Great idea. Can you take a picture of the cap and how it looks on the alfa chamber? Do you only use the container to store the herb and the lid to pack it?

Not sure what you mean by the cap on the Alfa chamber. I just put some material in the Alfa until it is up to the rim, then use the blue cap to tamp down the material so it is densely packed. Then I can put some more in and pack that tight again. I leave the cap on the container to make it easy and don't store anything in it.

I insert it like this to pack it down tight:

In did a sesh on high with the Mflb stem attached and ABV came out black. Does that count as combustion? There wasn't ash but it was pretty dark. I packed really tight and really fine grind.

I dropped my alfa last night. So sad. Got a little knick, but this things still hits like a champ! I've been also experimenting with different mouthpieces. A rubber grommet from a cheapo non glass on glass water pipe, fits into the mouthpiece hole. From there, I've been able to connect straight glass stems (similar to mflb stem), drip tips from different ecigs, and even rigged to a bubbler, and a homemade vapor lung. The clouds are definitely consistent, and different setups help cool the vapor a bit, since it tends to get a bit warm during a vape session on HIGH.

Auto shutoff kicks in automatically, and heat up it quick. Fingers crossed it continues to work like a champ!

You still have the warranty if all else fails.

Warranties typically dont cover owner/operator negligence, such as dropping, etc.

Yes, typically, But I would let them decide that. I will always encourage people to claim their warranty if they are still in their warranty period, no matter what.

My unit shuts off automatically while using the AP mode after about 15 minutes. I know the AT mode turns off after 20 minutes. Has that happened to anyone else? It's not really an issue. Late in the sesh, I'll notice no draw. Then I'll see the green light off. Then I have to turn the dial to OFF, then up to HI for 3 more draws.

Also, how much time do you have before it runs out of juice once the amber light appears?

Hi,
The Red blinking light means that the unit detected a fault with the heater and for safety reasons has shut down the unit permanently. Unless we have it in our hands we will unlikely know for sure exactly what happened to it.
"

That is what they sent me along with informing me they would send me a new unit! Ciaran was great with quick responses and great customer service. Unfortunate that this happened, but it is good to know that the company stands by their product.
I was wondering if you had Ciaran's email address. I've tried a few times from the link on Goboof.com and haven't gotten a response yet. Any help appreciated.

Hi I'm also having trouble contacting goboof from their website and would greatly appreciate any contact information for Ciaran

Very cool it works perfectly (purchased from office depot). Thanks for the pic. I even took it a step further and put the herb into the container and then use that container to drop it into the oven and then tamp it down with the top (just like you). So its both a container and loading tool. I used a piece of tape to keep the top from falling off in my pocket and also blocking the little hole I made when not in use.

Stay charged, my friends
I think it would be quite helpful for Goboof to answer email inquiries into their relatively new product. I too have been awaiting a reply for about two weeks now...
Any Goboof people reading this...hint, hint!

I wonder if they were closed for the Christmas holiday? When I emailed Ciaran in the past at (info@goboof.com) he always answered promptly.

Mike a fellow NY'er , how are you enjoying the Alfa , i believe mine should be coming in the mail today , i used gotvape. Also just got the arizer air and i am really liking it but the stealth of the alfa looks like it will be great for walks around in the city.

I love the little thing, I think you are going to be amazed. The chamber is the perfect size, and the central heating pin does a great job of heating the oven evenly. Plus the unit is the most stealthy thing I have ever seen. Relatives I visited over the Holidays had no idea I was using it, sometimes just a room away. I ordered from Gotvape as well.

JUST ONE IMPORTANT HACK. Take the screen out of the Mp area, but a hole in the middle, and stick it up in the actual chamber, and push to the top. That way, no tiny bits will clog the vapor path.

Hey, do you mind giving us your feedback on the arizer air vs. the alfa when you get it? I would like to know the major differences. The more detail you can offer the better. Thanks...

Sure i will message it to you bc i dont want to clutter up this thread with a comparison and get off topic.

Please don't. There are a lot more people than one who would find the end user comparison relevant and interesting. A single post wouldn't be clutter, esp not more than any of the actual clutter posts in this and other threads.

