Usually, it's cycling. I love long slow distance... like, all day rides of 40+ miles.

Right now, it's indoor gardening. I'm just discovering the therapeutic effects of growing one's own medicine... it's healing on many levels.

I am a kitchen witch, so one activity that has always lit up all my circuits, is cooking/baking/creating food that feeds the whole person.

With it getting dark so early in winter my outdoor activities have been reduced to only a couple things so I've been entertaining myself indoors.

Ive reinstalled my desktop components in a newer, much smaller case and revamped my water loop just to give me something else to do. As of late Ive been playing Total War Rome II non stop.

Mountain biking ... so far its a new favorite activity and a hobby and not a permanent fixture. I mention mountain biking as a hobby because I haven't even gotten close to mastering the harder trails and don't feel at all comfortable doing it high. I tend to obsess about a new 'thing' and once I immerse myself and get comfortable with it... it'll probably become a once in awhile thing. It'll never replace running for me.

Another new activity/hobby....at least its new to me....binge watching TV series on Netflix ... always had cable but Netflix is a F'n criminal conspiracy. It should be classified as a schedule 1 drug... I'm addicted.....The way that service starts the next episode automatically, especially when I'm baked...over the holidays I lost entire days. Thank goodness I couldn't convince my family to set up intravenous feedings!

Right now e-Bikes are what's hot in my house but not much fun in the really cold months. I'm going to start getting into UL backpacking Looking at buying a tipi and titanium tent stove from Seekoutside.
I've been researching all types of backpacking stoves and other ways to heat a shelter, cook for awhile now. I think the seekoutside stoves are the best buy for the money but they do cost a bit at just under $400 then another $600 on the tipi. After sleeping bag, sleeping mattress and clothing it can really get out of control fast. Since I don't ride my e-Bike in temps below 32F or in bad rain I'm building a 4 stroke motorized bicycle. That's it for the big hobbies then my small hobbies are fishing, flying free flight rubber band powered airplanes I hope to add small game hunting. I've also been watching documentaries and biographies very hardcore often up to 14 hours a day for the past few years. I pay poker but after ten years it feels more like a job then a hobby.

Several things. I'm playing with LEGO again. Right now I'm encasing the workbench I user as a stand up desk in my MMJ cave in vintage primary color LEGO bricks that average about 30 years old. These are from my reject bin of primary color basic bricks that adult fans have little use for. I just add a few bricks when I am down on the floor stretching or laying on my mat.

This "matching color be damned! Just give me the right shape brick I need right now" child-like building style is affectionately known by adult fans as the "Rainbow Warrior" style that we all used as kids when building space ships.

Man, I wish I had a bike to ride trails with....buddy has an old mountain bike, maybe I'll see what kind of shape its in. I live pretty close to my work, would love to bike there and back and take the bike on some of the trails this way.

Current hobbies:

-Teaching myself programming, specifically C++. I know a bit of it, but I'm really trying to build up a portfolio of examples for my future.

-I'm starting to write a book, I actually just started last night. Something I've been meaning to do for a while, and I'm not really like sure how to ~totally~ flesh it out, but its like a nonfiction/memoir/self help book. Title is, "Life is Scary: A Young Adults Guide to Surviving Young Adulthood"

Or something like that. I'm in the prelim phase!

Edit: Also play video games all the time, been loving lots of older retro style games as of late such as Binding of Isaac and Spelunky, games that kind of harken back to the early 90s of games but they're more modern. Pretty good games for the record.

In the unlikely chance you live in western Washington, I've got several bicycles in my garage you can pick from. Can't ride anything but my recumbent tricycle now. At least two mountain bikes for an average size man.

Same for anybody who could use these bikes, especially a mmj patient wanting to get in shape this spring.

Just ask the next several friends and family you encounter is they have an old bike gathering dust. Almost everyone has this and most people who are nice will be happy to see you drag it out of the basement, give it some new tires and lube, and ride off into the sunset.

The truth is that even a twenty year old mountain bike is not much different from a new one or a hundred year old one. Unless you are competing, any bicycle that fits you well and is appropriate for the terrain is a "good bike".

TL;DR: I learned that my bike was slow because of my fat ass, not the bike's lack of state of the art titanium hardware and carbon fiber.

I'm aware of that LEGO shop. Because I am actually trying to purge LEGO from my life, I must settle for pretending it does not exist. But I do need to sell some stuff, so maybe they do consignment.

Wow, biking is a huge thing haha. So I wrote it down on my things to do! Thanks guys :)
I spent over a decade believing I couldn't ride a bicycle ever again. It was not until I became actually disabled that I found out that they made cool stuff for people like me. Here's my custom built Catrike Road that you might find me riding on the local Rail Trails and MUP's around here. I'm so lucky that there is a trail a couple miles from my house that can access dozens of miles of trails that have no motorized vehicles on them. With a few more trail connections, a safe route from my home to Seattle, forty miles away will be a reality someday.

That's great. I'm pondering a new writing assignment as well.

Ive thought of writing a children's book about how to handle becoming disabled. Considering that I've never grown up one bit, I think I could do it. Can't be much harder than writing a book about the microbial community of freshwater sponges, and maybe someone might actually read it, ha! So many good ideas and only one broken old me to do just a few of them.....

Also, another thing about adults and LEGO. If an adult wanted to relive a childhood memory, I suggest buying a set from the "Creator" line. These sets include instructions for three different models and are designed to have a very versatile and mature inventory of pieces for free building your own vehicles and such. A set with pieces to build a car, a helicopter, and a robot will let you build a jet boat from your imagination. A Star Wars set will only give you the pieces to build that specific star wars set with little extra for the imagination. As an example, there is a discontinued red racecar set that sold for about $25 that I have yet to tire of the 300 or so pieces in its inventory. I have half a million bricks and I play with the same 300 much of the time because this set is just that good and I live the challenge of working from a limited but high quality pallets of bricks.

Go for it Chippy! Let me know if you ever want someone to proofread or give you an opinion :)

I really only have a content page, basically just notes and scribble but its progress, I think I can manage like 10 virtues so to speak with plenty of opinion, advice, and real world experience. Stuff like, not to seek approval from people, risk it for the biscuit, don't let your past define you, find what makes you happy, etc.

It's actually really thereaputic in some sense, but its too late for me to get into that now.

I've seen your 3D prints so I assume you have some artistic talent, should def draw and write a kids book!
