Dry tube, I presume?
I would hope so. With HT or other glass, using water, the EVO is as smooth and easy on the throat and lungs as any vape I've used.
Agreed.

For me, all conditions right with the herb & temp, it's like breathing in fresh air - right up to the last bit of vapor.
Amen. It's just perfect, every single time.
In light of the adamant defenses I thought I'd try experimenting with my technique, and I do find that a slower draw does indeed result in a smoother, less harsh hit!

I guess it's my recreational heritage, but I'd always been ripping the evo with my full lung power :D
While that did give thick, white hits they were quite hot and harsh :2c: But drawing at a relaxed normal breathing speed does seem to cool the vapor more

update-

I recently relocated and decided to give the EVO a second chance in my new place. Im not sure if it's because of me being in a lower elevation, or if I just never got the hang of this thing until now...but whoaaa...my perspective of this product has totally changed.

The evo, when used right* lol, works just like it looks, a vapor bong.

Ive been able to get about 7 really big thick clouds per bowl. I found it works best to let the EVo come to temp with the fresh bowl loaded as it heats up. And the post session ABV is consistent and has zero combustion with the dial around 2 o clock.

glad i broke this thing back out

You are very wise Danielson

Man woke up this morning to use my cloud flipped it on for a couple minutes to warm it up. Went to put my elb in and my bamboo had a piece sticking out of it like it was slightly shattered.. Sad times. Support said there's a possibility I could get charged for a new bamboo piece. Only have had my cloud for 2 months too. What a bummer

Don't fret, they should be able to tell if the broken bamboo was your fault or not. If it's determined to be not your fault you won't be charged while you are under warranty

I hope so man.. Haven't even set that thing down hard let alone drop it or knock it over.

Please don't call the Vape Ape an e-nail. It's just a generic e-cigarette exposed coil being marketed as a cheap oil vape pen. There are much better portable oil vaporizers than the Vape Ape, similar in form but much higher in performance and without the fiberglass; and then there are serious desktop e-nails like a D-Nail, which don't have a single thing in common with e-cigarettes.

First of all, that's what they call the coil piece....I dont know what else to call it, so it's getting called an e-nail sorry. Maybe you should have said something when I made a vape-ape thread on here to get info on it before I went ahead on my decision to get a globe. And really, aside from my issue with the whicks, it does work fine, and the battery is great, and I like the design, and it did get well reviewed elsewhere (I also looked into the Gentleman brand but people had similarly mixed things to say about that).

I also called it fiberglass because someone else frighteningly obserbed they thought it was that... I HOPE whicks aren't actually fiberglass...

Anyway, feel free to mention any of these similar but higher performing products, I couldn't really find any and they all seem rather similar for the most part, especially from my local shop.

*for everyone else, I still could use some good advice for hydratube selection and maybe some info about any upcoming sales/massdrops for this thing?

I am devoted fan of the exhale evo. However, the side circ HT that came with my unit literally ate my Ed Wood brand new adapter while I was trying to use it with my new solo. I have another huge recycler by a glass maker named doughboy and that piece connected perfectly with my exhale and my new solo using the adpater. When I bought my unit in May there were many more hydra tubes to chose from. Now there are only 5. If you are willing to spend the money you could look at makers like mobius or scientific glass. The point is there are many water pieces that will fit your exhale and after my side circ slipped out of my hands and broke while I was trying to pry the adapter lose. I remain a little disappointed with exhales hydra tubes. The water pieces should be interchangeable as long as you are putting an 18mm with an 18mm.

Not a good experience and I was so looking forward to using my side circ with my solo for traveling purposes but I suppose that is not to be. I know I'm gonna make some people mad but the exhale hydra tubes are not the only game in town. The exhale hooked up to right water tool is the ultimate device and it pairs nicely w my doughboy but both are just too big if you want something a little more portable.

I wanted to buy glass from him hearing that it fit the evo perfectly but had no idea how to find his stuff so I had to settle for a WT from my local head shop.
Doughboy is hard to find. Another FC member hooked me up w him but now doughboy isn't taking orders from individuals that I know of. It's a beautiful peice - it was made especially to deal with my throat issues.
who out here can help our friend here?.
I'm still waiting for my bubbler for the new solo. It might go well with the exhale as well

Check out the glass thread

Can anyone help me with my EVO?

I have tried using it with fresh packed ELBs (from 1/2-3/4 packed before putting the cap) starting from the 9,10,11,12,1,2,and 3 O'clock position on the temp dial, using the stock mouth piece, a swagger tree, an 18mm watertool, and upside down in 2 different recyclers and I am having less than impressive results to say the least.

Does anyone know the temps? Why don't they have any info on them?

This is my second EVO and both perform very poorly. Any of my portables will outshine the EVO without trying.
I thought my first EVO was bad because it sounded like a referee blowing a whistle when I took a draw.
The second one is the same but supposedly it was gone over with a fine tooth comb to assure it was free of defects..

The EVO will not produce any visible vapor in any of the water tools or the stock horn no matter what "temp" its on, however I will blow out viseable vapor but far from "clouds".

Is it also normal that the EVO takes almost a half hour to cool down to the point you feel comfortable putting it away?

I've even tried "throttling" the bottom hole a bit to give the EVO some draw restriction and got no better results.

Thanks in advance my friends.

@Stu at what temperature?
What are the temps per dial position?
I was packing the ELBs loosely in my trials as well. When I said fresh packed ELBs I mean I used over an 1/8oz of material in every way I could think of.

What is a good default position on the dial? I used 12 O'clock as my default starting point but have no clue what temperature that is.

This is what I do, Doc:

1 -- turn the unit all the way up to heat up
2 -- fill elb 1/3 to 1/2 full without packing
3 -- after light turns green, turn the dial down to between 12 and 2
4 -- after light turns green, insert elb and hit it
5 -- if it is whistling really loudly, then you need to slow your draw
6 -- exhale and repeat

The fill of the elb helps some, but it sounds to me like you are pulling too hard with that whistle. Give it a nice, slow drag like an SSV. Once you get that down you can speed it up and find the right spot. You can huff on this thing harder than most vapes, but you can also overwhelm it and the loud whistle is usually the sign. I used to give mine a 20 minute heat soak before hitting and it works well, but this method of turning it high and then back down is getting me similar results in less time. If this method doesn't work then I would say you have a bad unit. I now have several heavy hitters that have caught up with the size of the Evo's hits, but I still don't have anything that can cloud a room more.

I will get back to you. And you should contact them right away, PErsonal message SM55 and tell them it's not working correctly.

The more I read the more problems arise with units and I'm still upset that my side circ basically ate mr new Ed Wood adapter. Right now my solo is performing as well as my exhale

AFAIK, the 12 position should be close to 350F

Try the 1/4 looser pack at ANY temp, and you'll see improvement. For dense cloudage, you will want to bump up to 2 or 3.

I use the regular mouthpiece usually, up to 1.

Is it possible for the Bamboo to stick to the HT or other Glass attachments and crack the air tube?? I feel that my air path is slightly pulled out and has some rust color residue, and it looks like it may be crooked.

I got an email today from VapeXhale that promoted new products, one of which is a glycerine-filled chilling tube. I have used a similar chilling tube (http://silversurfervap.com/index.ph...ling/glycerin-cooling/saturn-vapor-tamer.html). To maximize the cooling effect, the chilling tube should be the last tube closest to your mouth. I found that if I placed the chilling tube between the EVO and the HT, it seemed less cool due to the diffusion. Additionally, a slow draw maximizes coolness.

Ok am I confused or what? 1 and 2 o'clock are pretty hot, correct. I'm been using mine at about 5 o'clock because I must be careful with my throat. Also the better the grind, the better the result. And you must give the unit some heat up time. Mac bill I'm so impressed by your set up. I can't even get my adapters out and I'm still so pissed that I broke the recycler - but the Ed Wood is an awesome little piece. Why does everyone have so many problems with the bamboo?

Tomorrow is Friday Highday. And the week break helps so much; my tolerance goes way down. As much as I love the new solo nothing beats the beast!! I just wish I had more glass to pair with it. I'm looking at that coil cooler - I'm sure that will be expensive.

5 o'clock is just about the max temp, definitely not cooler then 1 or 2! Assuming you meant something around the 9-10 o'clock range? It seems a good starting temp is around 11 to noon. With most people that like the high temp vaping ending the session around the 3 oclock mark.

I'm confused though, did you break your side circ or your Doughboy recycler? Hoping it was just the side circ. And the issue could have had something to do with temperature. Glass/wood expand/contract. Not so sure I'd place the blame squarely on the construction of the side circ at this point. It might have just expanded a bit and needed a little coaxing to come free.

And it looks like VXL has the chiller attachment listed at $150.

Ok Roth you know how dumb I am at this - I always thought that 1 - 2 were the hottest temps so do I have that backwards? Is 11 and 12 the hottest it gets? No - I didn't break the doughboy; I would flip if I did that. It's so big and beautiful and it pairs so nicely w the beast. And what you said makes sense - maybe the wood expanded. But I tried soaking it all night with no luck. When I tried to get the adapter out the next morning the HT simply slipped out of my hands.

If I don't get my D020 soon I guess I will have to leave town w my adapters and my bong. Not my first choice but bringing the doughboy and the exhale is just too risky. One if them will surely break.

As always you are like so many on the site - so paitent with me because I'm just so new to this

Look at the front face of your Evo like it is a clock. Turned all the way to the left (lowest setting) would be about 7 oclock, turned all the way to the right (highest setting) would be about 5 oclock. I think most people start at noon (white mark pointing straight up) and go from there, though it may vary depending on grind, strain, etc. Best of luck to you, hope this helps.

I would most likely email them if I were you, when I first got the evo I was amazed at the vapor quality and production it produced compared to other vapes I've tried and had.

So it seems they are making their own HT-like vapor tamers now. I think the bottom female joint shouldn't be recessed in this cae like 7th floor ones. Especially when it goes on top of the EVO. That joint is very hot and also there are these heat exhausting holes. I think it would make the glycering warm up really fast and probably it would cause some thermal shock to the jointsl.

That just happened...
I've been refrigerating my hydratubes for a few years without incident. These new pieces look pretty sweet.
