It doesn't really lock into the housing. It is more wedged into the housing so I guess it's kind of just held in by "friction". If you hold it upside down for a little while it will fall out.
The L.E.D. could actually be seen through the housing. I have the blue housing, I don't know if it is visible through the black housing. However you really don't need to see the L.E.D. to use the Puffit2, it is more for setting temp. and checking battery life.
Happy Vaping!!!

They will be selling the body soon they said so it won't matter what color you pick you can have both .one for pure stealth at night and nice old medical blue as I call it lol. I also think the mouth cover should be made of the same material as the body. I also feel they should just remove the first two heat levels it's just way to low, they should raise it and this would improve this vape so much.

I have one question.
Does the P2 shut down or turn off the power after each hit (so it's not using up any battery power between hits) making it a true one hit then put it away and not worry about it until the next hit kind of vape (like engaging the battery on a mf or palm 2) ? TIA.

Hope that makes sense.

This following statement is very misleading. I don't know why it is even part of the Puffit2 description on the Gotvape website.
"PUFFiT 2 Portable Vaporizer Automatic Shut Off
A 3-minute automatic shut off safety feature is built into the PUFFiT 2 Portable Vaporizer ......."

I don't believe there to be any 3-min. automatic shut off. Now that we have that out of the way let's answer your question.

From what I have experienced, Yes, the Puffit2 turns off after every hit or roughly 12 seconds after every hit. Let me try to explain by breaking down a typical session.
To start the Vaporizer you compress it for about 5-7 seconds. This begins a series of short "heart beat" like vibrations after about 30-45 seconds two long vibrations will let you know that the proper temp has been reached. For 12 seconds the red L.E.D. will be lit up and you will not be able to start the "heat up / vibration sequence". After 12 seconds the red L.E.D. will turn off. I believe at this point the heater is now off so again you must compress the Vaporizer to start the "heat up / vibration sequence". This usually goes on for another 10 - 15 hits before I stop seeing vapor. I hope that helps and doesn't confuse you to much.

Thanks for all these indications on how the puffit 2 performs. I gather that this unit is much improved over previous versions and could be a contender for a portable on the go unit.

So Vapehunter would you say that the puffit 2 is a solid "one hitter" device?

I never used the other "Puffit" Vaporizers so I can't really comment on the differences. From what I read the first two versions had a really bad plastic taste. If I get the Puffit2 hot enough I can still get a little plastic flavor but it's not always there.
And Yes this is a nice "one hitter".

Thanks much. Your explanation seems spot on for what I wanted to know, as in how it works in actual use.

I actually have one on the way and should have it in the next few days, just wanted something simple for getting those few pick up hit's when 'out & about' for my few hours a week to mainly keep nausea at bay until i get back home and not for getting vaked outa my mind, been using my little lithe for this the last few years and need a change. Sounds like this may work.

I was just so close to pulling the trigger and taking a risk on his Puffit 2 device last night as I am attracted to it as a "one hitter" type of device. But then I reached for my MFLB and with its true on demand vapour, I decided to hold back on the Puffit. Question is whether there is anything the Puffit does that is substantially different or better than the magic flight? I'm not so sure at this point and would rather keep my 100 bucks if I can....but you know the old VAS creeps in sometimes!!

Anyone know if I Can you charge the P2 battery with something like An ipod or ecig (TVape) USB plug-in transformer thing ?
The sole USB port on my computer isn't so useful if I'm not sitting using it because it goes to sleep every 15 minutes and shuts off the port (kind of a pain in the ass).

So far I've done 5 chambers with the P2 (came in yesterdays mail) and am rather impressed with it's design and function, it does have a bit of a plastic taste and smell from the inhaler body but I'm pretty sure that'll mostly be gone with more use, cleaning and just plain airing out the body over time (at least i hope so).

Right now I believe this will fill the needs I bought it for, mainly for pulling off a quick few hits while waiting in parking lots as I play chauffeur carting people to doctors and shopping a few times a week.

This little thing works pretty well if your not chasing clouds, so far so good. It'll be Better when I can charge it from the wall though.

USB is a standard, so it should work just fine. Wall warts usually deliver more mA than a computer port so it should speed up charging.

Thanks Pakalolo I was hoping that was the case, just wasn't certain enough to go ahead and do it. Modern electronics/batteries aren't strong points for me so even though it seemed it should work I needed some reassurance.

I have a USB wall charger from a old ecig that is the same as the one for the TVape and both seem to put out the same charge as my ipod charger, just a little more then the USB port on my computer.

