After following this thread for a long time and even getting to dream about the VM:brow:
I'm finally going to buy one!

But I have the feeling there hasn't been much talking about what grinder to use for the vapman.
What kind of grinded herbs do you need for the best vaporisation? Which works the best?
Would a normal 4 piece grinder do the work or are special grinders like the nano or MFLB Finishing Grinder more suitable?

Thanks!

and cheers from Chile!

I use a fourpiece as well. Semifine grind.

Honestly, after I got the concentrate screen I'm almost only vaping hash.

Just have to type it out clearly for the browsers, googlers and lurkers:

The Vapman with a concentrate screen is THE perfect vape for import hashes.

Peeeeerrrrrrfect, I say!

I've been using bHO wax in my vapman since i received the concentrate sieves with great success. It's slower then dabbing taking me 6-10 hits to finish a half of a 'BB' size piece of wax but the results are great. I experience a lot less coughing than with my only other oil vape the Maud-dib that does the same amount in one or two hits. Still i like it better with herbs though and myself wouldn't get a vapman if i was only going to do BHO in it.

:peace:
Thanks for the advice

@NorVape i had to put your words to a test yesterday. now i understand your enthusiasm. :) the thread on the best portable for hash is not open for replies anymore, but the vapman should be added there somehow.
to those wanting a longer mouth piece, the vapman looks and works really good with the mflb dart stem. :)

@axakal We should make a slightly eurocentric thread about vaping hash, because I think information online about vaping hash needs to be improved in order to spread the joys of vaporizing through out hash loving Europe :)

A lot of the products in this industry cater spesifically to American consumers and the materials they're vaping.

I still just use a medium grind from a 4 piece and get fine results. I can maybe finish a bowl with a fine grind in a couple less hits but the results in the end are the same either way.
I use that shot glass + Stainless Steel Strainer that I posted about the other day. It's so simple, quick, easy and cheap... I get a pretty thin grind with it too.

OK, get ready for some MAJOR Vapman Porn here!

I took my Two-toned Charred Vapman to a local Laser Engraver and he did this work of art on it. I found him by searching google and when I saw his sample work I was hooked. I didn't know if he could do it at forst, because of all the curves on the Vapman. Then I got the idea of engraving the bottom ring and it turned out he could do it.

I really like the design on the bottom ring the most, because you look at that while you torch it. I can see people putting cool Bob Marley (or any other) quotes around that ring. I wasn't sure what to put on the ring, and he's the one who came up with the Celtic Rope idea.

He can do custom engraving and I believe that he will also have some n stock to engrave and ship.

Nick is real patient and easy to work with guy and knows his stuff. He had the patience to deal with all my stupid questions!

Also, the engraving at the bottom was dead center on that ring - which is very important! and he has all the measurements down for engraving the Vapman, so there will be no guess-work.

I gotta tell you that I was pretty scared to do this on my Vpaman - What if it turned out badly, or this guy didn't know what he was doing and messed up my beautiful Vapman??? But it turns out he did a perfect job, which I should have known judging by his sample pictures.

Check out the sample work on his website: http://www.colaserengraving.com/ I highly recommend him.

Now for the Vapman porn (The engraving looks much sharper in person):

OMG! I love the celtic knot design on your VM @M0J0 - it's so, so beautiful!! I'm green with envy!! That's one stunning and very unique piece of art you have there. I didn't think it would be possible to love the VM any more than I did already - how wrong was I!

The ring looks amazing.
I was really in shock when he handed it to me. I can't stop looking at it now!

I think I'm going to carry it in my pocket every day and look at it when I feel down. hahahaha

Oh, I was telling him to see if he can make a box to hold the Vapman with the mouthpiece off. This way it'll be flat and pocketable.

Let's see if he can come up with something.

Don't be jealous, just send him your Vapman. You'll have to use something else while it ships though. Unless you're like most of us and have more than one.

I'm going to check if my all black (all charred) Vapman can be engraved too.

Maybe he can do white?

I'm going to check with him.
This is a new type of VAS! hahahaha

now if he only had an adress of a guy in europe for us, poor european souls, who can do the same to our vampans. :) otherwise we're bound to suffer from vampan envy.

