David Goldstein's Fritted Disc

If it is any comfort to anyone who got burned on this thread by this guy you can rest assured that I never bought a DG piece and this thread is 100% the reason why. Those YouTube videos of the crazy stacking in his pieces really sucked me in but once I got a real honest account of the pieces I decided it was not for me. Thanks FC because I feel like I saved some money and disappointment

I know this was an old post but I just got a David Goldstein mini and I'm having trouble unclogging my frits. His website says to use acetone but I'd much rather prefer your method of heating up the iso. What do you mean by a green rinse?

LoL, he said. It took me a few reads but I got it.

I've been using Mean Green

Doesn't smell as bad as SG and seams to be doing just as well. For my purpose the mean green is cheaper, I just dump it down the sink anyway. My guess is the SG is a better all around cleaner, but I just use mine on glass. Works great for removing Chocolate Milk rings on dirty dishes too, lol.

Gotta say the flavor from my DG mini is much better than my Swagger Hydra tree when paired with my Cloud. Its all about the water level, and minimal the volume of the piece for flavor.

Even my dry mouthpiece has been shelved, and I LOVE that damn thing. Find your sweetspot.

I have been considering getting a second DG fritted disc piece off a trusted fellow FCer. What are the issues one should look for with this kind of piece if it is a second or not made by DG?

Wow, just read some pages of this thread. Ofc now I really want a fritted piece, but I'd also rather quit vaping than give my money to Dave.

Is there any dhgate sellers who have similar pieces? Or american if it's not $200+

Oh and regarding the FAQ page that Caligula mentioned; looks like they do read this thread, because someone edited it so it sounds more appropriate. Sneaky f**kers..

I see he still puts those shit ass labels on there too.

BTW, have you ever browsed this guys webpage? Dude seems like a grade A dick.

Check out some of the stuff from this FAQ page:

http://roosterapparatus.com/faq/

Q. Can I get custom fabrication?
A. Sculpture, worked sections and other non-functional external decoration are frowned upon.
Apparatus with non-functional decoration is extremely rare and not available for less than a thousand dollars.

Q. Can my friend who blows glass decorate the piece in the aftermarket?
A. This is very risky and not recommended. The first bonehead who tried broke the piece.

Q. Can I get a splash guard?
A. No. If you don’t like water in your mouth, choose a chimney shape

Q. I have a fritted disc that has a growing crack through the center from every day usage. If you could email me so I can show you some pictures of the disc and get some answers and help. Thanks Dave! Jason.heinzmann@gmail.com

Never heard that before. There is no rationale for such a thing happening unless you are dropping stuff on it, or cleaning it with boiling water, both of which are negligence on your part.

There is a possibility that the disc was broken (by rookie worker) to start with. Send a pic of the damage and piece to glassguy@spiritone.com. If it’s a rookie piece, I can accept it was broken to begin with and replace it. If it was made by someone who’s got experience, I’m attributing it to negligence on your part.

Pieces that are broken to begin with don’t work right to begin with, they usually come right back through the retailer. Your story falls on the doubtful side thus far

Yeah I can't seem to find any single fritted disc pieces on dhgate. They all have a tornado disc above them. Or is that actually a beneficial thing? And none of them come with that widened oval area above the fritted disc. Like this:

Those Max Glass Quality ones look neat though.
