Indeed, I am working on a MiniVAP Silicone Waterpipe adapter. My first prototype was a solid air-tight seal, but the cover didn't fit securely on the top of the MV, so I've made slight adjustments and am currently re-printing the mold as I type

Had a bit of a SNAFU yesterday - left the house with 4 hours left on a print of my latest MV mold, came back home today to discover my y-axis motor had broken loose from it's mount and fallen loose some time mid-print! :o (You know it's bad when you come home and find a failed print AND a loose motor sitting on the print surface!)

Fortunately the 3D printer is fine and I had the necessary spare part to fix the problem. She's back up and printing now like nothing happened.

The 14mm version will be printed first. I'll wait for feedback from @MinnBobber before I publish them to my store. Once I know the 14mm is golden, I'll print the 18mm version

Digging this my man. I'll definitely be grabbing up one or two. Thanks for the propensity for being innovative.
Those lids are pretty fragile though.. Didn't take much for the two parts to detach. :disgust:

Edit: @Ratchett.. Think there's a design in your head that would take away the need for the lid altogether? Like longer sleeved sides? It's viable as long as the flexicone is getting squished enough to create and maintain a seal.

Bastards :D.. Think if I contacted them and told of my breaking the lid trying to get the older one to fit that they'd hook me up?
Not sure what shipping cost is for you, but on my side of the pond I'd be better off just buying the updated version. I'm sure if you told them you were coming to Spain to kick their ass if they didn't exchange yours for the new one they would get on it right away. :goon:

Hey, if it makes you feel better my lid did the separation thing also. A little Loctite sticknseal extreme conditions adhesive did the trick. Used it because it cures inert.

How long should it take for the MV to heat up to the green setting? Mine takes around 7-10 minutes? and even longer for the red setting. Also, the whip and/or mouthpiece get really hot when using it, to the point that it's uncomfortable to use?

I must admit, so far I'm struggling to be impressed, I really want to love it but it's just not living up to the hype so far ~ my Davinci takes about 2 mins to get to full temp and never gets hot due to the glass pathway/mouthpiece, the flavour also seems better on my Davinci, again perhaps due to the glass pathway?

The big reason I bought this is that I read that you can just leave the vape sat there and take a draw as and when you please due to it being a convection vape, but the fact that it takes sooooo long to get up to temp pretty much negates this, if I take a few draws and put it down, next time I want to use it I've got to wait the 10 minutes for it to get to temp, also in the 'quick start' guide it says you need to draw on it for 5 secs, if I do this the mouthpiece becomes red hot and burns my lips ~ am I doing something wrong here?

Also, I only got a 'quick start' manual with mine, and I can only find a Spanish version of the full user guide on their website, can anyone point me in the direction of an English user-guide?

This is the fourth vape I've bought and it's nearly twice as expensive as any of the others, and the others have been trouble free in terms of ordering and delivery, then they've been great from the start and enjoyable/easy to use ~ This has been the opposite, is it really this tricky to get to grips with as I'm starting to feel that I might have one of the faulty ones?

EDIT ~ OK, I'm gonna assume I've got a faulty one as I've just read that it should get to temp (i.e. the temp light stops flashing) within 2 minutes, mine's more like 10 minutes :(

If you have a full charge or the power puck attached, 7-10 minutes is way too long for heat-up time. It appears that it does eventually get there based on your 'hot' comment though, but again heat-up time is excessive and I wouldn't accept that personally if it were me.

There really isn't much of any 'trick' to using it. I'll wait at the most a minute after temp light stops blinking to hit mine. The first one or two hits I refer to as the 'primer' hits to get the heat thru the load, after that I take longish easy draw like hits. If I'm not using water I use a glass straw, and honestly the inhaled vapor is not harshly hot at all. The base of the glass straw at the lid area is hot but that's it. I draw on the Minivap like I do with my Ascent, and as I said earlier, easy longish slow inhale hits.