Should be pretty easy, lots of 'em around. Look for 'laser engraving'. Lots of garage operations (I had some engraving done by a guy 25 or so miles away a few years back, his rig cost him $600....I was his 'break even customer').

I suspect the gear has come down in price (it's basically a printer and lower power laser in a box), perhaps a guy could set himself up and be the EU go to guy?

Celtic or Nordic? I have no idea! I'm not even going to demonstrate my stupidity by asking you what the difference is. I'll go to Wikipedia and see if I can learn something.

I'm such an uncouth dope. I admit I know almost nothing of Europe, but I wish I knew! My dream is to travel to Eourope and learn by visiting those historic places.

You should be able to find a laser engraver close by. I recommend Nick because he knows what he's doing. I don't want to imagine someone messing up my Vapman - it would be almost like getting a bad tattoo!

It really was intense for me to watch, untill I saw the results. WOW! I still smile when I remember it. :ko:

Hey,

May I ask you a question ?

I vape since one month or smthg with my Lovely Davinci Ascent.

I actually Fuckedcombustion totally (i got some significant physical withdrawal) but i really miss "the art" of rolling a perfect joint and the flame of my lighter - but not the taste so i can't go back.

I would love to find a Vaporizer which can grow on me. At this time I think about swap my Ascent for a Solo (for session at home with my bro. I can't do that correctly with the davinci) and add a PinneAcle Pro for daily portable usage (more discreetness+bullet reaload).

But a small voice repeat in me : Vapman, Vapman, Vapman !

As I'm half French/Swiss I must consider this great unit with brilliant eyes. And FINALLY a good reason to carry a JET LIGHTER.

But I used to smoke a lot. Then I vape a lot by now.

The VapMan is a real option or just a nice Toy for someone who want a bit of fun ?

I means can I compare the vapour quality/density with the Solo or the Pinneaccle Pro ? And could I get the same high in one session or I gonna spend my time in reloading (I can do two bowl in a row with my davinci ez at night) ?

At the end, I think have a "manual" experience with vape can be interesting but should I wait to buy one later for luxury ? or the Vapman do the job as any "electronic" unit ?

Thanks for reading.

Best Regards. FuFu.

Ps : MOJO, really nice pics.

Salut FuFu !

Coming from the same route, I must tell you go for manual experience since you know what is vaporization and "good" vapor from an automatic device.
I've been fucking combustion easily thanks to the ashtray taste too. I've been using electronic stationary and portable vapes before manuals one (Vaponic, Lotus and Vapman is coming soon !, ...) and it was the best choice ! I'm still thankful for people who were advising and inspiring me, here on FC ! It's not "just a nice toy" ... since it will give much more reward to the act of vaporizing. You won't feel dependent of your electronic device and batteries but instead will develop a true relation with your vape. It will last you for years and you will be ausing it without need of electricity for days if you can stash some butane bottle in a car, a tent or a backpack !

I was also smoking "a lot" and was vaping much more than now during my early days. I learned how to conserve with manual vapes ! You loose nothing as the bowl being so small makes it so efficient. Also it will be much more easy to learn the "less is more" with such small bowl. Of course when I feel it right, I like to enjoy and just vape a little bit more... But with some electronic vape (bigger bowl you'll just end up to put more, and personally I always prefer to "finish" a load, so it's also the reason.
Almost one year ago, I broke my daily driver stem. My lighter based vape became my daily driver during weeks and I had 2 portable battery powered vapes getting rest. Just to let you know how good it can be !

Lighter based vape isn't for everybody and especially for novice vapers but I still consider it's a must have for any decent vaporist arsenal !

Bref, écoute ta petite voix ;)
Peace!

welcome aboard @InFuFuWeTrust. the vapman is a vaporizer that can really grow on you. especially after seeing pictures of @M0J0 's there should be no doubt left. :) it will take a little bit of practice, but once you're there, you're going to enjoy it. i consumed more while learning, now i'm down to around 0,05g for a load. and one load can get you pretty medicated, when done right. you may need a second load, butit's not always the case. since it depends on some personal factors, this is just my subjective experience. i don't know, how much the ascent takes, but now you have got a value to compare with. you can get the basic first, if your funds are tight.
and as @NorVape will enthusiasticly advertise, it can do hash. picture hard pressed brown hash, like we know it in europe. i'm really greatful to finally have the option to vape hash properly. :)

Hey @InFuFuWeTrust, I had a Pinnacle Pro and a Vapman.

