I hope eCigs don't ruin it for vaporists

was that why that e cig thingy shrunk and twisted and let off black smoke when I sucked on it? LoL. it was from China, sold on every corner store, and everyone else sucked on it so it must have been safe to suck on. '''''''''''' I'll go get another one it could have been a dud ''''''''' goes back to corner store to buy $4 e cig with convenient peach juice

That type of consciousness must Stop!

To bad more people do not know of FC and the quality aspect of vaporizing and not just sucking on the pen

Personally, I think the next generation of herbal vapes will be taking influence from some of the current engineering in the e-cig world. Specifically the temp control stuff Evolv & Yihi are doing. I am hoping there will be a tech leap that takes vapes of all kinds to "higher" levels ;)

After I read the news, I want to say that many foreign people do not understand China. Generally most capable of producing electronic cigarette company, is a serious health and safety through monitoring, to qualify their products. So do not worry about the hazards. Like joytech tech, inshare tech companies have these qualifications.

E-cigs won't ruin vaporizers. I'd see it more likely that e-cigs get ruined by vaporists' reputations. I think vaping could get caught in a perfect storm between e-cigs and dabbing.

Well I'm off to the domain fuckvaping.com, for the Next Big Thing-- tincture talk all day! :D

It is crazy how much press this is getting. It is such bad information. I have done so much research on vaping and the reporter that wrote that article is a d bag who did not research the topic well at all. Good job spreading the misinformation guy. Probably works for the tobacco industry on the side:rolleyes:

i saw that article today ... reinforces my preference for only borosilicate glass vapor path. too bad there aren't more products available.

I had to ceramic engineers fighting over if alumina or borosilicate was better in a flow path and boro won... mainly because we could utilize a standard 19 mm joint for ease of attachment but agreed amazing flow path material. we are currently working on trying to create a design that may require a medical grade high temperature epoxy :(

So many people have been saved from big tobacco by these devices. I'm one of them. I love not coughing up the black speckled mucus any more and can breath so much better. The tobacco companies only hate e-cigs they don't make. How convienient. Who makes Blu and Vuse again:\

I am not so sure, my thought is dabbing is a bit too strong for some folks. I've been at this 20+ years, and not so long found dabbing. What I find is while I do kind of love it, it's just too strong for me to want to do all the time. Although a dab of a nice sativa does give me a good kick in the pants.
I am in the camp that agree, vaping will be the slower replacement to smoking/puffing. It has more of a habit, leveled control, and things like pax and ejuice make it so convenient and easy. It took me a long time/effort to get to an E-Cig that feels satisfying, I am on day 7 of no cigarettes now.
Same for the vaping.... the PAX and FireFly were really the first vapes that I found myself reaching for before rolling a spliff. The buddah, or bigger things i tried in the past, just had no experience to them, it removed all the fun/process out for me.... i think process is part of what people end up growing into enjoying in their habits. Like the meditative aspect of breaking the nug, prepping, rolling... etc.

Interestingly, I will admit, that by far the best e-cig I have or tried was the JoyTech eroll, it can do anything and never breaks. It's main issue is battery life and tank size and price. If more devices came out that had their reliability, comfort, and experience... at a lower price point, i think they might have already won this game against cigs. In the meantime I am happy to have found my cloupor and aspires as well.

So in short... I think vaping and e-cigs will find a happy merger/medium in their devices.
I think dabbing will not go away, but it won't replace anything... except maybe harder things.
I think dabbing will be more popular in the portable pen world as those improve, and the dab-rig will be like bongs... more for the heavy stoner/college/party hardy crowd... and the aficionado to enjoy a treat now and again.

Like another poster mentioned that the same building materials were made in china. I know there's companies who claim their products are made in the USA, while their materials are from china.

I understand this article is pertaining to e-cigs. But what would be considered the safest vaporizer on the market today?

I admit I only skimmed this thread, I was actually looking for the other exact thread on the same topic. I use both equipment. I gave up smoking cigarettes 10 months ago but have been using ecigs for the last 4 years in attempts to quit.

Like portable vapes there has been a boom in tech for ecigs, one I think has surpassed what I can get on a herbal vape by a big margin. For instance I am using the Eleaf istick 30w for my eliquid atm and it uses a 2200MAh 18650 battery, is VV/VW from 5w to 30w, and measures 3"H x 1.25 W and cost under $40. It has a big brother that is not that much bigger but has 2 18650 batteries and is 50w and is under $50.

I love my S&B Mighty but it cost over $500 with extras and is being sent back 3 months after purchase.

My cigarettes where killing me, I can not say the same thing about weed. I smoked the stuff for 30 plus years, however I am glad I am 100% combustion free at this point. I actually feel the weed helped my body compensate for all the tobacco I combusted. Doctors where always amazed at the sound of my lungs smoking 20-30 rolled cigarettes a day but I still felt the need to stop combusting everything before there was a problem.

At 46 I have been diagnosed with extreme adhd and it all becomes so clear to me why I have consumed so much weed and even tobacco for me.i need both and don't care for anybody screwing with either of my drugs of choice. While many folks might not see the importance of ecigs I ask you to remember the importance of weed and why we have been fighting for medical/legalization for so long.

Now while many here can view ecigs as a problem, ecig folks where long ago upset that weed vaporizer where stealing their tech and making ecigs look like a cover up for weed users! Now that is a mind fuck to me but reality often is.

So now what? Ecig tech is advancing weekly, it is hard to keep up with the Jone's! So now what? IDK, my S&B mighty seems to ke p up with the Jone's but does it? Are we talking about the chips that are used? Are we actually demanding manufactures to give us the best? In the ecig market to be on top you actually have to have a proven reputation.

If it wasn't for the ecig market the flower/oil vape market would be few.

General response: I like being able to vote with my dollars. If I want to vape off plastic and fiberglass, I can do so; if I want to vape off titanium and quartz I can pay a few bucks more to do so.

I don't think regulation prohibiting plastic and fiberglass vape equipment would make my life better. In fact, I'm sure it would make things worse for me: cheap shitty vape equipment puts downward pricing pressure on better vape equipment. It would certainly make things worse for the millions (tens?) of people in the developing world whose alternative to shitty vape equipment is smoking tobacco.

Regulations would make development of new ecig technologies more expensive - and therefore less likely. Many of the advancements in ecig technology have come from backyard/basement/garage efforts, or crowdsourced in some web forum.

The liquids folk vape are a truly democratic endeavor: if you don't trust your vendor, make your own.

Advanced e-cig hardware is not available ready-to-run off-the-shelf. They all require that the user specify individual components, and then assemble the device themselves, and then test it themselves. Sadly, the "research" we see involves the cheapest off-the-shelf equipment ever.

The firm [Joyetech], for example, employs testers who vape and check for flaws. “The big challenge is how to make a quality product.” - From the article

Although that is supposed to sound reaffirming it sounds about as good as Marlboro bragging that they have testers who smoke cigarettes from every pack testing for flaws. Most of those juices aren't healthy and I've seen studies saying as much as 50% of the vapor can deposit in the lungs after inhalation. I got some allergic reaction while I was vaping ejuice and was coughing constantly, most likely because my lungs got clogged with vegetable glycerin. Nasty.. Yes, I think the more e-cigs get popular the less slack the industry will be cut when people start to get sick from what they inhale. Good old MJ is all I condone vaping or smoking. Many flavorings in ejuice have been proven carcinogenic such as cinnamon and other dark strong flavors.
