 6-8-11 and packed up some girl scout cookies bubble and some amnesia haze. To be safe I've been stirring every draw and I medicated and still on 1....I'm in love with this thing. Its so smooth and it taste really good at really low temps. The vape perfect for anybody who likes to tinker with stuff and likes to get ripped in public.....so ripped I can barely type. Can't wait to try some shatter in this;)

@thotfukr I had an oil pad video with shatter, (Oil pads are in the works) and my computer crashed when I was transferring it!:bang:

I am working on a new video and will post it up here for you.
And yes, the Elevape vapes shatter like a boss.

I really like the fact that the heating coil is above the oil pad when vaping, so there's no worries of having your concentrates defy gravity and drip up into your unit:D.

Finally tracked it down and installed it and it works fine with my old Mac OS (10.6). Thanks for that.

App works fine on my mac 10.10.1. Sure is nice to have access to settings without having dig out old windows laptop.

Only real thing is that I can add is I did take a dremel to the beta stirring lid. Cut off a third of the circle leaving the 2 pins intact. It really helped with keeping the screen under much cleaner. I can unscrew it move screen to the unused part when one side gets clogged.

Between the Instant hits, stirring lid and new mod I made to it this really has become my grab and go vaporizer.

You're lucky... I've tried buying a coil and asked about the tool and a few other things to the EU "rep" for a few months now, we have exchanged a few mails, I haven't heard from him since mid December and spent the holidays with an out of order vape for not being able to order a coil.

I'm in a similar position, I'm waiting for a new coil too. I got my unit back from service by the EU guys due to a battery problem and it hasn't worked at all since. I've discussed it all with Joe and he diagnosed a problem with the coil. The EU rep emailed me to ask for my address before Xmas, but I didn't receive anything. I emailed them and there was some kind of mixup and the coils still hadn't been sent. It's really frustrating because the hits I've had from the unit when I can get it work are some of my favourites from any vape and I like a lot of things about it. But I've not been able to use it for a while now and it's just a very expensive paperweight until it's fixed (hopefully by replacing the coil when it arrives, but we'll have to wait and see). Joe is a super cool guy and the customer service from him has been amazing, but I am getting a bit frustrated now. I know he has done everything he can to help though and hopefully the coils will finally turn up any day and I can fix my ESV and go back to being in love with it.

Whilst being without the ESV I was consumed by VAS and ended up buying the Crafty, which is quite a nice portable, but I prefer the ESV (when it's working).

So I noticed that my post are not lined up perfectly and every time I clean my unit and put it back together I knock the screws and go into safe mode. I can now no longer get the unit back together without it going into safe mode. Thank god for a great warranty and customer service. I'll be mailing it back for a hardware update. We really do get what we pay for with this vape. Joe is essentially updating my unit to version 2 by realigning my post, any other company would have told me to buy a new unit. My only complaints about this vape is the constant stirring and the bowl size (wish it were bigger).