I did see now where they say in their instructions that you should use an "Approved USB charger" whatever 'approved' means. And I do now see they sell one USB wall charger for the puffit and another for the puffit 2 and wonder what the difference is.

i'm enjoying the flavor of the puffit 2 on temps 2-3 quite a bit now. The hits are really airy but tasty and taking 4-6 hits on each temp starting on 2 and ending on 4 gave me a nice couple little sessions tonight (would be even nicer if you could finish with a few hits on temps 5 or 6, this could stand a couple higher temps), not the biggest buzz maker but not bad either.

Just recieved mine in the mail today ( got the black varient looks really nice and discrete), now im just waiting for the battery 2 charge up.
quick question how long did it take u guys to charge it and did u do a burn off if so how many times since i beleive it shuts off every 12 seconds after a heatup?

$unnyblaq

@RUDE BOY I feel you about the temps I usually only use 4 because I like a good hit. If this bad boy just had higher temps this would be awesome ,that and maybe a longer heat cycle last more than 12 seconds for optimal heating of the herbs. But im glad you and @VAPEHUNTER like it and that I'm not only in this thread lol .

Happy puffing

@$unnyblaq yeah the Puffit 2 kinda surprised me, I like it a lot.

How's Discreet vapes shipping to the U.S. from Hong Kong ? I placed an order for an extra battery and charger along with a case, pretty sure the puffit 2 is going to get more use then i planned on. It proved to be a decent sit back sipping vape last night because I needed to be discreet with a tool that a 10 and 13 year old wouldn't find interesting or out of place, two bowls and thirty or forty hits latter I was blitzed (quite nice).

Wow! it's been a while, with the new year work has just been crazy. @RUDE BOY I also ordered an extra battery from Discreet Vape and shipping was just shy of two weeks from Hong Kong to Las Vegas. It was shipped "China post" or something like that but U.S.P.S. delivered it.

A couple nights ago I was watching a movie with the little lady and didn't want to be annoying with the torch sound of my hammer or the lighter for my Vapman so I pulled out my P2 loaded it up with some herb, some Kief, and a little more herb, set it to level 4 sat back and by the time I was done I was feeling amazing.
This little thing does pack a nice punch!

I picked up my P2 last night, took her home, washed up the housing, Q-tipped the innards with alcohol, charged up the battery, burned in a few cycles, loaded her up with a medium course grind, and ripped away on temps 3 and 4. Maybe 4 or 5 hits total, making close to 10 cycles with the burn in.

My battery now shows 3 of four bars, so battery life is looking quite promising so far. It charged fast! Maybe an hour or so. I expect it will take longer when fully drained.

No massive clouds but I felt exactly what I was hoping for, a moderate, managable effect. My hits were spaced apart by some time, I am pretty sure when the oven is hot tha consecutive hits will produce more visible vapour.

This is by far the most conveniently discrete vape I've ever seen that is a proper vape, not a fancy electronic pipe or pen that combusts.

The haptic feedback and convenience of the single heat-hit procedure make this vape a true one hit wonder (like me kind of with my purposeful low tolerance). A two hit wonder maybe because it's really the second hi that delivers once the oven has been hot for a minute or so. The first cycle is really just a warm up.

People sometimes liken vapes to automobiles, and this vape made me think of my old 76 datsun 210 coupe. A little wonder that could hit the windy roads of BC with ease, and just give'er!

I'll be taking this one out and about from now on.

As I play around more with this vape, I'm finding that a conscious, long, slow draw makes a massive difference. So far I've only packed a medium-course grind and fairly loose in there (not compressed down at all).

Will try the fine grind and test various degrees of packing down in there.

Have other users experimented much using different grinds or packing techniques?

$unnyblaq

I pack it down alot I try to stuff as much as I can to try to get a full conduction effect kind of like the pax oven. I take a very long slow draw and get okay visible vapor, but I cough when I use it which is rare with vapes for me.I also use a very fine grind I use that type of grind with all my vaporizers.

$unnyblaq

yeah I really can't stand filling this unit at all it's super messy. if I pack it down I use the poker that came with it. The end is round and I use that to push it down shold work fine it does for me.

As I use this more and more I like the experience it brings. on my break the other day I used this and it was awesome, it worked very well and it was about 25 degrees in New York. I was walking the street hitting it and I didn't feel weird using it and got no looks at all. It does tend to smell just a bit but it is a conduction vape, so if you wanna quick vape to hit this might be what your looking for.
