Do I need to jerry rig the e mod myself or can I buy one that fits the crafty chamber. I have no idea whst I'm even asking. I'd like some various mouthpiece options for the Crafty and wondered if there was an easy way to replace the plastic stem with a glass piece or must I go replacing the cooling chamber ? While I like the above piece I'm looking for something small that might add a slight cooling effect.

When testing the volcano are you leaving the herb chamber on or removing it between bag fills?

Because if you leave the thing on the heat source it will cook the herb more and result in darker ABV.

edit.

In my experiments, if I finish a bowl on my Crafty @ 185 (no more vapor) my volcano will still produce vapor from that ABV even at the same temp.

No i always remove the bowl when the ballon is filled.

This is absolutely wrong. I can char my bud easily with my LSV and it is 100% convection. Same can be said for all of the 100% convection vapes from 7th Floor.

This is not absolutely wrong as in lot of forums persons prefere the convection of the volcano because it cant make char ... My case also... I dont think that a good convection vap that can make char bud could be considered as a good vap but its my opinion. A good company of vaporization really caring about health should make enough R&D to avoid your bud to char i think..

Here's a quite a few sesh worth. The black bits are Ash

I have place the same image under different backgrounds black and white to compare the effect

This was taken under halogen light, which I have then adjusted to match the real thing but this is also done under halogen light (my vision that is). Tomorrow I'll take a pic of it again but this time under real outside light to compare ...

is that at max temp? its definitely a lighter shade of brown than mine.

oli, how many bubblers do you have? which would you recommend as the best?

Pretty much dismisses every convection vape I've ever owned and loved.

I am very sorry to hear that but what your moral says ? Mine is that char bud equal bad vap..

It's the first thing that i noticed after seeing the crafty's abv is how darker it was compared of my volcano's one. Then i understood that the volcano was very respectfull of my bud because even at 230° Celcius there is no char and to do a such magic operation you need a lot of power that will never get you a small battery that's why they use a little conduction to boost the all thing with the crafty.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too

I dont think so. I can make a test if you wish. Let material on the volcano at 230 during one minute and see ? Two minute maybe ?

Is that needed to do a such test because its obviously two different method to vap, one with a ballon and not the other, but the facts are showing that the volcano way is better for health regarding the abv.

I hesitated to post a photo with the 3 abv, crafty, plenty and volcano to show you because the volcano's one is clear in comparison.

My Mighty would probably take the herb that dark but I never tried. I usually stop once flavor gets non pleasant yet there is still more vapor.

I have been packing straight nugs the last couple of weeks and prefer it to grinding right now. A big reason is there is nothing on the top screen after a session and the dump is as simple as plucking out the nug with the tool. I also feel like I get a better initial taste with nugs that gives me more hits before I dump ( I dump when flavor goes south) .

All of my top, unsupported fins have broken off. No big deal since I can't see a negative effect this would have, plus even a replacement will have this problem until they do a change.

That just happened...
I received my crafty today to compliment my mighty. Wow is it small to pack such a punch. For it's first use I pumped up the temp to 210 and used my 18mm adapter. It worked just like the mighty which is to say incredible. S&B has definitely cracked the code!

Yes it all ends up at max temp but not for long, as soon as the archness comes out cause lately I got caught with two very unpleasant hits, mega harsh on my throat both times through a bubbler. Which is weird cause I've never had this before and abuse he received :goon:

As you have both the mighty and crafty. Is there any other reason to have mighty than it's extended battery? I just wanted to know, as I was considering one.:brow:

Almost there...
Just hit my Crafty again!
I tried the WT and the MiniVap bowl setup again! For science!!:science:

At first i heated the Crafty up to my usual start temp, 180.
Small clouds with pretty decent flavour.
Then i remembered that BOOST button!!!
Heated the Crafty to MAX and ripped!
Managed to get 5 very nice milky hits!!
Used 1 bar of battery and i am feeling very medicated!!!

