Cheap High Quality Bubbler

I didn't notice the closed mouthpiece in the pic, but yeah - I can see why that wouldn't be ideal. All I saw was that it looked similar to the others but with a sidecar.

Okay! The FC-187 really does seem like it could be a great piece. I'll play the waiting game and see what everyone thinks when they arrive.

I'm just full of christmas cheer and want to buy myself a present now!

If you look closely at that pic, you can see the GB-187 is more intricate, basically because it has more slits.

The d-020-d got an upgrade recently, it's perc looks much closer to the GB-187.

The main difference I can think of now is that the GB-187 has 2 bands inside the matrix vs the d-020-d which only has 1.
So each slit is broken up into 2 holes in the d-020-d, and each slit is broken up into 3 holes on the GB-187.
Thanks! I guess that means the gb-187 has more diffusion with less resistance?

The top one will be my first recycler, hopefully the recycling will be ok. Any thought from those of you who own recyclers?

Don't know if anyone has actually reported back on that piece yet. It looks like a cool piece, but sorry to tell you I don't think it'll vortex very well (might recycle, but vortex is probably not going to work well). the perc is open ended, and will most likely go up the recycler outlet tube.

Still a nice looking piece, post a video so we can see how it looks/works.

Was a water vid of the fc-187 ever posted?

No, but look up the GB-187 on this thread, there should be several videos - different vendors but the perc appears to be identical

It's got a closed mouthpiece, with a very small hole, which adds noticeable drag.

Really? Your hole must be super tiny. I notice no extra drag at all on my D-020-W and I'm extremely picky on drag.

If anything, the smaller hole MP helps me pace my hit. I can't draw too fast/hard and run out of breath like on some pieces.

I just loaded it with water to double-check. Only notice drag when I'm pulling as hard as I can.

Kinda the exact opposite thing you want on a matrix rig.

Yours has a Matrix perc? Is there a newer version?

I was gonna say that I'd avoid pieces that look like you will have bubbles coming into the neck , because that means you will probably be getting your lips wet at the very least... Nobody wants that.

It looks good. Noticeable changes from the picture are that the neck connection is flat, and the mouthpiece is different from yingmin'5.

From the product page tho:
This Roor Bong is part of the new Logo Series, which is characterized by a special RooR Logo.

This newly designed RooR logo features a base color which in this case is black and is complemented by a contrasting outline, but most importantly the new RooR Logo Series Little Sista is made to the same exacting standards as all Roor bongs. They only use the purest, highest-quality borosilicate glass and are renowned by glass connoisseurs the world over for their workmanship.

For reliability, stability, extreme quality and unrivalled functionality, you cannot improve on China-made Roor bongs.

Height:12"
Color:Clear With ROOR LOGO
Glass thickness:5mm
Glass Tube Diameter:60mm
2 Percalators
Joint Size:18.8mm19#AC & Clear circular bottom

Please leave your comments for the colour. We will randomly

arrange the colour.

So you might want to double check with the seller if they are coming without logo's, or with RooR ones.

They really don't get it, do they... :(

Edit: In case anyone wondered what I was referring to, it is statements like this from that vendor quote: "For reliability, stability, extreme quality and unrivalled functionality, you cannot improve on China-made Roor bongs."

I am by know means an expert on being able to tell a recyclers ability to function or vortex by pictures. There are some things I do know from experience. One thing that is concerning is the perc because the 3 or 4 hole diffuser is left open on the end it is going to be very chuggy making the water splash violently which will make it harder to recycle. Also it is always better if the perc is above the return although that's not written in stone either because I have seen one that had no vortex at all with that configuration. That I believe was due to the perc not being straight. Bottom line in your case it may recycle water but I would be shocked if it vortexes. N By all means that does not take from nice color accents and cool look of it.

Well, I know for a fact another member here (who isn't a qualified glassblower afaik ) actually torched their mouthpiece and widened it up a little, so its not a problem unique to me...
Maybe its just a factor of varying tolerances for that mouthpiece hole?

Also, to be clear, when I say noticeable drag, its not like I hit the thing and said damn, that mouthpiece sucks...
It's more like I hit it, and there was just enough drag to put me off and think a bit further about WTF was causing it.
The mouthpiece was the only thing that made sense.

I didn't know there were any versions of the d020-w that had anything but a matrix perc?

Ordered a Fab Egg from Kathy on Dec 8, shipped on the 15th and cleared customs in BC today. Should have it before New Year's at this rate (faster if it weren't for Xmas). Can't wait to try it out!

That I did! Definitely not a qualified glass blower, nor did I use quite enough torch, but it worked fine. Love the D020-W, but not the small mouthpiece hole. More problematic for cleaning than hitting IMO, but both of the ones I have hit much better with the hole opened up. Not too hard to do with a decent butane torch, but officially not advising anyone to do this. If you try it, just be very careful.

I use one of mine much more than the other, and it is a favorite piece for me. Small, sidecar, just a little diffusion - pretty much perfect for a sit back with the nano piece IMO. Right now is still holding second in the glass pecking order here. Hoping the FC-187 will fill the gap between this and the jhanpixel sidecar (also very nice but a bit bigger and heavier - solid US glass).

Well I got my order from Steven. Initial impressions are highly positive. It hits real smooth, nice thick glass, seems well made. Nice.

I also got the recycler pictured in the same order. I am very happy with both pieces. Will be back with more later.

That looks absolutely gorgeous. They both do actually. Any chance we can get water tests anytime soon?:brow:
