So I am traveling back east (i.e. driving coast to coast and back) with Dan Sheldon. Some of you may know him or of him especially due to the Eggs he has made lately. So he says to me wonder if we could connect up with some other blowers and maybe do a colab... So I suggest a couple that will be along the way. For one, BigJ. Figure they both do some nice eggs so who knows what will happen. So they communicate and we be set. Stopping by on the way back home. Working on a couple out here in NY/New England area.

I can't wait. I know little about glass blowing, but I love the output. It will be fun o watch a difficult design come together and how it's done. A lot of contruction in an egg piece and plenty opportunity for artistic expression also.

Wonder if I can beg them to make me one too :)

Yes, aaron's shop is rd. Setup well and plenty specialized tool and torchs with plenty color rods to work with. It was heaven

So the mouth piece was finished and then
went into the kilm for controlled aniline. I'll post some complete pics later.

We stopped by another shop in albany and do did a sculpture of new alien with a Gas mask. That took a couple hours

ok, i'll post more shots after i get home. cant get them off the camera. lost my freaking cable.

We stopped by another shop and Dan did a skull with gas mask in a couple hours while i hung in the basement dabbing

I learned something that almost ruined the trip. i carried my mothership klein in my pelican case. The way the klein is designed its hard to get all the water out. well, i left the case in the truck one night and that water froze right in the return tube. thank god it didn't crack from expansion. i was lucky. lesson learned.

good lesson learned! i've learned to properly dry out all my pieces after cleaning before i store in my pelican. even in warm weathers the foam in the pelican can grew a considerable amount of mold and mildew due to condensation if your pieces are stored with some moisture

Well, I hit ice in Iowa and nearly totalled my Tacoma. Screwed up the trailer and the airplane on it. Now daughter texts me that she wrecked my 66 mustang. Texts me, no call, just texts. I'm in tears. Thought battling terminal cancer was hard. Man this sucks.

Sorry, I am whining

Ok fellow members status update. Back on the road, rental car in hand, our previous truck in the shop and the plane/trailer in a hanger. So off we go. Now after all this BS I suggest, let's relax and destress, contact Big J (BIgJ402). To our delight, he was so happy to have another artist to work with. BigJ and his wife are awesome people. Friendly and just our type of people. It's like we have known them for a long time :)

Yes pics will come..BigJ and Dan are designing the piece between them right now. Choosing color palette and the size. It will be a fab egg ofcourse. Both do excellent eggs, each in their own way. A colab should be special. First time I get to watch a piece being designed from start to finish. Man, can't wait.

Problem is it will cost me, I get first dibs. IDK, but a large part of me thinks, since I am friends with them, I can get one anytime. Share the beauty as it were.

The color palette is green-yellow Oregon
Duck colors!

Ok, the sketch. The rough plan of the egg.

So when asked which one (they did 3 options), I asked you want a daily driver or a special use version? For me it's a stability issue. The round heavy base makes it more stable. Tripod (legs) can fall easier so I prefer not to leave it out everywhere. I use it and then put it away. Maybe because of my dogs tails ☺ so they added a round base and kept that beautiful ping!

If you have any thoughts to help get at me freaking soon because the music just got turned up.

Anywho the sketch:
