I am assuming that this person used a custom stem to make it work with that glass piece? I am noob to vape accessories and I'd love a setup like this for home use.

They're using some sort of GonG, likely made for the solo. A GonG and glass piece with matching joint sizes are all you need.

Read the first few posts if this thread if you need to brush up on your glass basics. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/glass-101.7222/

The plastic tipped mouthpieces for the Air are actually sized to fit inside a 14mm glass joint. That said, in the photo with the laptop, it looks like one of the PlanetVape.ca GonG (Glass on Glass) adapters for the Solo.

all credit to OF, I wouldn't have thought to check the plastic tip to see if it would fit into 14mm joints nicely. Partly because I switched to the longer stem since I like how it cools the vapor a bit more.

Used my plastic tip yesterday with my Pinnacle water tube, its not as study as a GONG, but it is a direct fit and does indeed do the job.

Do you feel like it was made for this purpose or is it a coincidence? Does it feel like it might break if used this way instead of using a real tool for the glass piece like a gong or something?

Probably for purpose, but i would not just put it in a bong and leave it in because of the length and the unsteadiness, the glass might snap.

Are you using it with the silicone sleeve?
That will retrict the airflow a bit.
Yeah, that helps but went further & put sleeve upsidedown and offset 90 degrees to cover charger port & switches too. Made up a cork gasket to cap any air from top vents with 2 small grooves cut to direct air in around stem, over gasket & down over SS cover. Pulls cool & thick while forcing a slow draw.

anyone have pics of the air with the black sleeve on or with the red one? I hate the clear/white one, so ugly lol. Wished they offered color choices with your order.. that would have been sweet.

I just bought mine and ordered the black sleeve.. My friend is flying down from California with it..

I am based in India..

Will post a pic for you when it gets here. . hate the look of white myself

Here you go.

It does collect a lot of lint as you can see in the pic.

But a quick wash with some antibacterial soap and water.

Let it air dry and it's good as new.

don't get it LOL, theres no picture, just some icon.

EDIT: NEVERMIND, it just showed up in the quote.... weird and thanks! it does look way better than the white one for sure.

Curious.. does using the sleeve produce better clouds since it restricts airflow a little?

A Project i'll look into later tonight :-)

I've only been using the Air with the sleeve on.

A Project i'll look into later tonight :-)

I will be trying it tomorrow without the sleeve. When i take it off to clean.

I always find that the more I use the vaporizer no matter which one it is, ithe better it gets. There is always a little learning curve. I find on the solo PV stem it takes a little bit before the material starts cooking. This is not true of the evo. Once that beast is ready it hits on the first draw. Always. But it's huge and its attached to a cord. I think this little air with even pinanncle pro hydro tube would travel and work will. It seems to fit in there pretty well. Also I know it's not so good for my throat but I think the solo is really good with the just the dry stems - so I have to assume this device would be equally as good. Use it some more; the air flow may get better. That CarolKing picture with the air and the PV adapter is driving me crazy it looks so fun......

And tomorrow starts the week and yes I put everything away to get ready for the week's break....hope I can make it. The holidays are such a killer!!

Haha! My, oh my, how things have changed since I last posted.

We've come a long way, going from combustion, to the absurdly high resistance rig you see in my avatar, only to arrive here...in what must surely be the future indeed.

The Arizer Air. Incredible. I was using the Arizer ExQ and the Pinnacle portable. I haven't touched either one since taking the Air out of the box.

This is the next step in vapor medicating, rendering all other methods obsolete.

Flavor, efficiency, extraction, convenience, simplicity.

I fully recommend this thing to anyone on the fence.

I can't imagine my life without it now, there's just no going back.

I have the Pinnacle water tool and a Mobius Ion to compliment enjoyment, both of which look awesome with the Air, but often just use it dry with the all glass stem for optimum flow.

I've tried all the settings, but really prefer to leave it on white(2) dry, while going up to green(3) with water.

It's such a perfect device.

So two things-

1. I have a flashlight that has what appears to be an almost identical battery, LC 18650 3200mAh 3.7v, and it came with a little wall charger with 3.7v/500mA output. I have no intention of putting the flashlight battery in the Air, but am very tempted to try the wall charger with the spare Air battery I picked up. Can anyone advise ?

2. I am very surprised the Air didn't ship with GonG 14mm or 18mm stems standard with all orders. That is crazy. The plastic mouthpiece trick works well enough on the Pinnacle water tool, but I definitely need to pick up an 18mm for the Mobius. Is it true the solo stems are slightly larger ? Meaning if you order a solo 14/18mm aftermarket stem, it will stretch your Air ?

Just a quick question for you pro's out there-- besides using a new mouthpiece, or lightly packing the bowl itself and using a screen.. is there any way to reduce the draw constriction? It's extremely hard to draw off the Arizer.. It's like I'm sucking my lungs out trying to get a nice sized drag.. Should I bump up the heat? I've been primarily using blue, and then bumping up to white when I have to turn it back on for the second session to finish the bowl off.

I hear and feel a difference with and without the sleeve.
Never said it produced more vapor
I thought the question was about airflow.
So IMO the sleeve around the grill does restrict airflow somewhat.

The PVHE mouthpiece and the GonG from Planetvape help with an easier draw. Try not to draw so hard on the stock stems. I know some of us don't have the lung capacity like others.

I'm not having a problem with the draw using the Air. I don't use a screen and I pack lightly. I did have a problem with the older model( pre 2014) Solos restricted draw.

EDIT
There was no difference for me with airflow using the sleeve one way or another. Not cloud production either. I just don't like the look or the bother of the sleeve.

Thanks Carol! I will try maybe setting it to green as well. I'm thinking that it will really help with producing more vapor quicker.

As CK so wisely says, the PVHES will decrease the restriction, but will do so at the expense of production (more accurately with the vapor to air ratio). Vapor only happens so fast in this sort of vape, if you're looking for more than Air is designed to deliver, perhaps something like Bender is a better call for you?

The maker has said they put a lot of effort to "balance" the restriction (his term) for best performance (by his POV we assume?). So if easier draw is the goal there are some useful things to try, but if "nice size drag" is based on blazing or more powerful vapes (able to deliver larger volumes without dilution) it will be of limited use I think.

If your herb isn't well cured and fairly well ground you might try that?

Good luck with it.

Not to pollute the thread but  @OF

Thanks, one should amuse (or otherwise entertain) if he can't inform, or so they say.

Actually the original question was about vapor production I think: "does using the sleeve produce better clouds since it restricts airflow a little?". I think there's basically no difference in 'cloud production'.

Others might thing there's a useful difference, but you couldn't prove it by me. I found no change in performance (although I admit I didn't listen all that carefully......). I'm using a loaded stem, and assume you are? I also notice there's a pretty uniform gap around the stem which no doubt contributes.

Nice thing here is every owner can try for themselves and make up their own mind?
