@DieHard that's why I stick with d-nail. Brians been in the game from the beginning, his 3 year warranty is bullet proof and with a one time free coil replacement you can't lose.

Most of these nails on the market use PID controllers that you can get for 20 bucks on Amazon. Dnails CAL 32e is a 400 dollar controller.
I don't rightly know what's in my Errlectric unit. Maybe I should do some :science:

Salutations DieHard,

I dont see anything new or cutting edge going on.

That sounds accurate enough, LazyLathe was the 1st FC member to acquire an induction dabber and i still don't recall reading even a review many months later that would prompt others to do the same:

Maybe the A.C. power table implementation wasn't as satisfying as our expectations could be, but here's a portable approach to fill the gap, in theory:

Who knows! But yet it's going to be business as usual, for example in that last scenario, while for no obvious reason there's just no inlet to be found on the schematics unless fresh-air is supposed to come from inside!... Which makes me wonder where's the benefit of a wireless modular design anyway.

How about thermostatic action based on the Curie effect instead of costly solutions?... Well i don't get excited anymore when i find some advertisement exploiting the "induction" word these days. So, indeed IH technology should be cutting edge, for those who can wait for the potential of its basic advantages to be recognized and then put to some good use that really makes a difference, eventually!

:peace:

the e-nail.org one its cheaper and two years on the box, im sure after one to two years there will be more better designs and ill just sell my old one to get a new one. Total is only $200 compared to dnails 400-800 digital setups.

As I said, choice is yours. And considering that they haven't changed much yet. The next change will most likely be a completely different technology. Take the gamble hoping to sell electronics at a decent cost or go with tech that's already ahead of most enails? Oh, and being that a coils typical life span is 6 months to a year even if your a light user and make it the latter you still need to replace it. Dnail does that first coil for free!

At a 100 bucks a pop your now essentially spending the same money on a better made device.

And by the way, that 200 package - what does it include?

Now take a look at where the enail.org parts came from.

http://m.alibaba.com/product/60087745403/Mini-Desigh-Digital-PID-Temperature-Controller.html

I understand the price. As I said, the PID in the dnail 1.2 is still 200 dollars. Not 18.

the 200 package includes the heater control and the coil. Well i know it is that cheap but gimido enail has have pretty good reviews somewhere. Coils only cost 50-60$ for replacement. Two year warranty on the box, just 30$ or so to ship back to china. I just hope in the future the next gen enails will be cheaper to the 200$ range. There is the flexo nail by w9 tech but its going to be priced at $450.

I'm right there with ya brotha! I'm hoping for less expensive fosho!

Oh, and not to be a douche but it's 60 for those flat coils. Those fuckers burn out quick. 3 to 6 month life span. I like the design of the flat coil cause it typically reduces pooling at lower temps. But I went through 3 of them in a year!

Now I'll be honest, I'm not your typical user. I put fucking mileage on my dnail. Dabs help stop tremors in their tracks for a few so you could be damn skippy mvapes dabs a lot!

im thinking two years of usage is more then enough for a 200$ enail setup. of course ill have to get another coil and nail but thatll only be 270 or so. So say 50-70$ a year for a new coil, or ebay has coils for 55-65. After two years there will probably be a new flexo nail gen 3 or 4 and hopefully priced 200 or so.

Could be but why worry to save a couple bucks. You know what I mean?

It's not like choosing between China glass and a Fab Egg.

lol 3 coils in one year.... that really must suck. why not get the 15.8m coils or the 150-250w coils. the higher the w the longer their suppose to last. 150w coils are 60 or so on ebay, and theres a 250w coil for the aubur rdk 200 so im not sure if thatll work for other heater controls.

I've tried them all including encased. The 5 pin XLR's with kevlar are the best. Or at least my favorite lol.

I run my enail at least 12 hours a day. Doctors order!

12 hours a day for a 100w coil will indefinably burn out. dnail is great for their warranty and exchange for a new coil but their using 100w coils which cost 60$ and their selling it on their site for $100..... The analog enail dnail sells cost 250$ and you can get the analog control for $70. Then get an coil somewhere else.

Looks like 710 whip added the "Dab Cap" http://www.domeless.com/products/product-details/#cid=941817
apparently you keep in on the nail, maintaining temp and drop the dab through the hole. No no more temp drops from a cold carb cap. Seems like a good addition for the low temp of the 710 whip
Edit: Usage videos here http://instagram.com/domelessdeamon/

Best nail out there IMO, not sure why more people haven't jumped on them at the price!
Based off the above two comments, I just picked up the 710 whip and the new dab cap to have down at my girlfriends place :) she even has the same little tripod idab rig (the dhgate Kathy version of course lol) that is pictured on the domeless.com site

So the Gimido Best e-nail for at my place and the 710 whip for at my girlfriends :clap:

Man, what a good way to start off the new year! Glad tax returns are right around the corner though

Ok, so maybe the Errlectric IS a Next-Gen E-Nail. Here's a picture of the magic inside. This unit is ALL solid state. No relays to wear out. NO Chinese parts inside (and then "Made in USA" outside). This thing is US made! ( check the corner) There is also a replaceable fuse on the back of the board.

That's definitely more in line with what I'd expect from a newly designed enail.

Microprocessors are cheap and can certainly be used for a good temperature controller. PCB fab places are widespread and somewhat reasonably priced. That board shown is likely around $20-30 of components and fab fee. Not sure what the typical (resistive?) whips would go for, but this looks like it is headed in the right direction.

Honestly, after a couple of proper designs are made, the Chinese will do the rest in terms of driving price down to reasonable levels.

I have a couple of questions for all of you. Keep in mind, I don't own any Enail at all.

Are all enails resistive heating? Any idea what type of power draw is used for this?

I don't know anything about enails, but wanted to buy one that's been in the game and has a solid reputation. I purchased my analog Dnail controller, heater, hive ceramic with carb cap for 305 straight from Dnail in dec 2014. I didn't want to spend the extra cash for the electric because mine is for more recreational use. A little experimentation and you can find your sweet spot.

I definitely wanted the digital but was purchasing minivap and mighty at the same time, and wanted to keep costs down.
