The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

Did anyone smell anything the first time they used it, as in a plastic kinda smell. I did do a flashlight test and there definitely were no visible fumes coming from anywhere, just a smell. For any snowboarders that may be on here, it reminds me of the smell of hot waxing a board (iron and wax).

I notice that any post (some here and elsewhere) talking of a plastic smell/taste refers to the cooling unit as the source but I don't think the cooling unit smells or tastes like anything, but there was definitely a smell from the heating chamber at first that has now dissipated, but still remains somewhat. I'm curious if anyone else noticed this, and maybe the initial taste or smell that was thought to come from the cooling unit was or is really from the heating chamber?

as a general rule with all vaporizers i usually turn it on and let it run at max temp for a bit to burn off any fumes in the manufacturing process. though as far as i'm aware storz and bickel dont mention this in their manual so i'm sure it's fine.

MGG,
A friend of mine is considering getting the mighty. Unfortunately we live in a country where often all we can get is hash. How easy is it to use hash in the mighty? I own a solo and it works quite well with hash, sandwiched between 2 layers of cotton.

Is the mighty difficult to load with hash? I'm trying to picture doing it as with the solo the stem just comes out and can pack it relatively easily. Do you split a liquid pad, put the hash in between and drop it in the bowl? I have AVB and have used hash sandwiched in that in the Solo, but prefer using cotton, it's easier to load.

yes it's easy as fuck to load [way easier than the solo] and comes with a liquid pad and screens for hash.

Once again the mighty doesn't hold up to well in cold weather. I just had 3 bars and heated my unit to 190c it started at 10c. Now my low battery is blinking:\. That's a let down because I'm out side most of the time I use it. Anyone else experence shit like this and/or does anyone have a solution?

I used to use my SOLO with Ash a lot, well same applies (layers of grass or cotton) to the Crafty/Mighty (Ties) but I feel you have to be more carefull with the Ties, more lil holes where bits could fall in :(

The great news: the Clouds will be pouring out kinda forever with everlasting flavour, The sadder news, the battery takes a toll, well normal the sesh last twice as long but worth bearing in mind for those who will solely buy the Crafty for it. I get 2 full seshs out of a battery.

The pads are great for bho and the likes but for hash they're too big/fat ain't no room once they're in, did I once read than someone managed to split a pad in half?

It has been since I first got the Mighty that I ran it below 3 bars of battery life, Last couple of days I noticed at 4 to 3 bars it seemed slower to heat and to rebound after hitting. I decided to run it out of juice and bar 2-1-0 it couldn't get over 400f and ran out of juice pretty quick. I hope a full discharge to full charge it cure her.

I have , as cleanly as possible and by hand. I have torn them more like in thirds and tried to not have many sharp pieces. Look up my posts, most of them Mention it. It works very well for me so I can still have a lot of material that I can tamp down and it won't move in there either. Post your results please my man.

Mine is the same. It did not change after charging it, but I was hoping it would. It seems there are some problems.

@GR - Watching the Mighty and Crafty work it is clear there is some kind of "battery management" in play as performance drops happen at exactly identical intervals. This is one reason I like Mighty better and have been trying to "train" the battery on my Crafty. Please allow me to explain. It appears that after you loose a couple bars on battery we take a hit on performance. ok so there is a "window" in which the vape allows itself to work better so we can either add battery to increase the performance window like Mighty does OR we can fool the software on Crafty into making it a little bigger. I noticed on Crafty that my total MaHs were going up. I totally drained the device and it would reset its total higher upon full recharge. This translated into a slightly larger "performance window" for the vape.

mine too.
I also saw a "err 004" just for a second while hitting on 2 bars..... now I charge always @3 bars left.
that's about one session too soon....but no hiccups since....! :)

how many sessions do you fellers figure you are getting before you notice this heat up thang? Maybe the battery indicator is the fault. I get six maybe 8 sessions out of a full charge (down to 0 bars). But I usually recharge after 6 sessions with a bar or two left.

I had the same thought when it went 2-1-0 in about 50 sec and it seems I have been getting 6-8 bowls when it gets well into 3 bars left. However I have not been paying attention that much to how many bowls per charge.

I feel the on screen displays reading of the units charge is not super accurate. Close enough IMO though. I do about 6 or 7 full bowls at 195 to 210 or less and recharge. The bars seem to drop a lot faster after I go down to 4 bars, but like I said I'm getting 6 or 7 full bowls, so that's amazing considering the vapor quality and density.

today i also got the mighty. was very excited. and soon very dissapointed. unpacked it, looked really nice. think someone here meantioned it to be "an iolite on steroids". just from the looks i know what he meant. but when i plugged it in - nothing. not just nothing. a very slight ticking is coming from the area were, i think, the vibration unit is sitting. but no real vibration. just a slight ticking. display stays off. no function at all. so i just send it back and hope for better luck next time. but it is pretty dissapointing paying that much and recieving a faulty unit. *just wrote this, to get it off my back*

Friend of mine bought a mighty on my recommendation, really hope nothing like this happens to him.

I have no problems with my unit, it functions exacty as it should, I just tore the oil pads that come with it down for my desired dense hits. It works very well without them also. I am very happy with this Mighty. I have replaced my solo, extreme q and ascent and use only this many times per day for medicating. I am pleased with this vape.

I use mine on my balcony, it was negative 14 last night. I will do some testing. I have a "beer cooler sock" thing made of foam that perfectly covers the mighty flush to where the cooling unit joins. It seems to work well, also for any droppage its an extra layer.

I'm getting 4 fantastic "high performance" sessions, then Mighty will adjust performance when 2 battery bars are gone. I then get another 2 sessions as Mighty adjusts performance as the batteries weaken and the bars go down. I can squeeze in a 7th session but its borrowed time. Thats one thing I love about Mighty, you get 4 high performance sessions instead of the just two you get with Crafty.

Experimenting with portable power solutions for my telescope, Mighty/Crafty, my Cloud EVO, the car, etc. Picked this up at wallyworld earlier and I also purchased an Antigravity Battery XP-1 which should be here in a couple of days.

I love my Mighty, so hearing about units malfunctioning is upsetting. I hope it’s just a couple of bad apples and not a systemic issue.

Does anybody have a rough estimate of the number of people on this thread having issues?

Does anyone know if Storz- Bickel have acknowledged anything about this?

Just curious.

Mike, trying to figure this out is a pointless exercise. S&B gives a warranty for a reason. A certain % of all new products will be defective. We hear more bad because forums act as lightning rods for complaints. Lets not derail yet another thread on this topic. Enjoy your vape . . . :)
