Kiss mini 510? Didn't know that was available. Mine are 601. I'm using a 601 Okeanos with a Persei 3.7v. Yes, it is nice not having to unscrew and load the Okeanos so often. The taste keeps going too.
Weird, my kiss mini's thread is too small for my omicron lite and minicron lite so I figured it was 510. I don't have anything 510 though so I have nothing to compare it to.

that would be impossible, please show me an image close up of the mini bottom thread, as we used the mini for testing on all our devices.

....I'm totally wrong, fits my other vapes fine. I guess I got too medicated before trying it on my other vapes and just brain farted. Thanks, pretty impressed with it dude. Now to get it in my okeanos.....

Maybe take a tube cutter and trim the kiss mini to make it shorter? Maybe that will work. Did this to my old EO carts a while back.

I have no idea what it is, but the black ceramic kiss carts and globe are the only carts that I have tried that the taste is only that of the concentrate, not any foreign flavors. I have tried a dozen atomizers and my omicron lite with the kiss cart is the best pen in the market. Maybe it is the slow heating, because I have tried others with tigr2 and they don't taste the same. The other carts with tigr2 tend to crush the dab in a more potent hit but don't like the taste.

Now next level is persei with hercules. It's that same pure taste with some power behind it.

Just got my Persei. Followed the directions to see if the Kiss cart is working by tapping the power to see if the coil get hot. It does but the cart smoked a little and gave off a horrible burnt chemical smell. Do I need to do a burn off?

That's the titanium oxidizing, one or two really quick taps fixes that issue, don't let the cart glow for more then half a second.

Here is my personnal herc trick working so far: feel the oil staying in the upper chamber. Cool down hits with enough pressure. Too much pressure and your mouth piece (or screen if you use it) gets gunked, not enough and the oil melts down in the 2nd chamber. All in my newb humble opignon
Thank you @spoutti for these tips. They are right on. I use them and all is good. This wasn't my problem though. I think the problem was my 8 top was not adjusted properly and therefore not getting the herc hot enough to vape BUT it was getting it just warm enough to thin out my material and leak into the bottom chamber and out the air holes on the side. Since somehow figuring out the adjustment on my 8 top the herc has been getting plenty hot and using your cool down techniques there is no noticeable leakage. I can now even take off the black heat shield to inspect without getting gunk everywhere. Thanks again.

Hey guys the 8 testing video says the hercules sr74 goes up to 1000 degrees, so what about the persei with 2 small battery + hercules sr74?
This video shows the 8 top heating the herc in about 12 seconds. Without this video I wouldn't have been able to get my top adjusted. I just turned the screw and if the herc rod didn't glow in 12 or so seconds I would re-adjust. Now I'm like an Indy pit crew on that button adjust. I can tear it down, adjust 1/8 turn, and put it back together and test in about 58 seconds. Best I could get was 15 seconds for the ceramic to glow red hot but now it works so well. Incredible actually. I can't believe how hard that was to get adjusted properly but that is behind me now and it's working better than I ever thought it would. Well worth the journey for this quality output.

So, I couldn't get me SR74 to fire last week and contacted @THC SCIENTIFIC to see what I should do. After a phone call to me, I got my Herc back in 2 days. I have to say I am beyond pleased with the customer service and the new Herc! My Herc has a bunch of new parts, fires up perfectly and tastes better than ever. I think the changes made to the new SR74 are a huge improvement.

So, if you are on the fence about dealing with W9, I'm here to tell you these guys are great and they are always improving their products!

I thought it couldn't get better when I first got their persei and EO carts way back. I quickly came to realize it just never stops getting better lol. I love how all their products suit different needs/concentrate-types.

newVaper420,
Ok...I just bought one of these on October 1st 2014. It worked well...literally once. It appears to be a well designed product, but it is not easy to use and very expensive to maintain. After buying the Persei body with a 7.4 volt cartridge, I bought 5 more within two weeks. Basically, you cannot hold the button of the machine down for more than 2-3 seconds, if you do, the wire wrapped around the wick burns out. The company does sell a "Rebuild Kit". However, the kit has no instructions. I was foolish enough to buy one after speaking to the nice folks at the company who told me to search the internet, I'd find something. So, theoretically it is easy to rebuild. But in actuality because of the size and lack of instructions, it's not so easy. (Before I go on, I may not be the sharpest tool in the box, but I did recently get straight A's in O-Chem, Physics, Bio, lecture and lab). First attempt, guess what, shorted out the Persei. For 10 or 15 or 20 dollars they repaired it. They sent me two more 7.4V cartridges. These lasted a little bit longer, but they are designed to burn out and be rebuilt. I did eventually rebuild one last night. Not worth the hassle. I ended up asking myself: Are tobacco vapers going through bullshit like this? Probably, not. This Persei is a great concept, but just doesn't work well. If you do get it, it might only be worth getting with the Hercules attachment that they have on the site. According to someone I spoke to one the phone there, they are unbreakable. But, they are 100$. After all that I spent on the Persei, 6 cartridges, a globe (which arrived defective and non-funtioning), a ohm/voltage reader (which doesn't come with the adapter for the Persei--to check voltage), I simply can't give these people any more money. I'm back to my domeless quartz nail, while I research making a box-mod or mech-mod for our purposes from the tobacco side of the aisle. Good luck. If you do get the Persei, or go with another, let me know how it goes. The customer service is good, btw.

