This and the battery life will be the most interesting parts of the first reviews, because if it's only half of what they claimed it will be a revolution in the market (but i'm not holding my breath ;) )

It just seems like a 400+/- degree airstream about an inch away from your mouth, going through an airway that small is going to be crazy hot. I, too, am interested to hear the first reviews!

Watching this thread anxiously. I didn't contribute but I would have (campaign was closed when I first read about it), but since then I've been following it closely... I'm so excited to see the recent updates!

A quick holiday update showing a vapor test!

I emailed Trevor to ask about my order number, so that I could get a sense of when my Grasshopper would be shipped out (I'm in the 1500-1700 range :( ). Here's a snippet from Trevor's reply that people may find informative:

"...The very first batch is pretty small. The batches will get progressively larger as we ramp up. Don't expect yours by the end of the month, but if everything keeps moving smoothly then it won't be to long."

Do you know if Trevor meant by the end of January? That's really exciting and I may have the change my address. I got an early bird and I'm looking to report back here when they finally ship.

Wasnt that thing designed so they could get consistent testing results? Anyways that looks like solid vapor and the heater doesnt look to be effected to much by heat drop. I wonder if that was hooked up to a fully working grass hopper or just maybe just something to test the heater?

edit- forget about my last sentence. I wasnt paying attention enough to notice the grass hopper at the bottom of the screen.

That is some solid vapor production that appears to remain consistent for the length of the draw.
According to the lights I time it at just under 4 seconds to come up to temp in that video.

I'm curious as to how warm the mouthpiece was at the end of the video though.

It would be nice if they could explain why all those hoses and valves are needed, instead of just a vacuum pump pulling the air.
We didn't see the load before and after either.

These last two updates have me so excited! The video in particular shows some fantastic vapor production. Can't wait to get my lips on this! Early birds by beginning next year?

In this case they probably don't want the vacuum pump to be pulling the vapor through it to have it gum the pump up and ruin it.
Instead it is pushing air into the chamber, as the air goes past it creates a vacuum that pulls the vapor in with it. The hose going to the top of the chamber down to the valves is most likely to bleed pressure off the vessel.

Edit.
They are either pumping air in, or using a vacuum pump to create a negative pressure on the vessel. I can't tell which exactly.
Either way it allows for repeatable testing, which is important for fine tuning. The human body isn't as exact as a setup like that is.

That's why it is better to be tested by a person, that way you won't gum up the pump.

Also that way you'll get an idea that is in some way relevant to answering questions like 'can the grasshopper whitewall a piece' rather than purely academic questions like 'can the grasshopper produce a lot of vapor when mechanically pulled through a chamber which is infinitely bigger than anything any of us are vaping through' lol

Finally they are right on time with their schedule.
They just forgot to mention it was 2014-2015 and not 2013-2014...

I understand not before end of December. But I may be wrong.

I would guess December, but could be wrong.

If My eyes see right the vape production stops after 30 sec?

A couple factors to consider: chamber load and temp.

Looks like it was set in the middle temps, so we are probably seeing the vapor cease because it has vaped all the compounds up to that temp.

I would love to see a video of slower fan speed + highest temp on a full chamber.
