So if that's one of the two best ways, out of curiosity, what's the other one you like?

I've tried pens, a nail and this. This blows the other two away. I haven't tried 7th floors oil kit, but I expect it will lie somewhere between a nail and the vxnail.

Personally, I never had the best success using it with concentrates

I went out and watched every youtube video I could on this thing before using it. Stonemonkey has a great tutorial on there. Following his technique I have never had any of the problems you experience. Check some vids out and give it another go!

I gently push in the screen to get the material out, I'm not sure if that causes it to break apart.

No surer way to fuck up your elb welds! I have one that is not connected all along the weld but it still works fine (it came that way). None of my other elb's have ever failed me after three+ years. I still use some of my original elb's from the beta period. If you tap them out or blow them out they should last a long time!

The ones made by Clairol are $1 and fit the screens perfectly and clean them very gently.
Awesome tip, thank you!

Check some vids out and give it another go!
Yeah I probably need to try again. I've tried to clean the nail out but I could never get it spotless even though I haven't even used it that much. I live in a non-legal state so obtaining oil here can be difficult at times.

No surer way to fuck up your elb welds!
Thats what I thought, thanks for confirming! Won't mess up my new elbs when they come hopefully tomorrow or the day after Christmas.

For me I use those free eyeliner brushes at Macys for daily cleanings or the perfect little Brush you can get at Amazon.

Every few weeks I boil some water and put my elb's in a Mason jar with a teaspoon of PBW to super clean them. I soak twenty minutes and then rinse thoroughly. I use an ED 500 blower to blow all the crud out. This process gets them back to brand new with nothing at all stuck in the stainless steel mesh. This blower is awesome and can be used for so many things.

One day I'll try out an ultrasonic cleaner like tdub but this process is fast and works really well for me.

I was afraid that would be the answer. I still haven't washed anything with the pbw I have much less a vxn but I know I have similar type of charred carbon fused to the bowl end of my only solo bent stem.

I use ISO on my dropdowns but its pretty much useless against the baked on crap HOWEVER, if you add some powdered dishwashing detergent to it to act as an abrasive, it comes off pretty easy. If you could get a small brush down into the VXNs, that might worked for them as well but yeat, PBW and ISO alone wont touch carbon oil leftovers.....

. . . Does anyone know the temps? Why don't they have any info on them?

I thought my first EVO was bad because it sounded like a referee blowing a whistle when I took a draw.
The second one is the same but supposedly it was gone over with a fine tooth comb to assure it was free of defects. . . .

Temp indicators on vapes (with possibly a few exceptions) are at best an approximation of the actual heat penetrating the herb, let alone performance. Dryness, grind, load, proximity to heat source, location of heat sensor, air circulation (or lack thereof), etc. all are contributing factors. The EVO is analog with the heat range on the dial more of a curve than linear; on average the high heat starts to kick up at ~1pm with 2-3pm seeming to be about where most users end up (although many prefer, e.g. for taste, 12pm and as low as 9am). Just find where on the dial works best with your preference and particular technique, once you've got that nailed down.

If you are getting a loud whistle, it is highly likely that you are taking a hard, maybe sharp, draw. That can actually work against you. You might try this: With a 1/4-1/3 dry fluffy loose load, after heating the EVO at ~3pm for 20 minutes, take a soft primer draw for a few seconds, and then pull again slow and steady, just hard enough to start the whistle but no more and hold that level thru the draw. This technique gives me thick vapor, and following with another hit just like it usually delivers more than I can hold (of course, my lungs are old). IMO the key is to let the EVO do the work for you.

Is it possible for the Bamboo to stick to the HT or other Glass attachments and crack the air tube?? I feel that my air path is slightly pulled out and has some rust color residue, and it looks like it may be crooked.

With GonG joints, there is always the possibility of joint lock. VXL actually shaves the bamboo male joint just a wee bit to help avoid this. The important thing is to be patient and certainly avoid twisting. Gently rocking the female side usually frees the piece. Sometimes it just needs to set a while. There are even products avail which lubricate the joints to prevent this. There are also other threads here specifically about this; give the Search a try for those.

. . . Since this thing has a male 18mm top, couldn't I just flip it upside down and insert it in a 18mm downstem and vape away? Does it have to be upright to function properly? I'm guessing if it can be used this way, you can only do this with herbs and not concentrates? . . .

I use mine inverted frequently. Sometimes though the EVO may set too close to the piece, therefore requiring an adapter or VXL CloudBuddy. And depending on the piece, you might vary your technique a bit. Only flowers, though. Concentrates require the VXNail which must be used upright.

. . . Also, I've had my EVO for about 2 1/2 months now and both of the screens that came with have slowly been coming apart. Has this been the case for any of you or have you been able to use the EZ load bowls for a long period of time? When cashing the bowl into my AVB jar, I gently push in the screen to get the material out, I'm not sure if that causes it to break apart.

Still using the same dozen ELB's since the original Cloud beta. That's like what, several years? Just be mindful of the weld. Using a brush like those already suggested, for cleaning I rotate the brush around the inside in the direction of the weld seam overlap. But to remove the ABV first though, I use tweezers if necessary to loosen it and then just tap it on the table a few times.

@oldiebutgoodie Thank you very much for the suggestions. I have tried drawing using every speed from barely drawing to hitting it like it owes me money.:goon:

I had a talk with @stonemonkey55 and after a very pleasant conversation, it seems I have a defective unit.
Vapexhale wasted no time and a new unit is on its way.

I am extremely impressed with their customer service and know I am in good hands.

In a few days I should be enjoying my EVO as much as everyone else!

Thank you everybody for all the help, I truly appreciate it.

:leaf:HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE:leaf:

Anyone with experience or opinion comparing VXL's new Vapexchiller vs the SSV Saturn Vapor Tamer?

oldiebutgoodie,

elmomuzz

That just happened...
I've tried neither but I do keep my hydratubes in the fridge and that works awesome. I recommend trying it!

Hey everyone,

I finally found a connect for some concentrates so ordering up a 2 pack of the glass nails now for my Cloud. I'd like to use it with my Swagger hydrafoot 2.0 and Hydrotube. Can someone tell me what size silicone set I need?

The vapexhale website shows two female ends on their setup, but I need a male on one end to go into my hydrafoot 2.0 (not sure what size)?

Any help appreciated, thanks!!

@Meth0tica :
You could get a couple of adapters at http://www.gogopipes.com/glass-adapters.html or http://www.ebay.com/bhp/glass-adapter
and find some tubing.

Thanks @macbill !

Went ahead and purchased the vapexhale whip that had the female 14 and female 18. Then I got the 18mm male to 14mm male from gogopipes!

Regarding concentrates, how many hits do you get off a small dab? I noticed in the StonerMonkey video that they just took one hit before turning it up to burn off the rest.

How many hits are others getting out of a very tiny dab?