At 7.4 you shouldnt be holding the button that long... its designed to be pulsed. Get a 3.7 k cart and you can hold that button all day if thats your thing.

Edit: yes the herc is the shit tho... and i have only had 1 3.7 kiss cart and still works after 3 months

@YouShouldTap_Shatter I wish that you had posted about your problems here a long time ago, because a little information would've saved a lot of unnecessary frustration! You are correct that you cannot and should not attempt to hold down the button of the Persei with a KISS cart at 7.4V for more than 2 seconds. If you take a look at how quickly the wire heats to a hot, glowing red when you push the button, this might help to understand how to use the 7.4 KISS a little better. Your username is amazingly appropriate as the 7.4V KISS require tapping the button for proper use.

I personally find the best results to be about a half second on, half second off. Letting off the button not only cools the wire, ceramic, and oil ensuring better flavor but lets the oil 'run' back towards areas now devoid of oil, that were just vaporized- So the next button tap has oil to vaporize and the oil also keeps the wick cool which prevents them from breaking constantly like you've been doing.. Several seconds of continual 7.4V power can kill cartridges fast, as you have discovered. The correct technique will make the carts last a long time.

If you want to be able to hold down the button for a few seconds continually, I would highly recommend the 3.7V KISS. A single 18650 or 18350 battery with a shorty tube would let you run one of those, or the Globe. I can hold the button for 20 seconds straight with the 3.7v, Ti KISS Globes. And I often do, and haven't broken a single Ti coil yet.

I am curious what battery configuration you used with the Globes that "arrived defective" and I am curious if you have tried to use the Persei in the lower voltage 3.7V mode. I'm very sorry to hear that you have has such problems, and I'm here to help you out.

The cart rebuilds require the use of a DVOM / multimeter to verify it's done correctly or it could indeed short out your vaporizer. If you aren't familiar with the usage of one of those, the rebuild kit is not for you. I think the rebuild kits are geared towards electronics enthusiasts and those with experience building coils for e cigarettes and rebuildable atomizers. If you were to go purchase the parts inside the rebuild kit from somewhere like rtdvapor or kidney puncher they would not come with any instructions either. However simply emulating what already exists (as far as number of wraps on the wire and the way the wire is crimped) and just putting it back together the opposite way it comes apart is usually the way these things go. I have only rebuilt carts with Kanthal wire and have not used the UP Tech rebuild kit, yet. I did find DieHard's rebuild tutorial to be a helpful resource when rebuilding.

Let me know if you are in need of an 18650 battery, I have plenty extra, and could send you one if you need it.

If someone could help me here it would be appreciated. I try to understand, this chart says I should get the same clouds.I recently got an hercules sr74x and made some abslotue qwet run. I decided to just use my absloute 1st wash in my new herc sr74x. My problem is that at 8.4v on the core, I get thinner clouds, even if I ride the button for over 10sec from the vapor starts forming, than with my sr71 at 6.5v and my non-winterized concentrate. I ride the button between 4-5sec from the vapor started forming. Any longer and I get an harsh cloud. I use 1 coil in both.

J7o3XGd.jpg

Could it be the lack of waxes giving thinner clouds? Im in no position to judge my medicatedness; I happily abused my new toy and qwet run recently :smug:

Dude, I feel you. I killed 3 7.4v kiss carts in 2 weeks and thought I had defect globe kiss as well.

I thought the 7.4v kiss carts were supposed to taste like hash and hot knives. But when I devised a tech similar to samuraisam, it actually tasted nice! Plus I havent killed a cart in the following 4 weeks doing little button taps.

As for your globe cart, try an 18650 aw imr battery. Thas what solved my problem for 3.7v missfires in general.

But if you can take more $ damage and suffer a difficult learning curve, the hercules is the shit. Once you get it, its a tasteful and nearly no maintenance ride.

SamuraiSam,

Thanks for the information. With the two, most recent 7.4v cartridges, I did use a one second tap technique; it worked great--just not for a long time. I'll try 1/2 second taps when I rebuild another cartridge.

In terms of the globe, I did use the 18650 battery. (I had the 18650 battery for the 3.7v cart.) For some reason, it was impossible to draw (inhale) with the globe. The glass cracked, then cut the red o-rings.

In terms of the rebuild. I can see that it is very easy to do if you have experience or directions. I was eventually able to do it, however it was a pretty arduous process. It's arduous because I'm inefficient. I looked at DieHards's rebuild tutorial. My questions about the rebuild process have to do with technique. There aren't many parts, it's not terribly complicated. But what is difficult and what there must be some trick to doing is, say, wrapping the wire around the wick. Do you heat the wire first? Do I heat it after wrapping? Should I not be heating it at all? The mechanics are very straight forward, but I haven't worked with titanium wire and a tiny wick before. Sure, I can brute-force a cartridge in a couple of hours, but I'm imagining that there exist some tricks/best practices for doing this fairly easily. I think I have enough parts in the rebuild kit to give it one more shot. I'll let you know how it goes.

I should add, that at this point, I'm rebuilding my kiss cartridges for the challenge that it presents. When it works it's close to perfection, but I imagine I'll probably need to get the hercules eventually.

I'm still using my first and only 7.4v kiss since august 2014, 10 hits/day in average, I use more my hercule and donut, if they can find a way to load it/scrap it without the pia unscrew/screw I can use it more!
