Honey Bucket Carb Caps

Totally understand. Still a good scoop I guess for the money but I like to heat my bucket without holding the swing upright and that would explain a deal breaker for me. Just explaining my personal opinion but I'm sure it would work just fine for people.
I hear you, and maybe a DIY solution could be added a la Solo o-ring style? (albeit sized down considerably) They do have pictures of o-rings on their enail buckets but I will clarify regarding their honey buckets (pic). But anyway a bucket+cap will be a lot cheaper than separately (relatively speaking), and wouldn't go for more than ~30$ as a pair. (I still need to work out female vs male joints on buckets for those who want them, and do some math), but once I get the group buy sorted all should be good. If there is any other quartz people want to add in to the buy let me know as it will be cheap. Ex- enails, S dropdowns, reg dropdowns, bangers, carb caps (regular style or pb knockoff for enails), or pretty much anything you could think of quartz, let me know so I can add it to the group order.
Edit: beaten to the punch on o-rings by @Deadshort480 !

From what Im understanding, even if it doesn't come with an o-ring, I could just go to my local hardware store and just the ones they have until they fit right? If thats the case then definitely count me in for a honey bucket + cap.

I am very interested. I still don't know what the honey bucket does? It looks like a way to torch, move the bucket, and then carb cap. Why not buy a straight Quartz banger? Thanks for the information.

It's all the same, but variety is the spice of life. It's basically a fancy Domeless Quartz nail. It's all personal preference.

So I heard back and they say they have the caps + buckets. I asked for a pic of the cap just now. Let me know the demand for these as I could place an order, but im not looking to profit off of fellow FCers. I am glad to post up a different thread or poll to get numbers, but this is what you're looking for (and quartz). Price will be most definitely reasonable (25 max and I'm talking intl ship, probably closer to 15/20), but varies based on demand.

I'll be in for one and a cap especially if they have 14mm male :) already got a 14mm female coming from Joda!

Awesome! Thanks so much. Literally an "ask and you shall receive sorta moment." So stoked...

I would very much be interested in getting one of those sets with the cap. As other's have said, though, I'd feel more comfortable with a few more pictures and some more information. Are these American or Chinese made? Have you used one yourself/can you personally vouch for their functionality? Do you have any more pictures or perhaps even a function video?

Thanks again so much, I'm really excited about the prospect of having both a working honeybucket setup and a working bank account.

Will you be posting the DHgate link when available....super interested in the honeybucket / carb cap combo as well. I know some friends who want to get in on it too.

I'm thinking an email list/group for the buy would be easiest way to gauge who wants what and quantities. The quartz vendor I'm dealing with only does large orders so if we do a group buy/vote on what people want, I can order them and then ship them out accordingly and at a much better price. I'm pretty tired right now but I'll think of a way to get the list together a little later.

If i don't have to look for o-rings myself, I would like to buy a bucket or two as well.

Just came across this:

[HYMAN]Top quality honey bucket with carb cap, quartz swing with bowl, also sell quartz banger nail domeless fit for coil heater

@tennstrong is this the bucket you were looking at?

It looks like the same deal, down to the missing o rings. There's a few more images available on the site. It's a 50 piece minimum though.... Would be an ambitious group buy....

They are the people I'm in contact with, but there is no 50pc min on their actual catalog. Some items do have mins but generally when u first purchase from this vendor they require you buy ~$100min and then theres some shipping, which is where calculating prices would come from.

Guys I'm not trying to bash here but I want to say something regarding this vendor. This is who I sourced my original run of Quartz swings from for my buckets. They were ok. A little on the thin side. A few showed up broken and a few more had shitty seals where the slotted bucket is welded to the swing arm. All in all I ended up with 11 usable swings out of 20. Not a good ratio in my book. I contacted him and informed him of my issues. He assured me that the bucket part of the swing would now be made with thicker walled Quartz and he would up the QC on the welds. He offered to replace my swings IF I placed another order. That didn't fly with me and I ended up finding a Quartz worker on Facebook that ended up being about 50 miles from my front door. It's a little more expensive on the initial cost but shipping is next to nothing, plus... U know.... Murica!!!! Lol.