I really love my alfa, still. The MFLB straw mod is an interesting addition, and really cools everything (though I think the stock mp is perfect as is).

I've seen a couple odd bugs in my time using it. The first was on new years, when a fully charged alfa accidently got stuffed into my pocket while on (due to excessive libations). Later, when I pulled it out, it wouldn't start up. I tried turning it off and on several times, but it only started after I tossed it on the charger. I didn't troubleshoot it too deeply, so there might have been an easier fix.

Second, a couple times it has failed to heat at all, even with the flashing light going. I'll wait 30 seconds and the chamber is still ice cold. So far I've fixed this by turning it off, waiting 5 seconds or whatever, then trying again. My unit has the newest firmware.

It's an incredible vape, though. I still can't get over how compact it is. That I can hit this from any angle, holding it any way I want, packing it any way i want, is really great. Being able to use it without interupting cuddling with a pretty someone is something that none of my other vapes allow (esp my solo eek).

Ok so this is my opinion , Please do not get offended , i am only stating what a few members are asking me for and Mod's please delete if you feel this out of hand. I have only used the Alfa for a few sessions so far and the air has been used for a few weeks now. So far i would have to say to go with the Air , In my opinion it feels like the air is made a bit better in terms of quality. It just feels better in my hands and like it was constructed of better materials. The Alfa is a bit easier to draw when packed and airflow is not as restricted as the air. When it comes to flavor so far the Air is ahead. I feel i get tastier hit's , maybe it has to do with the Air's glass air path. Both can produce some nice clouds. Another user here stated that the chamber is allot smaller than the Air's , this is not the case. I found that the Alfa actually holds a bit more herb in the chamber considering you can pack it down in there. This is something you do not want to do with the air as it restricts air flow. The Air is definitely easier to pack , just a small amount of herb in the chamber and you tamp it lightly with your finger and you are good to go. I found with the Alfa it is a bit harder as you have to get it in the small chamber and find something to pack it down with , it's also a bit messy and goes all over and around the chamber and you have to clean it up. There are ways around this such as using a business card folded in half to get it in there neatly but i am just giving my opinion and feel the Air is much easier. I did take my screen from the mouthpiece of the Alfa and poke a hole in it and place it in the chamber to block the hole of the air path from getting herb clogged in it. When it comes to size and portability the Alfa kill's , it is tiny and easily can be passed off as a mp3 player or something of that sort. It fits in my pocket well and the air would def be harder to carry. The Air wins when it comes to batteries , the fact that i can replace them myself and purchase extras makes it my go to when there is no power around to charge. The alfa has a built in battery and can not be replaced at the moment. So for me this is a big plus over the Alfa bc the Alfa only gets about 1 1/2 hrs of battery life. I bought my Alfa from gotvape and they stated that it is a updated unit. I found heat up time to be over 30secs and close to a minute. Vapor production was nice on it but i am still getting the hang of it. I have got some nice clouds using both the air and alfa. As for smell the Alfa produces a bit more smell over the Air out in the open. Any questions please ask .

Spot on.. I too own an air I did a comparison a couple pages back. Nice review. Both are very good. Arizer pretty much owns the portable game so its not as surprise to see the airs success, but the alfa is a great little stealthy conduction vape. Knocks pax out of the park. I just wish loading and unloading was easier.

Thanks SiDankies , It's so small and portable and the maker of it is a big action sports guy who i heard had that in mind when making the Alfa, you would have thought they would have made it easy to load on the go but it is not so easy. I am also a bit of a neat freak when it comes to my electronics so i like to have them clean and when loading the alfa herb does spill all over the chamber and i have to use a small brush to get it off. It's really cool looking though , i bet if you wrapped a pair of ear buds around it while not using it people would think its a small mp3 player. I also wanted to add that after a session my herb does come out a bit more brown out of the Air compared to my Alfa .

The Air might be better at some things, BUT Arizer certainly does not own the portable game. There are many portables I would choose over the Air. It may be the best for you, but not for everyone. I'm sure quite a few would choose the Alfa over the Air due to its smaller size and better portability as it has no glass pieces.
