so a question to you battery guys, do i need to keep my spare batt away from touching anything while in transport . like i would with my mflb batteries with caps. or is this a non issue with these more tech batteries.

It should not normally be a problem. MFLB is because we cut the insulating jacket off so 'dangerous contact points' are a few mm apart. With the jacket intact, that becomes 'end to end'.

There are plastic battery boxes for 18650s around, but as long as you don't throw it into a pocket already full of loose change, car keys and so on you should be fine. A single coin is not a problem like with the MFLB.

Good question.

Okay, so Arizer emailed me back about the battery cap issue I was having. I also asked them if I could purchase a new battery cap.

Here is the email they sent.

Hello,

Thank you for your email.

I am sorry to inform you but you cannot purchase a new battery end cap without a serial number. The serial number is specific to your unit and it is normal for there to be a line on the battery cap from the contact pin.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Best Regards,
Kevin

@CarlosSpiceyWeiner You do not have a serial number on your unit? Do you own an Air?

EDIT
Sorry if I missed something. I try to keep up on this thread. Nothing gets past @OF.

Bummer, but kind of to be expected IMO. Time to enjoy the Air and not worry? If it acts up function wise, send it in.

It still looks to me like something took a ding out of the board just inside the 'track' of the spring loaded contact? Where does the contact 'land' relative to that spot? If it's not there I don't see any issues past cosmetics. If it happens to be spot on top of it, perhaps a shim of say dental floss? That is take a turn or two of it at the shoulder end of the threads on the body so the cap stops a bit sooner and the contact 'clocks' around a bit off the damaged area? I suggest dental floss as it's tough and the waxed version will stay put.

Good luck with it.

Looking for a small stash tube that is just a tiny bit bigger than the OD of the Air stem , Would like to just push a stem into the tube and load it when on the go. Its hard finding ones on ebay etc that list the inside diameter . I want it to be small like 2 -3 in in length and as small in diameter as possible with fitting the stem . I have a regular size jyrze and its just to big ,but a small little 2 inch tube with cap would be great any suggestions ?

Yeah I already looked at those but they are to big at 5.25 inches long so the stick stem in and pack method won't work with the small air stems .Plus they are out of stock

This was discussed in some detail a week or so back. Several of us offered suggestions.

Ok, thought I was up to date will give it another look through , thank you.

You can use the large container that the PVHES straight mouthpiece comes in and add some cotton at the end to add space. Then the stem wouldn't be clankiing around inside the tube. Another use for cotton. What about a small spice container?

Hi Best Forum on the Net.

I'm close to picking up an Inhalator S and just saw the Arizer Air. I've been a longtime home user of the Solo and love the flavor/clouds it produces. It seems that all Arizer did with the Air as make it slimmer and add a replaceable battery. I'm surprised that the Air still takes about 2 minutes to heat up.

My interest in the Inhalator S (versus the new Air) is that it seems to heat up within 30 seconds and it also has a protective cap that covers the stem which is wonderful for portability. Even being careful, I've broken several Solo (and PVHES) stems.

If anyone here has any advice for me between the Inhalator S and new Arizer Air, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

air first cause of its miserility :) which will free up enough loot to get the INH05s in about a month cause they both rock!:)

I have both the Solo (actually have two) and the INH05 S version. I have read allot of the messages in this thread and had a careful look at the Air (but I do not own one). I agree that the Air is a smaller version of the Solo with battery replacement and if I had to replace my Solo, I would most likely do so with an Air as I have two Solo's anyway so if one went down I would buy the Air and have an Air and a Solo.

Saying that I really like the INH05. I think the INH05 is slightly more stealth than the Air due to the glass mouthpiece on the Air and the capsule for the INH05 which is under the cap.

Arizer is a great company though and I am sure that you can not go wrong with an Air as the Solo is a solid piece of equipment and I have no doubt the Air is too. Saying that if I had to choose, which I did, I chose the INH05 (I do have two Solo's though).

The INH05 battery life is a bit better than the Air. Battery replacement is easier in the Air than the INH05. The INH05 is USB charging. The INH05 has better temperature range both for lower and higher range but not that big of a difference that I would let this alone determine my decision. The heat up time of the INH05 S that I own is 25 seconds which is AWESOME. I am vaping in less than 30 seconds if I need to. Lower temp, less clouds, great taste. Higher temp, better clouds, great taste but slightly harsher due to the higher temp. You can use an additional mouthpiece or buy the aero capsules which allow you to set the amount of air intake with the vapour. Nice feature.

The two units are different and again, if I were to get another unit to replace a Solo it would be an Air.
If you do not have a portable vape, it is a toss up. The reason is that (as stated in an earlier post) they both rock.

For me the final deciding factor was stealth. I found that the glass mouthpiece at the top of the Air less stealth than the mouthpiece (capsule) on the IN05 (base or S).

I also have an Ascent that I use. I have had the Pinnacle Pro, Davinci, iTorch, MFLB and iolite as portables.

Outstanding. Thanks for the feedback. I too used a fresh cap, I didn't even think about a stretched out one not gripping the tube well, I'll know to avoid it.

I figure you've also discovered it's really easy to poke it on (and have it stay) and pinching the cap to flatten it out a bit makes it very easy to slip it off (as it releases the grip on the edges of the MP)?

Since you have a few spare ones, you might try slicing half or so off one? I found it made the stiff caps much easier to deal with getting on since the cavity was more shallow and therefore the mouth couldn't collapse so much and fight back as hard.......

Thanks again.

OF

Yeah the cap flattened a bit to the shape of the mouthpiece and works perfectly. I also cut off half the end cap and it made it much easier to get off. A couple times I struggled to get the cap off and spilled the bowl when it finally popped off. Shortening the cap solves this problem, thanks.

I know not many people will have access but I grabbed a 1/2" endmill case from work that fits my spare battery nicely for a little extra protection:

Wow the stems were much harder to clean than I expected. I'm new to vaping so I didn't know vapor resin sticks like that. Still a little sticky around the mouthpiece, I'll try to floss it out since ISO didn't get it all.
Any tips?

Sure thing. Forget solvents, the best they can do is dilute the junk, and then redeposit it when they evaporate off. You need to rinse with fresh solvent, probably a few times.

Or use detergent, which will rinse free in tap water. This is, IMO, the hands down winner:
http://www.amazon.com/PBW-Five-Star--1-lb/dp/B0064O7XBA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419184494&sr=8-1&keywords=powdered brewery wash

You can also get it elsewhere, of course, including 'home brewing' shops.

It was, as the name implies, developed for breweries to use to clean really nasty gunk out of brew kettles and the like without scrubbing. It uses 'oxygen action' to scrub stuff out, conditions the water to be effective (no hard water issues) and rinses free easily. It's even 'environmentally friendly', much more so than solvents. You only need a pinch in very hot water (let it soak), that one pound tub should outlast several stems easily.

I use a 'travel tube' from PV to wash. Put it in, cap it up, and gently agitate every few minutes. Does an amazing job on WTs as well, even that much abused and neglected bong left over from your blazing days.

try again with the iso and add salt which helps scrape off the resin without causing any damage. Shake the whole thing and it should be spotless after a minute or so. rinse it out after of course...

If anyone is wondering about the Air read through some of the features probably read through at least 15 pages and get caught up. Some things are discussed more than others. We haven't had this unit for very long so some things we're learning together. People helping people and learning from each other that's what FC is all about.

EDIT
That's right we have a Best Of, maybe start with that.

Stay charged, my friends
Overall the vape is phenomenal! Improvements, hmm mm, would would have to think about that...maybe a bit of haptic feedback when it reaches operating temp, and maybe a way to tweak the run time, say, to eleven minutes. imagine that, an Air that goes to eleven!