Really though just make sure he's using the thicker better welded swings before you buy a bucket. He is easy to deal with for the most part and if he ups his qc as he said he has then you should be getting a quality product.

Hmm the person I've been in contact with has been cindy, so possibly different reps, but I'd like to ask them definitely if there have been any model changes since your order. And THANK YOU for alerting me to this, I'll be sure to inquire, or possibly look elsewhere for our buy as there were a few other vendors I was looking at.

@VaPeD&CoNfUsEd Thanks so much for weighing in, the heads-up about the quality of that vendor was invaluable. I'm intrigued by the American quartz worker you found... Are they still producing them, and would you recommend that as a potential route for us? Were you getting the whole buckets from them or just the swings?

@tennstrong After looking over their pictures I'd definitely still be interested, but the 11 out of 20 ratio puts me off... If they can confirm that they've improved their quality than maybe, but personally those aren't odds I'm generally willing to gamble on. What other sellers have you found, if you don't mind me asking? I'd love to do some research on them, maybe I can be helpful. Also, if we do end up going with Hyman Quartz, were you thinking of just getting one lot of honeybuckets? It looks like they've got a couple of different orders full of mixed quartz pieces... If you were were planning on going that route I wouldn't mind picking up a couple of other items from them like a banger and a dropdown, especially if we were already making a purchase.

Not sure how things will go, but if we do go ahead with Hyman ill post up what interest for other items there are. They have coils for cheap like 25 bucks so I might get a couple of those and I know others who might as well. That aside if we have an american glassblower who wants to do a group lot we could probably get enough people to make it worthwhile I would assume. I'm not too into honeybuckets so it'd have to be at a good price, I just commented here to try to help out you guys looking for caps

I was only getting the Quartz swings. I make the boro buckets myself. I'm in the middle of placing my first order with the American Quartz guy. I'll let you know how it goes. It's looking like he's doing exactly the things I wanted. He already did bangers and domeless Quartz nails before I hooked up with him. He was waiting on a guy to send him a swing to use as a template because he had never made any before. Well that guy let him down time and time again and I sent him one the next day. So now I've got the hook up it seems. I'll update you guys on how it goes. I should have my order by the end of this week. I actually sent him all of the Chinese swings that had been broken or had bad welds on them to be repaired as well.

@VaPeD&CoNfUsEd I just started looking through your imgur and the JoDa thread and saw the buckets you've been making recently. They're beautiful, and that Kraken one with the cap was downright amazing. I've mostly been going the China glass route these days but I would so much rather spend and wait a little more to get something unique and beautiful crafted by someone of your talents. I just took a peek at your JoDa thread and it looks like you've got a lot on your plate right now, but when the time comes and you're not so busy I'd love to commission a bucket from you!

How would I proceed with that? Should I PM you? Should I just wait until you announce that you're done with your hiatus? I certainly don't want to add more to your workload during such a stressful time, but I've also just now started exploring and becoming enchanted with your work. Thanks!

Regardless of whatever with VaPeD&CoNfUsEd, I'd still be interested in a group quartz buy. Could always use a backup bucket, plus bangers, etc. And a 25 dollar coil on a quartz nail would be epic!

I don't wanna jack this thread. I've sent you a pm @Erwin.

I only posted in this thread because I've worked with hyman before and wanted to relay my findings to u guys.
Thanks for it as well man, much appreciated. I'm going to go ahead and get some QC answers before making an order with this vendor though after hearing your experience, we have options and can always try to contact a different vendor for a group order.
Edit: if you know any local quartz blowers who would be interested in a mass order, dont be shy! I'm sure the masses of FC can make it worth their while from what I've seen in this thread.

I do indeed have a guy. Put together an estimate of what you'd like and I'll run it by him and see what he can do.
Do you have a rough estimate of his pricing? Would make it much easier for me to communicate to others, and a large draw of the bulk china order was how dang cheap they were. This way though I can post up on forums like glassheads for more people who would definitely be interested in a US glass order though.
