MiniVAP Vaporizer

lazylightning

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
Hermes stands behind their products and everyone that has had issues has been sorted out easily and without too many hassles.

Don't get me wrong, I love the MiniVAP but based on my experiences I don't think a blanket statement like that can be made. I've spent quite a number of hours of my time so far on this have waited several week. I still have a two-tone silver and black MV and it's been 10 days since I've heard back from Hermes after writing twice to an email address that has always worked before. I hear someone is sick, but if a whole business stops when one employee gets sick, that doesn't bode well for getting issues sorted easily and without too many hassles.

Your trying to return the units because the battery and heater portion of the vape aren't a perfect match? If you are, chances are your waiting will be for naught because I'm pretty sure all of them are like that.

If both your units work as they should I highly suggest that you keep them rather than waste your time trying to get a perfect matching heater/battery.

No as I mentioned in my long sad story, I ended up with a complete silver unit and a complete black unit. The black battery doesn't work and the silver core is way too hot so for now I have a black core and silver battery. Not looking for perfect...just the same color. The black battery and core match perfectly and so do the silver battery and core.

I'd love a look at Hermes HQ. See just what kinda size their operation actually is.
I kinda agree. For some reason, it feels like a smaller shop with a genius designer. Maybe needs more international customer service representatives to help. My brand new silver minivap, still in its plastic is sitting underneath my bed because my little nephew and niece are in town for the holidays. I bought mine on Thanksgiving and hope it doesn't have problems. Hopefully, these complaints are just a small percentage of a larger group of owners (every great product has a few rotten apples)

It must be odd, what with looking forward to the holidays being over and all..

Also just wanna pipe up, my current black unit has been rocking since June/Julyish and is a good as the day I got it (after two dodgy ones).. So not all black cores are screwy :suspicious::mental:

Almost there...
According to Canada Post i should have mine back on the 22nd of December!!!

I originally received my first unit on October 11
Returned November 15
Replacement should be here next week!

So for about two weeks of solid reliable service i am so looking forward to having a longer lasting unit!
Here's hoping!!
Maybe that second one is closer than i think!

Well I ended up back on my Davinci Ascent last night, I just couldn't get any satisfying clouds etc from the MiniVap, I'm assuming the lack of top cap might have something to do with this?

This is a huge thread, if anyone can point me in the direction of an easy intro into getting the best from the MV I'd be really grateful :D

You need to press for a good seal and draw a good volume of hot air through your load, try different load sizes, packing/cutting style or bowl size helps.

Just glancing thru the accessories list and I see they modified the glass adapter stem....made it a little shorter. Should fit the flexicone better.

I think you will get best results from getting a cheap bubbler somewhere...one where you can use the MV inverted. Once you have used it like this you will probably never use the missing cap. I never used my cap until I got the custom made gong fitting for it. You're a trooper for pushing through, though. The good news is this is one vape you can actually get to work very well without the cap while you wait. They do have another one on the way for you, yes?

I think, at the moment, a good way to describe this vape is as "one of the best, if you are willing to endure some of the company's growing pains." The growing pains are real and are hitting enough people that they need to be considered.

It makes sense that you would expect a complete product with matching colors rather than have to be satisfied with a cobbling together of various pieces in order to get a working unit.

While it's nice in the short term to have a working unit, the company should be willing to get you a complete product and if the replacements aren't working then they're not really replacements at all but rather non-working solutions to solve the problem you have ... to get the complete and working product you paid for.

Thanks again, and yes I'm going to stick with it as I've wanted one for months, everything I've read about them implies that they're the best on the market and that's what I'm looking for, it has to be said though that so far I'm very much let down by not only the service but the vape itself but I know it's early days so I'll keep at it. They're apparently sending a cap on Monday, whether they do or not remains to be seen!

Even the fact that the case it comes in is a generic camera case seems poor when you consider the price of this unit, to be honest.

Not sure what size basket your using, just don't over pack it. Just try filling it with very little if any compaction. See if that works better for you. It should.

If Hermes says they are sending you out a cap, they will be true to their words.

Oh, and I disagree with you on the case. The CaseLogic bag provided is of good quality and it's better than what you get with most. They could have easily provided what I got with my Crafty.....which is nothing.

.............................................................................................................................
Quick guide:
---For max flavor, minimal vapor path for minimal condensation. Flexicone basket with 2" hard mouthpiece.
Especially satisfying on blue and pink temps. With a whip mouthpiece, a little cooler.
When you have a cover---not to rub in the missing cover
mVbskt.jpg

Small bubbler , with small volume can is very valuable. My pics with Mobius Ion but see cheap glass thread for many clones which are not works of art like Mobius but they are VERY functional, get the job done.

Next pic is with MFLB water whip (tube to 14 mm Cong). Magig Flight whip is approx $30
IonwMFLBwhip.jpg

Next pic is probably my favorite water connection. "Flexicone wire basket module" shown in first picture, snapped into the cover. You can hit the lower temps with straight draw thru hard mouthpiece or whip. Then it literally takes 3 seconds to unscrew cover and pop module, basket side up, into a 14 mm bubbler joint:

Invert mV over the basket and enjoy.

And finally, latest creation from 3D printer wizard, AKA Ratchett.

This silicone molded piece will go over the cover and be available in 14 mm or 18 mm.
You can leave unit upright and slip hydratube style piece onto it.
You can also invert unit into a bubbler.
I hope to have it by shortly after Xmas and will review/ post pics.

I actually like the case logic camera bag because it's a great portable bag. Small enough to travel with, and plenty of compartments for storing different things

Wow brilliant write up Minnbobber, very much appreciated! It looks like I need to spend a few more quid on some extras! I've not got into water tools yet but they seem pretty popular here!

Maybe I'm being picky with the bag, but I would expect it to be branded etc rather than a non-specific generic bag, I've had better bags with vapes that have cost me less than half the price of the MV ~ It's details like that and tip top customer service that you expect from a premium brand! But again I know I'm being picky, the bag's not really important as long as the vape perfoms!

I wouldn't exactly say I'm missing out, as the Aromed is best of all time IMO and the Mighty is a fantastic portable.
You tried an MV yet?.. I haven't tried the Aromed or Mighty.. But others on here have did comparisons with the mighty and the MV won out in their opinions
So imo you are missing out.

Bastards :D.. Think if I contacted them and told of my breaking the lid trying to get the older one to fit that they'd hook me up?

He is using my mV pieces for creating this. The first proto was done and needed a micron or two adjustment :)

I hope to get the adjusted version shortly after Xmas and will promptly test.....
and post pictures if able after testing lol.

It looks like a winner. 14 mm and 18 mm options.
