Silent Migraines After Vaping

Hey guys, I just joined this site this morning because I was looking for some opinions/advice.

I got into weed seriously in August of this year. It really varries how often I vape as I prefer to get stoned when I'm with friends but I would say maybe 3-7 times a week. I decided to invest in a vaporizer (extreme q) in maybe mid to late october. I have absolutely loved it and its my primary method of getting stoned.

Heres the problem: A few days ago, I decided to wake and bake. I've done it before and I enjoy it a lot but I only do it very occasionally. I had just got some new weed seeing as I ran out. The weed I had before I thought was really bad quality because I just had these half ass highs. Anyhoo, I had my friend over and we both decided to fill a bag (I never use the whip). My fave temp to vape at is around 194°c. So I filled my friends bag first and as she was vaping, she said it was really good shit. So I obviously got excited considering I had been having really shitty highs for a week or two. I normally vape about a bag. I got through maybe 2/3 of it and I stopped cause I was soooo high. It waa great. I hadn't been that high since I first started in August.

The problem lies here. After about 15 minutes, I got the weirdest sensation in my head. It wasn't painful but it felt like someone was pouring cool water on my scalp (it since then happens pretty much anywhere on my head). I would be constantly touching my head, somewhat expecting to feel something, but of course, nothing. Aside from that, nothing else disturbed my high.

For the past two days now since then, this feeling hasn't gone away. I mean, its not there all the time, it comes and goes. I had one migraine in addition to this and it was just the worst combo ever. Again, its not painful, just unsettling.

So my questions are basically the following:
1. I'm pretty sure this was weed induced seeing as I have no known health issues and I have never had this feeling before a few days ago. So, is it my vape or the weed? (I should add that I have had one similar experience with vaping where I got I think just a regular migraine. Left side of my head felt very full and achy.

2. Should I be worried? ( I have a docs appt in early Jan so I already plan to mention all of this to her.)

3. Has anyone had any similar experiences? If so, how did you resolve them?

I am someone who doesn't do a damn thing unless I research it thoroughly. Ergo, I have done a lot of research on forums like this for people with similar issues and haven't really found anything helpful );

Also, the reason I titled this "Silent migraines" is because I have done some more in depth research on migraines and have come to find out about silent ones. Its basically a form of migraine without the headache pain. I have quite a few if the symptoms but the one that pulled me in was "tingling or numbing feelings or other unusual body senations".

I'll be watching this post closely so feel free to ask questions. I seriously appreciate everyone who had taken the tine to read this and help me out (:

Well, I really can't help your situation - thought I had a similar experience, but it doesn't seem likely since you aren't using a butane powered vape.

Long story short, I was finding these aggravating slight headaches after a long vaporizing session with my Lotus vaporizer. It went on for a month until I saw someone mention butane can cause headaches. Looked up the symptoms and sure as shit I must have been inhaling too much unspent butane in my extended sessions in an un-ventilated room. As soon as I started to respect the butane and vape in open spaces, I have not had any other issues with headaches.

Sounds like you might have gotten some bad bud. I suggest you try a different strain and see if the problem persists.

It's either the bud or something in your whip, since the bags were fine for you. I would clean all my bowls and whip pieces before giving it another shot. Most likely the weed, though. Have you tried this new strain through your bags yet?

Does it feel more like a slight pressure, like you are wearing a headband? If so, does your strain have SourD in it? Do you have a scope/loupe to check for visible mold/critters? Was the product flushed properly of nutes?

Is it more of a tingling, tickling, pricking, numbing, or burning? If so, it could be caused by almost anything.

Magic9,
Its not the headband thing ^ Its more of a tingling/water dripping feeling. Its actually gone away now but my head just hurts now when I smoke. Today, I tried just using a pipe and putting aome kief in it. Like a very little amount...but nothing realy changed.

Also I forgot to mention that I think weed fucks up my sinuses...i get stuffdd up and I get sinus headaches. Sometimes. I haven't taken my sinus pills while smoking in a while so I think I'll clean everything and try that to see if it helps. I dont know really anything about the weed tbh which worries me. I would grow if I could do it without my parents knowing or with their permission but I don't see that happening..

This is really interesting. Back in the day when I was a newbie, I used to get a brain drip when I got medicated. It felt like the inside of my head was dripping/melting and it was very pleasant. I still get a similar response with a good sativa but it only occurs while I am high.

I've never heard of the effects continuing like that for such a long time after you've come down. But I will say that since I have re-sensitized my THC receptors, I do get a nice body tingle that lasts for hours after I've come down so it's not totally out there. Has it gone away yet?

Looks like a job for!
Was the product flushed properly of nutes?

If i had to guess, that sounds like the issue here.

To explain this to you @Corruptedcupcakez when bud is grown, like many things its common to use added fertilizers or other nutrients to help increase yield or potency.

However at the very end of the growing cycle you SHOULD allow the plants a large amount of water and cut out all added nutrients from their supply and allow this to proceed for quite a while, this is what is called "flushing."

Now if a grower is still learning, gets sketched out by jhonney law and pulls early, or for any other reason decided to crop out without allowing the plants proper time to flush then these nutrients are still trapped in the plant matter.

Vaping and or smoking stuff that has not been properly flushed can often given headaches, nausea and plenty of other undesirable effects. Unfourtanatly just by looking at some bud you can't really accuratly tell if it has been flushed properly.

The only accepted way of testing flushing I know of is to burn some and see if it crackles and how dark the ash gets, if its goes white then you are OK. If it crackles or remains only black after burning its still got impurities in it.

If you want to see it instead of read it:

In closing I would also like to note that it's quite well documented and studied that women in general get more migraines than men do, just something to consider.

Don't forget that things completely unrelated to cannabis consumption may cause your symptoms, like deep breathing during vaping triggering a simple partial seizure
http://www.epilepsy.com/learn/types-seizures/simple-partial-seizures

To further complicate things, sinus stuffiness can even be a seizure symptom-A runny nose is common after a temporal lobe seizure, for example.

The act of just breathing in hard has significant effects in susceptible people:

Another non cannabis consideration might be a pinched nerve in your neck. Are you deep breathing and holding in your hits for long periods?
