I'm so confused. My Air worked perfectly normal all day today and now it's acting up again at work.

it just heated up on blue like normal, I took one hit to warm up the bowl and then when it tried to reach temperature again it started flashing sporadically. I turned it off and back on, it started flashing sporadically again and turned itself off.

What a trip. Just my luck to get the only faulty unit. Gonna send Arizer an email and see what they say.

@green.on.green I'd be extra careful with putting hash in it, especially that creamy sharas or whatever you call it, you don't want it to melt and run down the inside of the air, even within a weed sandwich I'd be worried, plus that'd probably be a pain to clean. Since you're new to vaping here's my best piece of advice from one noob to another: keep your vape clean! I've screwed up an ascent (my first vape) that way to the point it's now retired for good, for my defense it's a pain in the butt to clean, the air is much easier to clean but still... basically I've quit hash now for that reason (used to get that Moroccan one, tasty but messy).

@GreenOnGreen,

Nice review and tips, man. No need to apologise for the length of the post. And don't let @green.on.green give you any shit for stealing his name. He's even more palindromically challenged than you are.

Looking forward to getting an Air but just pulled the trigger on a Daisy. Busting for the release of the VAP 3 too. It's gonna be a good year in vaping.

Thanks for kicking my VAS up a notch, mate.

I wasn't giving him any shit.. :)

And my lack of knowledge is due to never have met anyone in my country with a vape .. Hence starting from scratch..
Peace..

Thanks mate,

I had read about similar issues with charas being used in the solo.. I think there is a technique to vape it with some cotton involved.. Need to read up proper and only then take the risk ..

I ll play safe with my AA.. Thanks again :)

I know you weren't really giving him shit. Was just joking around with you, mate. The intent sometimes gets lost in the text.

Interesting to hear your experiences with the Air. Hope you get it dialled in to your satisfaction soon.

Sorry to learn that, would a hard reset work? Perhaps you might try completely draining the battery.

Being in its infancy, it shouldn't be having issues.

On the positive side, if it is indeed a warranty issue, while it is a PITA, you have Arizer to honor it.

Still, a PITA.

My newest theory is a problem with the temperature sensor that controls the heat cutoff. it looks normal while its heating but when it gets to the temperature it should be it starts getting conflicting signals to cutoff heat or keep heating, which causes the rapid, sporadic flashing light, and also causes it to overheat which is why it combusted my herb.

Does anyone have insight into the heat cutoff sensors?

Thanks, I don't think it's a battery issue because the same thing happened with two seperate batteries. How do I hard reset?

Have you TESTED your batteries, seems that a corrupted battery can cause the unit to malfunction.

IIRC, on the older Solo, a hard reset is done without the battery, and a Power Adapter.

However, I would consult the high priests of the forum first.

40 degrees is balmy, it is 7 degrees F here in Massachusetts.

Even that is not extreme, it's going down to minus something in some states tonite.

Your baby should be just fine.

Bummer. Any chance we're looking at a battery/charge issue here? I keep track and recharge before hitting bottom, but when I tried it out 'down there' I got some strange stuff......

Anyway, how confident are you the charge was sufficient?

Be cautious buying on eBay. If something happens and the unit stops working you want to be able to return it. If it's not an authorized vendor you can't use your warranty. It's buyer beware.
I dont know if thats actually true. Not saying it isnt true but for the arizer solo AFAIK that is not the case. I have not heard of any cases being denied by arizer. And if I remember correctly I think even arizer said they would service "non-authorized" solos as well.

I notice that happening to mine when I draw too hard on mine, starts blinking to raise the temperature. I think when you draw too hard, the heating part becomes cooler and the air is trying to compensate, so it might be malfunctioning at that part?

The only time anything wierd happens with mine is when I'll be using it with the charger then instead of letting it auto shut I'll go to manually shut it and the colors bug out but it then just goes back to normal charging.

My air has been a gem so far just like my solo was for 3-4 great years

Really? You mean Arizer will service the many knockoff "AIR"s soon to be flying into the feeding frenzy.

Wunnerful.

Also, ( kiddin!).

Hey all , i recently bought a few custom glass blown stems for my air but they were marketed for the solo and did not fit my unit without having to really squeeze them in there. They stretched out my o-rings also in the unit but i can fix that with new o-rings. I have sent them back to the glass blower with my longer stock stem and they are going to try and make them the same so i will post my conclusion in the next week or two and it should be a good option for us looking for extra stems. Also my short stem that came with the air got a tiny little crack in it at the very end i think while i was washing it in the sink , it kinda looks like 1 of the slots those phve stems have. i have to say after i got that crack my clouds and airflow have improved greatly , airflow is still a bit restricted but i am really liking it allot now. I recently got a goboof alfa also and i feel the air is so much better for me , The air is tastier and uses less material to get you feeling nice.

Never seen a knock off Solo anywhere.
There was people "selling" them cheap from supposedly China on eBay but you had to wait 2-3 weeks to ship.
I posted about it.
They never had the Solo to begin with, they "sold" a bunch and by the time 3 weeks rolled around the$$ and sellers were long gone although ebay covered the buyer. Total scam

I bought one of my Solos on eBay and Arizer warrantied it. Just under two years old. I didn't even think of the ebay seller when I had a problem ,Arizer wanted a receipt which I had.
The ebay vendors with the AIR are all in Canada and no negative feedback for any Solo.
I guess an email to Arizer may help.
And usually the ebay vendor handles the warranty themselves.

@SlightlyStonedSD
Do you have a meter to check the charger?
And did you try using the Air plugged in?

Anyone who has had Air cutoff, did you have sleeve on?
I ran 3 back to back sessions a few times with no problem.but I don't use the sleeve.
This thing does a great job, used it with the smaller stem out doors and never get a second look.
Ordered two more batteries and the black sleeve.

I

Have started packing it light now.. It wasn't really packed too tight last night, but yes a bit maybe..

There is almost no vapour on blue temp

and like 2-5% vapour (in comparison to videos on ytube) maybe on the white temp..

Green is where I figure I need to start direct, maybe it's the kind of weed..
But Green starts to give me some visible vapour.. 20-25% of what I would expect

I am gonna keep playing more and crack this, I want big clouds :\
No visible vapor has probably something to do with the weed. I get visible vapor on blue even with a very loose pack

One CND vendor, different pricing.

The first one to hit FleaBay is in Scottsdale, AZ. Only wants $350, or so.

Should vaporize soon, as the Canadian seller is underpricing him, it claims to be a small family venture, down the road from Arizer, so have access to Air, fresh off the assembly floor.

I am kinda gullible. Fresh air, hmmm.

I saw that too,but $350 for one?
That's above Arizer $259. Don't make sense.
At least Canada is offering 2 batteries at about the same $199ish price. Not a bad deal.

Yeah, Skool of Capitalism.

2 Batteries? Wha.

What do you mean you got strange stuff "down there"?

My Air doesn't work with either of my 2 batteries(they are charged) or plugged in now. Now it just heats up for longer than normal and then shuts itself off.

it's hard for me to keep track of my battery because sometimes I have 10 min sessions, sometimes 3 minutes.

I charge it when I think I'm getting close to empty and I'm gonna be away from the charger for a bit.

@SlightlyStonedSD

I don't have a meter but I would be willing to buy one if they aren't too costly, can you or anyone recommend one?

it doesn't work plugged in either.

At the bottom of the charge. When you're close to the end, the extra load of trying to heat can push it over the line.

Again, how confident are you the batteries are sufficiently charged? If in doubt I suggest charging for a couple hours and trying again? A depleted battery will keep it from working 'even when plugged in'.
