Hassle-Free Portable Vape? Does it exist?

I also already have Magic Launch Box, which is OK, but I greatly dislike having to push the battery into the hole with so much force that makes my hand tired fast. Maybe it is just my unit... I also hate having to draw real slow and unable to evenly vaporizer the entire bowl without some parts being over-vaped brown, while others still green. I did follow instructions, but its tedious and frustrating.

I understand portable vaporizers are not going to be as good as stationary ones, which means I am totally cool if you tell me that all portable vaporizers are like that or they all require a lot of maintenance, cleaning, replacing, without hassle-free performance. But maybe, just maybe, there is something for me out there??? I care for it being small, discrete, easy-to-use (loading, unloading, cleaning), hassle-free performance, where I don't have to hold some battery in real hard or have to draw real slow. I just want it to heat up without any physical effort other pressing a button gently and draw moderately-thick and even vapor.

If you are after top quality reliably functioning vaporizer, I would suggest the Crafty/Mighty or both, as I went with.

Basically, I have owned a number of portables, the PNP, Solo, Lotus, Crafty and Mighty and I've got to say that not until I had the Mighty/Crafty combo have I killed my combustion habit.

I've had plenty of great plug-ins to keep me from combusting at home for ages. There are plenty of tried and true options there. However, I must agree with you that most portables are a hassle in some way.

The Solo is just too big to pocket. It has a large bowl, defaults to glass stems which are absolutely not good for the pocket without some serious care and special cases. It also doesn't produce the taste that the Mighty/Crafty do and cannot come close to the clouds that these vapes produce.

The PNP was a complete clusterfuck. I feel that I have posted enough detailed explanation of my experience over in the PNP thread to warrant this statement. Melting plastic, poor clouds, easily broken parts, terrible service from manufacturer all sent me far, far away from this vape.

The Lotus is great. I loved it. Of course, it gets fucking hot after you use it (torch lighter on a nickel plate) and is not going straight back into your pocket without special container either.

Enter the Crafty/Mighty.

The Mighty is the big one. It has enough battery at full charge to last a full day's vaping and then some. IME with my high tolerance and medical needs, it is the only battery powered portable I've ever used that does this for flowers. It is super simple to use, one button to turn temp up 1 degree and one to turn down (from extremely low temps all the way up to 410f). It has a bright LED screen which displays the set temp and the temp in the chamber (?). There is also an on/off button.

However, it won't fit in a pocket if you want to put anything else in that pocket as well. Think of it like the new big phones (your iphone 6/6+ size and then imagine a couple inches extra depth. Those are the kinda dimensions we are talking).

What it will do is whitewall your pieces all day or give you delicious low temp but high cloud hits reliably day in and day out.

I can't stress enough that the taste on the Mighty and Crafty beats anything I've tasted, and I've owned an E-Nano, Sublimator XLR 2.0 and frequently used the Cloud Plus.

The Crafty is the small one. It has enough battery for a morning's/Evening's outing for 1-2 people. But it charges on USB (mighty doesn't) and can be used while charging so long as the battery has 20% or so charge. It has the same taste and cloud capabilities as the Mighty (that is to say best in a portable on both counts) but does not have the temp control buttons or display on the unit.

Instead it connects to an iPhone or some Android phones (must have bluetooth 4.0 LE) through an app and allows you to fully control the temperature, set the brightness of external lights, turn on/off the vibrate feature (vibrates when unit is at temp).

Which one will suit you is your decision. Just know that these are expensive devices for the vapist who doesn't want to jerk around with poor quality and wants to just jump into the best portable vaping experience that exists right now. I don't use these words lightly! They are also completely function over form and do not look particularly pretty (but don't look bad either IMO).

Malfunctions are not directly proportional to portability. There are all kinds and grades of portables. While it may be more likely to have problems with a portable than a plug-in vape, when you consider the whole vape market, that's because there are more companies producing inexpensive portables and trying to squeeze features like digital control into the smaller housings.

I know many fellow board members will roll their eyes that I keep suggesting it - but I love the simplicity of my Indica vape - it's the first portable vape I owned which I feel comfortable buying and giving to my friends who still combust. It's easy to load, and use, and requires no maintenance to keep the device running (In fact, the new Noir version is great - I have only needed to pull the mouthpiece and soak it in ISO once a month).

In a head to head competition between the PAX and the Indica, the Indica wins in every way, except size (but the Indica is still plenty stealth enough for me!)

But as other's have said there are many options on the market, and new ones hitting the market every day! (Though I typically prefer to avoid any new vape until the bugs have been worked out of the design)
