MiniVAP Vaporizer

Thanks mixchu69 thankfully I have a solo, pax, pnp and a iolite lol really doesn't give you that kind of peace of mind you expect to get with a premium device!
Be patient with it. When I purchased it, i had some really high expectations. After my first session, I was disappointed because that mouthpiece almost burnt my lips. But I took sometime to read this thread and it seemed everyone experienced those problems initially.

But with this vape, you can get creative to find something that works for you. I am a new mv owner myself and it took me a few sessions to get used to it. Now, as I modify, I enjoy it more and more.

Yeah, patience is key, Hermes do seem like a good company and I think they care that their product works and is the best on the market, things are transient at the moment as they're trying to make improvements, all for the greater good.

By the way, I'm no fanboy, just a realist and as an entrepreneur/businessman myself I have empathy for these businesses who are trying to improve vaporisers for us all to use. Things are moving quickly in the industry and we're all benefiting, companies who are stepping up and trying to use the best materials possible in order to create the best vaporiser possible like Hermes deserve some support.

An update on my faulty PSU, Hermes is sending me a new unit free of charge upon a small accessories order. That's class ! Kudos

Case in point, they're good guys! :D

I just received another mail from Alfredo, confirming that the new Glass core has higher conductive heat transfer than the old Teflon as it gets already way hotter with only 2~3 inhalations which will give more visible high density vapor but decrease in taste. I will definitely get Teflon one, because I value the taste the most. :myday:

stonevape / I personally prefer herbs(Kush) that I used to get in US dispensaries compare to the ones in UK, but I recently realized I love the BBC (British Blue Cheese)! It stinks but taste amazing when vaporize. :leaf:

l.b.vaping / Hope you will get the working device very soon.

That's disappointing to hear...I wish they would modify the MV itself instead of trying to create a new heating system. The Teflon is the shit !!they have the vaporizer down ,now it's time to fix all the bugs and such
I'm hoping the company will still make the Teflon core in the future.
I say get rid of the current stock mouthpieces and go glass. Or if the fragile factor is to much make them longer/slightly bigger so the vapor isn't so harsh.
I think I've only used the stock mouthpiece once since I got my MV. Go figure.

And as my wife refuses to adapt her practice of 'one draw, pass, until it's done' there wasn't much chance to test the benefits of the convection design that leaves herbs uncooked between draws. (She also has this annoying attitude that if her technique doesn't produce a cloud then it's time to turn it up, even though I'm getting nice enough clouds when it's my go). Certainly couldn't tell you the difference between the MV and the PP in this respect either.
Something is wrong... either with the MiniVAP, your technique, or both. Once the unit is fully soaked with heat, your wife should get clouds of vapor on even a single draw.

Are you using the baskets? And are you connecting the basket to the flexicone/flexicone plus?

How long do you let it heat up? And on what setting? I got best results when I allowed the unit to heat up for a full 15 minutes on green or even red. I know some people like to start low and work up through the temperature settings. But if you're looking for a large cloud on one draw, starting out at higher temperatures is probably the way to go.

Like @Vapst said, there's a learning curve with this device. Don't dismiss it prematurely.

I can't argue with anything you say. I think that this vape, more than any other, attacts "fanboys" who aren't willing to accept any criticism.

Could not disagree more. I have zero brand loyalty to any manufacturer. And I'm not simply justifying the purchase - I have paid for other more expensive units that I find to be inferior to the MV in terms of performance.

For example, my Crafty was more expensive than the MV. I think I paid more for my Cloud EVO as well.

I have no dog in this fight, i just want the best vapor available

Had a small conversation with MV`s Lore, as i asked him about the new feature a few days ago and if it`s worth to updgrade my old Unit.

He confirm me that they make test with both, teflon and glass airpath atm.

"Anyway these are our thoughts:
- Glass has a higher conductive heating, so after 2-3 inhalations the loading chamber get hotter, but it's a similar process has when you use the decarboxilation chamber.
- Teflon has a lower conductive heating, so the increase of temperature in between inhalations is not as high as with glass. "

He also write.

"you will have time to replace it once we show the lab info. In the case, teflon or glass airpath, both options use a new heating technology,
much robust and faster than before but we will offer the option to update whatever you prefer."

That means we get further information. :)

Tought i share this to get you guys informed about it, hope it`s ok so far!

cool...that means there are other improvements as well...not just a switch to glass.
So the mv I've just sent back today is a beta? Do you think I'll be better off getting my money back and wait until they know which one they are going with? Also I don't think vapefiend who I bought it off has anymore in stock! So think they are going to try and fix it! Not sure what to do? Any thoughts?

Does/ did your unit still work with the battery attached?
When using the power puck adapter it does take a little effort, more than the battery it seems, for it to 'click' into place. Sure you did this?

No the unit never worked with the power adapter or the battery! Went through the whole setting up procedure with vapefiend and definitely not working! Luckily I do have a few portables, back to the solo.

I have my MiniVAP! Went for the full kit, adaptor and battery :D

I will have more questions... ;) Starting with: how do folks use this with two of you? One long draw and pass, working up through the temps as it stops producing decent vapour on each one?

And thanks so much to the vapefiend, I swung by his warehouse today to pick it up in person, met him and his staff, great bunch of people and so, so helpful. If you're in the UK, this is who you should be buying your vapes from!
just wondering what was included in your accessories pack? How many mouthpieces?i got 1 of each, just wondering because I thought you got 3 of each!

I'm also calling bullish#t on the Fanboy comment. Absolute tripe!
Also someone stated their preference for the Solo over the mV??!! Hardy har har.
I had a Solo(on a loan to a buddy) and enjoyed it immensely, until I got my mV.
That spent taste after the first pull or two would have me tapping that stem out way before its properly finished. Wasteful.
Good to see some further info trickling down from Hermes HQ though.

Ohhh.. My 2 @Ratchett mV SonG cap covers have arrived in the UK from his Etsy store(still some available I believe). Shouldn't be all that long until I can test those puppies out!

Did you get a 14 and an 18 Song??
The 14 is very flexible. The 18 is thicker/stiffer but still not solid.

Inverted on a bubbler, the 14 really leans without holding. The 18 is more stable. Not really an issue for me as I never expected it to stay inverted by itself---I wouldn't want it to accidentally fall.

Note that a tube/whip will fit into the Ratchett Song so you can take whip hits on lower temps and then remove whip, pop it into your bubbler.

EDIT do you have a hydratube? I was going to test my Ratchett Song with a hydratube but the HT arrived in many pieces :( It should work well and I would never expect it to stand unsupported as the mV is so narrow. Just another option with the Song.

If anyone has a review/ pics of the Ratchett Song on a mV, please post!

I have just placed the order for Green Minivap full kit with 'Teflon' core, and new 'PTFE' heating system directly from Hermes. But this definitely cost me more than if I bought it from Vapefiend.
But still thanks a lot to everyone who kindly shares all the informations so that I could make right decision!

Yeah my man, got both sizes. I was thinking, if the centre hole is flexible enough to slip a small section of glass into it to shore up stability. What do you think?
Don't have a hydratube just yet but the cloud come out in UK shortly so... Ya know :brow:

Edit: I'll review once they reach Bonny Scotland as well as test the absolute sh#t outta them in every conceivable setup I have going at the mo.

@Henry81
The green one looked badass, red, even more so!