Yeah I think based on the time it takes to heat up it's faulty, I've emailed them, again! ~ I'm starting to feel like a right pain in the ass with the amount of times I've had to get in contact with them :(

Don't feel that way at all. You paid good money and deserve a Minivap in proper working order. It will get sorted out I'm sure if your willing.

@Sid -- I'm really disappointed...I wanted to hear great things from you! Mine just worked right out of the box with no problems, so I can't relate to you with this vape. But I've been there with other companies. I'm on my third Cloud/Evo product and I went through three different Arizer Extreme's and two power supplies when they first came out. I've sent the Ion back for repair twice and gone through three Ascents. My overall experience with this industry tells me it is dominated by small, new companies with emergent technologies and more than normal failures. Even the industry leader, S&B, is seeing a surprising number of failures in their new handhelds.

You paid for this thing and it didn't ship right away. Then they didn't respond to you. Then they shipped it, but without the cap. Then it appears to not be working right. And who knows if there is more to come. So I don't think anyone could fault you for packing it up and sending it back for a refund. If you do, I'll miss you in this thread as you seem like a good guy. (btw, this thread is great! I hope it lasts, and sometimes it doesn't when a vape gets more users, but this small little group of owners in here is pretty special in that they know their shit, help people out, and don't fanboy over the product...they know the company has some flaws right now.)

However, should you decide to stick it out I think you will be rewarded down the road. It will probably take more patience than is reasonable. And maybe even more than I would have. I have found that when dealing with problems with vape companies I get great results by being cool and understanding. If you decide to persevere we will be here to help and keep you sane! In my opinion, the product is worth it. It really might be my first choice if I had to pick only one. And so far, the company appears to be doing what it takes to get customers satisfied, albeit not expeditiously.

I can't tell if you have a bum unit since you don't have a cap or water tool to play with. We just don't know if, as a new user, you are creating the tight seal that the cap would. Also, as I've said before, English documentation for the MV is weak at best. They have a full Spanish manual, but only the quick start guide is in English at this point, and that leaves a lot of questions unanswered. I still don't really know what a lot of the accessories I have are supposed to do.

Anyhow, let's get that cap in and see if it works right first.

Just popping in to share that I got a magic flight water whip to use with my miniVAP and I don't recommend it. First thing I do with any new gear is take it apart and clean it. I pulled this thing apart (gently) to discover the silicone whip is glued into the glass adaptor with some cheap plastic spacer in the whip at that part. I pulled on it gently and it ripped out (that's how I discovered the glue). Yuck. On the hunt for a new type of water adaptor for the miniVAP for sure. Maybe the one ratchet is developing....

Just an FYI here.

Back on Dec. 7th I sent in inquiry to Jorge at MiniVap. He sent me back a reply on the 9th. Since then, I have sent 5 different email to him using the exact same email address but I haven't heard a thing from him since his first communique with me. Considering that some of you are experiencing the same thing, I'm wondering if there is something askew with their email system. Either that, or maybe something untold happened to Jorge, eh? I am less inclined to believe that they are just ignoring people by choice.

Could you get the hermes adaptor and just use a section of tubing from your already dismantled MFLB adapter?
Just a thought.

If the MV were an 80s action figure..
It'd be Modulok!

yeah totally, i mean i could use the MFLB one even, I just wanted to relay that it's real cheap for the price. I cut the section of silicone that was stuck into the adaptor and cleaned out the residue in the glass with iso. I have them sitting in an iso bath now. I'm sure I can cobble them back together and make them work (I got that silly little bubbler too - because I thought the whole package was a deal - but you get what you pay for)

Not that bummed, miniVAP is lovely dry, just a little sad my new accessory was a bust. I'm sure someone around here can hit me with an "I told you so".

You live, you learn

I should chime in to say that I bought some accessories direct from Hermes last week, they had told me previously via email that they would swap some screen from their pack for the tiny little one that sits at the very bottom of the chamber assembly (i just wanted a back up for that). So far the order hasn't been processed nor have they responded to a few messages regarding the order. So they are totally mia lately. Who knows why? Little companies are like that. I'm not so worried honestly...

HOLY SHIT!!!!!
My wife just found my MiniVap on the porch!!!
There is a god or some alien force out there on my side for a change!!!

Going to open package now!!!
Me so happy!!!

EDIT #1
So this Silver MV is so damn fine!!
Better than my black one in so many ways!
Firstly the finish matches on both halves!!
Secondly the silver makes the inside look so pristine white! Baskets only!!
Thirdly the buttons are super awesome!! They have silver flecks in them!!
I finally feel like i am holding an expensive vape!!!
And i have not even used it yet!! LOL!!
Battery is charging and i am waiting for it to finish and for the parts to reach room temp!
Last but not least the cap seems to be metal this time! My last one was plastic and light, this guy is heavy!

Enough talk, picture time!!!

Back in post #2908 it was reported that someone was ill, but the person they named was Alfredo not Jorge.

Oh my.. She's real purty.
Kinda prefer the silver over the gold model.. I'm at work awaiting your usage report. It may just tip me over this second core precipice I've been teetering on for a long while.:D

OK, again big thanks to everyone, I've had another day with the MV and am getting along with it better, it's very different to any other vape I've had, mostly for the better! I'm really hopeful that I'll receive the cap from them before Christmas (especially if it looks like the one in the pics above! Although, oddly I also have a new silver version but mine came with a black charging dock :( ) which would help a lot!

The MV does take a while to heat up on the first heat, but seems a bit quicker from there on, I've got used to turning it on in advance etc and have accepted that it just takes longer than my other vapes to heat up, I like how economic it is, and like the short sessions it gives, it really packs a punch when you get it right!

It's certainly done the trick for me this evening though! :D

Remember you can heat the core more quickly by drawing air through it with no herb inserted.

I do this every time and it turns the MV into a beast so much quicker!
Quite keen to try the decree kit!

Well one session down!
First setting which looked like pink? Not too sure but it was the lowest setting.

Heated for about 3 minutes and then the light stopped blinking.
Loaded up a small basket of my favourite herb, Girl Scout Cookies, and used the cap with my way of connecting a short glass straw.

Draw one, we have vapour!!! Nice light blue for the first hit and delicious!
Draw two yields thicker, fuller tasting vapour!!
Looks like my time spent with the E-Nano i managed to perfect a nice long steady draw!
Perfect for the MiniVap!

Quickly remove cap and insert Flexicone into WT adapter and draw 4 onwards are all amazing!

Empty basket and herb is still green although quite a bit dark but still green.
Crumble and refill basket.
5 more decent hits and clouds and then i had to tap out!

It's time to retire some vapes, clean out the cupboards and buy a spare MiniVap!
Don't ever want to be MinivapLess...

I waited for three sessions before I declared all was good with my replacement. Obviously now I know I didn't have to, but....I'm sure you know the feeling.

My lowest temp light is Blue....then Pink, Green and Red.....so are you still saying you have four temp settings?

Pleased to know you have a keeper.....my Gold replacement is perfect to this point.

LOL!!! As long as my unit heats and works as it should, all is good!
If something happens along the way... Oh well such is life!
At least i know the replacement part is fairly simple, just time consuming.

4 temp settings on my unit:
Blue
Pink
Green
Red
So all normal, just user error...
Now i have to try Pink first as it will most likely have even better flavour!

Had another session last night before bed!
Started on Pink then finished off on Green, awesome session with endless clouds again!

Will start at Blue tonight and see how it goes!

I've perfected my basket pack without the Arizer cap and holy shit! :ko:
Good material and a decent pack but without too much/little compression and this thing just gives and gives. I found that the pack seemed to give an even more discernable flavour spectrum.. Guess it is just that there's more herb there to give more flavour but WOW! Yum! I definitely gotta take this thing to Holland. :leaf::rockon:
