Does anybody know where I could get aroma pads for the herbalizer? I just need to buy the pads and the $10.00 shipping from the herbalizer site is too much for just two small pads.

SImple solution: Buy a few more pads and a few balloons.

There, I helped!

Ok have asked before and got one reply hopfully more this time. How many overseas buyers of the Herbie have had break downs or blow ups etc? Thanks

There have been very few "overseas" buyers. A few that have, have had issues. One just needed a reset. One got melty. Then I think there were one or two other issues. I don't know that I'd risk it on my Herbie, despite the rational part of my brain understanding that -- as long as you have the correct equipment -- it is theoretically no problem. [We got into a whole discussion one day on power conversion.] But that probably has something to do with violation of the warrantee, even if something comes up non-power related.

My mothers herbalizer arrived today. :tup:
She is really excited about it, she hated the "pain in the ass solo".
She is really satisfied with the quality of the vapor and ease of use.
Maybe later i will get her to write about what she thinks of it, but right now it herbalizin time!

I have ran a few bags and I am quite happy with everything! I forgot how awesome having a bag of vapor is, it is a lot easier than direct draw settups like a cloud.

I will have more updates soon!

And I have to give a million thanks to @MinnBobber and the guys over at @VaporNation for their helpfulness and generosity. Everything worked out so well. :love:

Fantastic!!!
I thought that would be the ultimate vape for her , easy to use with great options (bag , whip, whip with fan assist) and immediate readiness to "Vape Like a Boss".

Tell your mom the "censored-combustion" bunch would love to read her review!!
Vape on.
Better yet, a video of her workin' a bag ;)

I find it hilarious that this thing costs over $700 and was "designed by former NASA scientists". Has nobody at NASA ever noticed that most of the world runs on 240v? How can you boast about clean design and custom technology, but then not even include a multi-voltage power supply on the board?

Am I really the only one that finds this crazy??

NASA IS located in the USA after all and it's the American way to think mostly of ourselves. But there are doubtless some CNSA (China National Space Administration) scientists working on a multi-voltage clone that'll cost half what Herbie does. :\

Yes I have asked the same question it is a total joke. You will think with what you have already mentioned, the loss of sales would be HUGE by not having a export model. I am soooooo pissed I can`t get one. I have rang them three times and spoke to three different people. One said January no problemo and the other two "no way maybe sometime next year", I cant believe there laxed attitude to a potential loss of sales. If it was my business I would have every bastard workin` till late to get it out.
On a side note that may have nudged me against the Herbie a bi,t is that you can get a dry throat easily on fan assist. I had forgotton I got one with the EQ on fan pretty bad. Does everyone that use there`s on fan assist get a heavier then usual dry throat? Thanks

@sweetherb -- I don't know enough about what you are talking about, but that is an interesting solution. I wonder how much more money and internal space it would have taken to do something like that. I know they were already working to get things smaller and had to toss some features. If something like you are talking about takes up too much space, then that may be the reason. But do you know how big and expensive a feature like that would be? I could see that being beneficial for a lot of vapes.

@jivebuggered -- I don't find the fan assist to be harsher than just pulling. I use it more than half the time to help me remember the optimal pull speed. Also, we have heard about your desire for an international version and your frustrations. We have rules to keep you from posting about it more than once without a solution. We don't want this thread to turn into a regular reminder of how pissed you are about it. Thanks!

....the loss of sales would be HUGE by not having a export model.....
In the end result, not every one actually cares about loss of sales. Some companies simply build a prospective profit "model" and are content to serve their own National market, and avoid the hassles of shipping, Customs, paperwork, and damages due to unintentional errors in voltage/system.
Personally I have helped Vaporists with issues and purchases, in 11 different Countries, because the companies of the various vaporizers involved said "NO". It was easy enough for me to sit at Post office and fill out some forms.
Were I actually in business, and had I a time schedule to adhere to, and a company to run, I might not deal outside of the USA either.
That is the beauty of our system. A person in business does not have to be forced... or feel guilty when deciding to control things in a manner they prefer (or if they choose to follow the path of least resistance).

*NOTE:
Prior to my injury and present status as disabled with plenty of time on my hands.., I actually was involved in an enterprise, that supplied Hickory Canes for mobility and self defense on Ebay. The requests for the item from other countries was huge, but after the first year, I stopped shipping outside of the USA due to time spent printing customs forms, and MANY other inconveniences.
Were I willing to use my time differently and make some adjustments... and continue shipping outside the USA, I could have earned 35% to 40% more money.
It was my decision at that time to earn 40% less, and save on the hassles.
With time in my life, I now send things outside of the USA freely!

I dont notice an unusually dry throat when using the fan assist with the whip, unless I'm running it pretty hot. It happens sometimes after I've been vaping for awhile, but I always drink a lot of water while I vape so it doesn't really bother me.

Also, combining the whip with the bong eliminates virtually all the "harshness" of the vapor. Add ice cubes to your bong, and it is cold and refreshing. I actually did this quite a bit when it was cold here, and my throat was irritated already. It really helped.

