You know guys, I'm still not shure that this is not a hoax. That video does not seem real. I think it was one of the employees with cgi or bmx or something. I know it seems outlandish that this guy could pump out smoke for 3 minutes straight, but I have been trying myself and have gotten to 25 seconds more than ten times today so that means its true.

Man I don't even know if we are getting pens, maybe we are getting pencils.

Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinions, but what exactly makes you think it's a hoax or the video isn't real?

I see nothing at all about the video, or any of their previous updates for that matter, that would make me believe it's not real or a hoax.

In my opinion, why would they be wasting their time doing all these updates/spending money on parts and packaging if the end goal was to rip people off? That wouldn't make sense at all. Instead wouldn't the goal be to take ALL the money and run, not just some of it?
Either way they have already fulfilled their obligations to the backers by working to make their goal happen, but it sure seems to me like they are still working on that goal to this very day.

Please don't take this post the wrong way, it is just my opinions/thoughts on the matter after all.

Edit
I need to mention one more thing to illustrate my point.

They are now taking preorders on their site. If they don't follow through with those or refund people money, then there would be actual legal options for the people that purchased during preorder. If people still have doubts that GH won't follow through, that should help clear up those doubts at least a little.

Now as to how well it will perform in person, that is still to be determined.

I hope its at least those electronic pencils, or maybe a pen with a eraser, those were always terribly great.

Could be some kind of statute of limitations thing going on. I'm not law savvy at all, but that was the first thing that popped into my head.

It's Kickstarter - that stuff is completely irrelevant.
If they wanted to rip people off they could just say "whoops, we can't get the thing working, sorry", and not have to play some year long con game.

I figured they most likely weren't being serious, but enough people still have that viewpoint that I figured I would clear the air a little is all.

You mean in addition to breaking all the known laws of physics,
this thing will be able to transfer human thought to a piece of paper?

Now that would be something :spliff:!

I'm not sure it's breaking the laws as much as bending them or getting around them somehow. Worm hole, maybe? Extra heat stored in a parallel universe? Maybe they secretly beam extra energy in from the Cloud?

Funny, same thought here. Lots of chopping, not much wood. About what might happen in a 'run out the clock' game?

Who says we're the only players? Consider there may be other money we don't know about that's hanging on this process as well?

One thing sure it's not your run of the mill product development schedule...........

Still curious as can be at this 30 Watt tiger in a tiny cage with such a tiny fuel tank.

Still can't imagine a realistic reason why it would be relevant, but the statute of limitations for felonies ( which is what fraud of many thousands of dollars would be) varies by state - a minimum seems to be three years.
But it's a pretty silly line of speculation if you ask me....

All things considered with all the updates and delays, in my opinion, while I agree it's speculation, I don't think it's silly speculation at all. One could say that the speculation is warranted.

What's kinda interesting is all this brut-ha-ha in regards to if it's going to really be released or not. The way I see it, that is just one speed bump. The next one, which could be much bigger is............will it perform like they said it will perform when it does get released.

But I like it!
I'm gonna keep watching for updates, and hoping it performs as designed. At the least it will make a really pretty example of what can be done with stainless and titanium...

30W is as much as the S&B Mighty (2 cells) and the Crafty manages to output 27W peak with a single cell. What if they really manage to output 30W out of this tiny fuel tank, but only for say 5 minutes, then you need to recharge it? One bowl, one charge. :suspicious:

I recall reading that the Firefly pulls 50 watts. 50w with a cellphone-sized battery = short use and short battery lifespan (until they don't hold charges properly).

30 Watts is where the TV T1 runs, it needs a pair of RCR123As that really only do one load. Attempts to make it work at 3.7 Volts on Li-ions didn't work out. Flashvape is in that class too, I think. Again, battery life suffers.

This I gotta see......

Looks like Hopper Labs LLC (CO company) lost a co-founder as of June: https://ca.linkedin.com/in/conradbehrman

I wonder how that affected this whole process. I wonder how much funding he ran with to start his new music company...

Since we don't know the specs on the heating element there is no way for us to even guess if this is realistic. They stated that the heater design required high end 3d printing at some point earlier; That implies to me that the heater is going to have to be pretty small.

People pull over 100 watts off of 18650 IMR's in ecig setups all the time while getting 30 minutes to an hour of battery life. If they can limit the current they need to pull it's at least not impossible.