The PnP bullet system is very nice but it takes a while to heat up. I had babied mine because I worried about the collar issues. It wasn't something I would just throw in my pocket because the mouthpiece could pop off with a little pressure and make a mess. To me, the vapor from the PnP is much harsher than the Vapman. In my situation, the water tool was out of the question so every session ended with copious coughing. And...there is just no ritual to the experience. It's a tool and nothing more.

I rarely cough with the Vapman. It hits nicer and if I push it, I can get clouds equivalent to the PnP. The Vapman is not a tool, it's a companion. The biggest drawback for me is the smell and sound associated with the torch. If stealth isn't a primary concern, I believe the Vapman is a hell of a value and a better experience. And, you can make the experience as quick or as slow as you want; you are in total control.

In fact, I sold my PnP to help pay for a Crafty. Vapman and Crafty meet my needs wonderfully.

Great name @InFuFuWeTrust

I suspect we come from similar joint cultures. I too was a joint rolling artisan, and not those sloppy US jays, we´re talking beautifully crafted splifs, filled with weed, Moroccan hash and organic tobacco, shaped like a baseballbat, with a perfect filter, that would always burn straight... ahh, the only thing I miss about smoking, but, as you say, not the taste! And not what smoke does to my body... YUCK!

I bought the Pinnacle Pro as my first vape, because I believed it was the closest vape-replacement to jays, but no. Even though I love it, it's a very delicate vape. Don't get me wrong, it hits like a hammer to the head, and the bullet system is a very, very cool thing, but it is not a solid vape regarding build and choice of materials. I started fearing it would die on me soon, so I bought what I saw as a rather cheap, flame powered vape as a back up - the Vapman.

It is all I use now. I works PERFECT with hash, PERFECT with weed, PERFECT with shatter etc.

It is quick, and also very efficient. You only use a tiny amount of hash or weed.

It is super easy to bring along, and easy to travel with.

It gets you very, very fucked up, very very fast.

More and more of my friends are buying it now. It is in many ways the perfect vape for us ex-splif lovers.

Super solid build, beautifully crafted, love the design... Honestly, I'm in love with the little man... *pause*

There are so many interesting electrical portables coming out now, so I wouldn't recommend buying the PnP now. There is a new Pinnacle coming out next year, and I have high hopes for it.

Edit: Oh, yeah, about the heavy smoker thing... I used to smoke two grams of hash a day, I just realized that five grams of hash have lasted me more than two weeks with the Vapman... and I feel HIGHER than I used to when I smoked two grams a day.

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
I received my pear classic vapman 4days ago, tracking stop showing upgrades after it arrives in my country customs office while vapman was actually on the road on his way home (still "at customs" while it was in my house).

One of the reasons I like FC is because its contents are reliable. No matter how high expectations were set, I've never be disappointed until now (choosing solo lotus and vapman)

Still in learning how to use stage, but i definitely like it

Magnifique-solid built - Easy to use - Very conservative effective.. you all know

Only downside IMO: taste is not on the top. I mean, since firsts hits (if you warm it enough in order to get nice quantity of vapor, not huge hits) it is already a little coocked-like. Not bad taste at all but not as freshy, as grassy as it can be with mainly convection vapes (lotus vaponic solo), to get this freshy taste you have to warm it lightly without visible vapor IME. That was expected with a mainly conduction vape and it is definitely not a deal breaker.

I think Vapman and Lotus are best team to put to sleep portable VAS. While they are easy to use, there are literally infinite settings possibles with each one of these two and so infinite experiences, you never get bored by them

i'm quite confident Vapman dry and lotus lightly water filtered will be my main driver at least while waiting for eu version of enano to come.

PS vapman lighter is very useful to, a fine small torch with large butane tank