Hello all,

So far I have a lot of mixed feelings with this unit. On one hand we have the precise temp settings, with an extremely fast heat up time, but on the other hand the vapor production is awful.

After I got it I opened it up and turned it on I noticed there was a smell like what normally is present in new products, so I turned it to max temp, turned the fan on andlet it burn off a little bit. I did this until the cooling fan turned on (whcih wasn't too long after). I noticed there was no plastic sheet that covered the buttons and screen like I see on pictures in this thread. My buttons feel very cheap, and the fan button wiggles around as well. Does anyone else have this issue?

I packed a bowl and hooked it up to a few glass pieces. I was pretty taken back by the very little vapor production in the pieces, if any. I tried it at 290 and noticed a great taste, then went up to 350 to see if it would produce more, but it didn't... It still tasted pretty good. Back to 290 and the taste was there, but i felt that I was tasting something else as well.

I then blew a bag at 350, and it was decent vapor. I noticed that it was really harsh the last 2 hits, does anyone else find the first hits were smooth, but the last hits were harsh? I also noticed this unique taste which I believe was coming from the mouthpiece of the bag. I also noticed a taste with the whip.

There still seems to be a little smell, and harshness when I go to higher temps, but after a couple of days the harshness has gone away, which means there was most liekly stuff that needed to be burned off, and I'm wondering why there was no mention of this? Granted it could have been because I packed a LOT of bud in the chamber the first couple of times, but the harshness was unreal. I coughed extremely hard a few times, enough to pop something in my back. I am medicating for my back and neck due to being rear ended in a car accident, which left me with 2 herniated and 2 buldging discs in my neck. I am not here to be hacking and coughing while trying to medicate and hurt myself. This turned me off greatly.

I also saw a user post above about the concerns in the airpath. This also concerns me because of what I was feeling/smelling the first few sessions.

Today everything seems to be tasting great, and isn't really harsh at all, but I have been packing smaller bowls now. Either way, the vapor production is what I am extremely sad about. I would like to see some other people's bags, because I am using some great stuff, and my bags are see-through. It's sad that I spent 730$ on a vape that produces ridculously thin vapor. Support told me that my screens might be clogged, but how can they be clogged when the first use produced little vapor? I tried packing in all sorts of ways and the vapor just isn't good. I don't know what temps you guys use, but I tried all sorts of temps as well, and unless I'm blowing bags at 445 rightt away I'm not getting much at all. One of the reasons I got this vape was because it looked like it could produce serious vapor, but so far I am very taken back and not happy with the production at all. I also noticed the fan sometimes shuts off really early, which people claim is due to it being stuck. A little clogging shouldn't affect a vape so much, especially at this high price point.

I also am curious about new whips? I saw some posts awhile back which I cannot find, where people were posting better whips for sale. So far I am using the bags because I don't like the taste of the whip. So I would appreciate any advice towards that.

I also have a complaint about the bag mouthpiece, and how hot it gets. The mouthpiece gets very hot, and one time I put al ittle oil on a pad with some bud, went up to 445, and after blowing up the bag (with not much vapor) I burnt my lips on the bag mouthpece... Seriously...... Why does it get this hot? Medical patients aren't going to be happy with that, granted I did a bag today at 445 and didn't get burnt... I feel sometimes the bowl does get very very hot, even at low temps.

I also am very annoyed that the bowl can loosen up/if your bowl isn't tight enough and you turn the heat up/the fan on, bud will blow all over the place/out of your bowl. This happened 3-4 times to me already in a 3 day period. One time I also saw vapor leaking out of the side of my bowl when the bowl wasn't closed fullly....

I do love how fast it heats up, and I do love the precise temp controls, and the taste now is fantastic but there are a few things I'm just upset with. Spending top dollar and being upset from the start isn't a good outlook. My first vape was an Extreme V3 about 5 years ago now, I have also had a Supreme, OG Vapor Genie, and a VHW so I'm not new to vapes.

Are there any tips or tricks to getting good amounts of vapor? Could there be something wrong with my unit? The ABV looks good and evenly vaped, and the effects are fanstic and feels clean, but the vapor output is ;(. Yesterday the unit started making this clicking noise whenever I would start it up, whenever I would increase temp, and sometimes randomly. Then I noticed a similar noise to the video posted a couple pages back with a loud buzzing noise with the cooling fan. It seems to have stopped now. However yesterday my cooling fan was on for over 10 minutes (enough for the screen saver to come on). I had to close the lid and shut the unit off for the fan to go off, so I'm not sure how long it would have been on. I did not have the unit running hot at all, and any other time I went up to a higher temp the cooling fan would shut off within a minute or so (I also drop the temp down to 290 as per Engineer's suggestion when the cooling fan turns on). I'm not sure if this is normal or what, but Herbalizer support said nothing was wrong with it and that it stays on for as long as it's needed.....

