speaking of my case,
Nice ... tight... the necessities. You are rocking! :D

oh yea, this whole setup has really changed things in life as far as herbs go. I never leave my house without it, even if I dont plan on using it... just in case I get a spare minute. I just toss it in the glove box of my car.

Infact, its too good, now all my friends know that I would always have my herb on me no matter what... .and you know how that goes...

the contact case is a great lil stash container! i like!
yup, I tried other small stash containers (clear acrylic ones) in the past, and came back to the contact case.

its pretty compact and slim, the others are kinda thick.
it holds quite a bit (6 trenches total) and has 2 chambers, so you options with ABV ... sometimes I have ground herb in one, and nugs in the other.

I noticed unbranded copies of the MFLB sold in a local smoke shop....

Hi,

Unfortunately, we have also noticed a few of these copies showing up on the market. They are noticeably inferior in build and currently have no markings or engravings of any kind. Of the ones we have seen, only about 1/3 of them even work at all. Naturally, it is recommended that prospective buyers be sure that they are getting the genuine product, rather than a cheap non-functional and non-warrantied copy.

This is especially problematic as it creates the impression in the general public that vaporization in general and the MFLB in particular is bogus. MF has therefore found it necessary to treat this as legally actionable. We had already filed suit against several parties known to be promoting or selling infringing instances of our heard earned IP. We will most likely be adding the named retailer as a defendant (Thank you for bringing this to our attention!).

While we cannot discuss the particulars of a pending lawsuit, we can at least recommend that if you have strong feelings about the inappropriateness of selling or distributing inferior copies of the MFLB that you personally contact any retailer known to be involved (including the one below) and (politely) express your feelings.

We would also ask that if anyone notices any other instances of a MFLB copy, that the name/address/etc of the seller also be forwarded to our attention, along with details or impressions of your contact, communications, the seller, etc. If you are in doubt as to if it is a copy, check the unit and look for our engraved logo on the front and the serial number on the back. If either of these are absent, the unit is by definition illegitimate, and if sold or attempted to be sold, is very illegal in most states and in some cases even federally (on a number of different laws).

This is a transcript of my call to BB Tobacco Tuesday, April 5th, 2011, Noon:
BBTobacco: BBTobacco
Me: I think I was in your shop a couple of weekends ago and saw a mini vaporizer in a tin box, but didn't get the man to take it out of the case."
BBTobacco: Yes (his inflection indicated he knew both which one and that it was still available)
Me: Can you tell me how much it costs?
BBTobacco: $149
Me: Is it a copy of the Magic Flight Launch Box?
BBTobacco: Yes
Me: Why is it more than the Magic Flight Launch Box?
BBTobacco: I don't know, it includes the lithium batteries, a charger, a car adapter and the pipe in a metal box.
Me: Maybe it's the car charger, theirs doesn't include that.
BBTobacco: Maybe, I do know it costs us more.
Me: Do you know who's distributing it?
BBTobacco: I don't
Me: Who they get it from?
BBTobacco: I don't know
Me: Okay, thanks for your time.
call ended

I got the impression I wouldn't get any more info so thanked him and hung up.

... they won't respond to any further emails I've sent ...

Again, thank you particularly for this deposition. It is enormously helpful! To points are of particular interest: 1) They indicate that they are knowingly selling an illegitimate copy, and 2) they potentially know very little about the copy itself, and/or are deliberately misrepresenting it. In all of the instances of the copy that we have seen (all coming from the same source), the batteries included are NiMH (HSD type) and test out at about 900 mAh (on average) in the lab.

Again, any information/observations of this or other copies should be looked out for and reported whenever possible. Thanks again for your assistance!

-- Magic-Flight

I appreciate your looking at my message and commenting that you will use the information. I was quite frustrated that I got no response, thinking that she was thinking I was some kind of stalker, when it is out of respect for what you do on this board that I took the time to collect this for you. I do not own any of your products (tho I've contacted blissville about a bare box just today), but appreciate the amount of time it must take to manage a thread this long. Thank you for all your time and patience. I hold you and your company in high regard.

I feel you, magicflight! I sent the following:

A polite note.
It has been rumored, that your shop is selling a knockoff of the Magic Flight launch Box. At this time I wait for verification from folks in your area to see if this is true.
If this is indeed true it is unconscionable, and in no way will we support or recommend doing business with you in any fashion.
I hope that this rumor is wrong, for no ethical business person would treat a product like the Magic Flight Launch Box with such disrespect.

Nice letter Vito. They need to know that we know and as consumers we don't at all appreciate

@max (and anyone else that heard about or saw the various scam boxes)
What did they call this thing on the shelf?

tin box with "Portable Vaporizer" silk-screened on the lid
no markings on the unit
what struck me was the apparent similarity of basket shape and appearance of the welds, tho I didn't have it taken out of the glass case, it was displayed in a way that i could look fairly closely.

Putting the battery in backwards is a great way to store a battery on the go! No "hot pockets" :brow:

Provided you don't have anything that will conduct in the same pocket. ;)

Been there done that nearly burned my pants off.

Ordered this a couple of weeks ago and will be picking it up from the post office tomorrow. Just a quick question - do you think it would be safe to let friends use it? It's just I've heard a few stories about friends using it wrongly and damaging it. I'm a teenager too so I'm not sure how careful my friends will be, it's just a question of how easy it is to damage the mflb.

as long as you coach them through the process you shouldn't have a problem. the learning curve is there though, i think its actually easier to not get a good hit as opposed to combusting. many of my friends have used my box, some like it, but many don't for the aforementioned reason.

Keep the pushback ring in there, lol. Or do the motions (besides the sucking, obviously) for them the first few times. Let them concentrate on the pull.

IF my mflb can get me as medicated as my desktop vape I would seriously be surprised, but I don't don't doubt your claims vito, its just not there for me yet. I should write shorter posts so I come across more clear. I would like it to be as good as my eq as far as delivery goes. Also last night I tried it with kief ontop of the trench load then later shaken in, it seemed to of worked pretty well with no negative effects to the box as far as I can tell.

Second day : Device seems to be working better, but still short of my high expectations. It seems to be less harsh, but still slight taste of wood after awhile- As far as I can tell high is still similar to what I've described before, but not as bad as my very first experience w/ it.

I've come up with some decent methods of using the mflb. May not be anything new.
The most notable would be to with a slightly less than full trench, preheat like you normally would, then gently blow through the back of the devices intake grove into a glass or a cup, applying battery to preference. By blowing through the back, vapor pours out of the tube into the glass and stays there, after you just sip it up; plus it has had a chance to cool down. less cumbersome than a bag.

iMikers - the most important thing to keep in mind with your friends is that the MFLB has a very delicate screen. You should ideally only touch it with the cleaning brush, never your hands. So don't let them pack or empty bowls!

I have a simple question for the community here....after less than a week my acrylic stem is starting to look gross, even after multiple thorough rinses with water. I wish my $120 purchase had included a better stem, or at least an extra. Anyway, what's the best stem out there? How easily do the glass ones break? I like the look of the wood ones, but at their price I'd hope they are durable. Are they? Any differences between types of wood?