I have the Mighty (and I LOVE it), and would order a Crafty in a sec if it came with 3 good presets for temps. I do not want to deal with using another piece of technology to use it, although I'm sure the ap works pretty well.

Thanks @Stu ! The 14mm version sits about 15mm into the mouthpiece, while the 18mm is around 20mm.

What depth do you think would work better? (Note you can always trim shorter if necessary with a sharp razor blade).

These will be going on sale shortly, I'm casting the first few right now

Funny that I can push either of them down to the base of the mouthpiece with little effort. I guess the 14mm version doesn't pay attention to the 'stop' inside where the shape changes from oval to circular. It stretches to fit quite easily.

Is there a practical reason that the internal "shape change" / "stop" occurs before the angled "GonG" part starts? Maybe that point can be lowered into the angled section?

In any case, they work great and I thank you for taking on this project!

Not really intentional, just where it ended up - probably to make the silicone as thick as possible. I can always modify now that I have the necessary dimensions saved on these models.

I'll play around with the molds and re-print. - Anyone interested in these early prototype designs shown in Stu's video can PM me directly. Until then I'll hold off from publishing them on my etsy store directly

I love the opportunity, and I need the feedback to make the best product I can.

Just ordered a new 26:1 Thrust Ratio Caulking Gun so I can give my poor hands a bit of mechanical advantage! I can feel some discomfort in my hand after several months of casting a bunch of SonG's.

A few questions,

1. What is the easiest, cheapest way to hook this up to a water pipe. As in no modifications needed it just works out of the box
2. how does the vapor production and quality compare to top tier plug in vapes? I've only ever used a MFLB in terms of vaporizers and it never got me high like smoking did? Will the crafty provide me a similar potent high that smoking does

ooops I forgot to answer but kinda suits me now :brow: thanks to @Ratchett and @Stu

Just in case you've missed it:

@Ratchett is the cilicone you're using resistant the heat? does such products exist anyway for your kind of use ? cause if it does it be marvelous to clone the E-mod with variable mouth fitting ( 18 F 18 M 14 F 14 M) I'll have one of each pleeeeeeeeeeease

Edit: sorry if this has already been asked but how about in ceramic, porcelain?

This material
  • is foodsafe
  • is watertight
  • is recyclable
  • not dishwasher safe
Ceramics are heatproof to 500ºC / 932ºF degrees. Higher temperatures may significantly change material properties.

Kinda obvious but this is definitely truer to the real thing, color wise that is

  1. All you need is a vapor hose adapter and a small piece of tubing. Pic and video below.
  2. Yes. The Crafty should satisfy you well.

http://www.shapeways.com/materials/ceramics

The Silicone I use is Aquarium Grade Silicone Sealant - it's non-toxic when cured. Depending on which manufacturer specs you read - it's heat safe up to 450F or 500F - you'll notice none of my SonG designs come into contact with that direct high heat - by the time the vapor hits my silicone - it's way below 300F. I have taken a torch to this stuff with very little reaction - next up I'll put a plate of it on a stove and see what happens when exposed to extremely high heat for long periods of time

I was attempting to design Waterpipe adapters from Ceramic for the Herbalizer - it was a painful 1 month turnaround between prototypes - and the tolerances were shit - up to 1mm variance between prints! Ultimately I was unable to produce a proper ceramic part before Shapeways pulled the plug on Ceramic 3D printing (their partner for ceramic 3D printing wasn't meeting deadlines and QC requirements).

I am currently waiting for information from Shapeways on their new Porcelain material, but it's not available currently (expected later this year). Once available, I will look into designing a porcelain WPA which would bypass/replace the Crafty's cooling unit.

Once 3D printed porcelain hits the market, I would certainly be willing to work with you on an E-mod adapter - PM me

Though this is getting off topic - for more discussion on silicone please refer to my official FC thread - http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/custom-3d-printed-vape-accessories-delta-3d-studios.13220/

Again, anyone interested in early prototype Crafty SonG's can PM me now. I will be working on tweaking the designs today and possibly re-printing later tonight.