It also annoys me that we basically are stuck with this vape if we don't like it. No returns, and if we sell it there is no warranty exchange? That's a bit ridiculous IMO, and I am upset that I feel trapped like that as well.

I really want to love this vape, and I really want to give it a chance, so I appreciate any input or advice that will make me a happy camper. I just spent a lot of money, hoping this was going to be the ultimate vape that everyone says it would be, and I'm not feeling the same way. I just feel for the price it should be producing amazing clouds, but it isn't. I am very thankful for the heatup time though!

Thanks

Mike,

How fine are you grinding your material, and how dry is it? I have found that a pretty fine grind produces the best vapor, and some amazing clouds.

I have had basically the opposite experience, you can read about it in my long post is back on page 200, #5000 I believe. I have some detailed instructions on how I grind up my bud.

Here is a pic of my glass full of thick vapor.

My bags are just as thick, or thicker. What does your fresh material look like?

@MikeRoOrganix

I think it's been discussed that the real vapor production happens at 400+. You won't get milky balloons at 290. You might get a light vapor at 350. Overpacking the bowl would likely make the bowl get hotter due to decreased airflow. I've never experienced the mouth piece on the balloon getting very hot. How do you feel after a session? Are you getting properly medicated? In the end that's what we're all after, at least I am. I hope your experience improves. If not, you could put it up in classified.

@Tex

I had ground them at different amoutns I guess, I actually heard originally to do a medium grind, so by your instruction I blasted my stuff with my spacecase :)

I'm glad to hear your experience is different from mine. Could you tell me/show me how much you pack your bowl? loose, or packed? Every time I packed it the fan made it all loose, so I guess it doesn't matter?

At what temp are you hitting in that piece? Fresh pack?

@Skeena

Thank you for that!

@Madcap79 Thank you for the useful information. I know I wont get anything at 290, besdies taste, but I was expecting a little more at 350, but I will take your word for 400+ and try a new bowl from there. Since overpacking causes it to get hotter, how much do you like to pack? I think what happened was I had some oil and bud so I had the aroma pad with some oil, so it got very hot.

I feel great after a session, very clean high, and I feel very high. I feel like I want to keep it at lower temps for better effects, but I do want nice hits. I will try seeing how 410 or so fares, maybe less. I definitely need the medicated effects, but I also was expecting bigger clouds, so we will continue to experiment!

@MikeRoOrganix

I usually pack somewhere between 0.18g and probably 0.23g of finely ground material in the bowl. I can post a picture, either later tonight or tomorrow to show you what my grind looks like.

I believe that hit was at 395. That was the 3rd or 4th hit on a freshly packed bowl. Also, regarding the temperature for best vapor production...I have experienced thick, milky vapor anywhere from 377 to 445 degrees in bags, whip, or whip/glass. For awhile, I was really stuck on 377 degrees. I think someone mentioned that temperature on this thread, but I can't remember. Anyway, its a great temp for some thick milky vapor that is pretty dang smooth.

You should get some killer clouds in that temperature range, and finely ground dry bud. Lately with this glass piece, I'm starting a fresh bowl at 395. Sharing with 2 others, we usually take 12-14 rips @ 395, tapping the bowl on the table after every 2-3 hits. Then I'll bump it up to around 410 for 10-12 hits. Then up to 425 for 8-10 hits or until it is cashed. Even the last hits still produce big clouds. The vapor in the piece is definitely not as thick at the end, but it only starts to get thin for the last 3 or 4 hits.

Everyone is always very medicated!

@MikeRoOrganix , I agree with everything @Madcap79 and @Tex have said (thanks for saving me some typing, btw!). Some more thoughts

-- Fill it loosely, not pack, up to the flare. And get that grind right.
-- Go straight to 445 and blow a bag. This will give you an idea of what to expect for max clouds. So many times a vape will be working fine but doesn't meet the 'off' expectations of the user. We gotta make sure you have the right expectations.
-- Always go by effect. I also don't get much clouds below 400, but the effect is always there. And lower temp effects are not as strong as higher temp effects, unless you do a lot more of it...they are more heady and clear thinking.
-- Clean your screens. This fixes most problems. I just cleaned mine because it seemed like my bud just got half as effective and I know I hadn't cleaned them in a while. They looked fine, too, but it doesn't matter. If performance is lowered, clean the screens. And I know you just got yours, but it sounds like it got gunked up quickly due to how you might have been packing it.
-- And this last one is huge for my use. After my first whip hit I always open up the bowl and knock off the bud that is sticking to the upper screen. When filling a bag, turn the fan off after about ten seconds and do this. Then go back to filling it up. Most of my bud is just sticky enough to stick to the top screen, and this is a session killer!
-- Any time your fan turns off before the bag is full you need to clean your screens. Swap the upper and bottom screens for a quick clean during your next session, but eventually this won't work and you will need to do a legit ISO clean.

Keep at it! Every vape I have ever owned needed some adjustment by me to get optimal effects...good luck!
