Log style vape - shipping to Canada

Hi All. I've been vaping for about 6 months with a MFLB, and while I really like it I am ready to upgrade to something that offers a little more consistency.

I'd like to get a simple plug in vape and like the idea of getting something made of wood/steel without all the plastic garbage. I see a lot of folks are really happy with the e-nano and the underdog "log-style" vapes. Unfortunately, I cannot find a Canadian site that ships them. I realize that epicvape ships to Canada, but it's a bit of a wait and I've been burned with duty fees in the past.

Anyone know of a Canadian site I can order one from? Alternatively, can anyone recommend something similar that is readily available in Canada? I'd like to keep it under $200.

The Arizer Solo might fit the bill for you, with the additional perk of being portable. It's not made of wood but emulates the log vape a bit.

Check out puffitup.com. They're a company that ships to Canada and that has a solid reputation and are well like around here.

@badandy

I have an E Nano and ordered from the States and it was just dropped off in my mailbox, no extra duties or anything!
Even the upgraded one that arrived a few months ago was also just in the mailbox.

If you want to keep it local check out Planet Vape! They have a great selection but no log style vapes.
They have awesome deal and you get a bag of munchies!! LOL!
If you are used to being portable go for the Solo, very reliable and very consistent!

As an owner of both the solo and two log vapes I wouldnt say solo emulates a log vape at all.

Awesome, thanks man! I see the smiley in your sig for the e-nano isn't quite as pronounced as your other vapes. Care to share your experience? I'm really just looking for a quality plug-in that doesn't have plastic components and is under $200.

Sorry I need to update my sig...
At the moment my Nano is my daily driver and I am loving it!!
My original Nano went in for a service as I was having difficulty with it, for some reason it was not performing as it should.
Andy replaced it with the latest version and it is working like a dream again! Back to being my daily driver again!

I love it dry or through a WT although lately the dry stem has been my go to!

This vape is simplicity in the purest form!
Virtually indestructible and super reliable!!

In its price range it is very good value for money!
All you need is the vape, a dry stem and a GonG to fit your WT and you are good to go!

Not sure of your location but I am in SW Ontario, if you are close a test drive could be arranged!

While you're free to try and avoid plastics, you're not free, at least here, to call it garbage. The types of plastics used on/in vaporizers are high tech and heat resistant. Some of the highest rated and most expensive models on the market use plastic. Using types of plastics that can't take the http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/getting-off-tobbaco.12631/heat would be self defeating (stupid) and it just doesn't happen.

As an owner of the Solo and 3 different brands of log vape, I'd say the Solo is very much like the log vape design.

I guess if by design you just simply mean they are both round things with stems poking out the top.

Another Canadian chiming in that I paid no duty on my E-Nano. Pretty sure the customs label said something along the lines of aromatherapy device and if I recall correctly the value was listed as lower than what I paid ($60 is coming to mind).

I'm with you and CK here, IMO very similar. In both design and function.

No, it's a serious comparison I think. Both are stem vapes, as is Hammer. Solo holds a bigger load for more hits before reloading and offers better temperature control perhaps, but they are, I think very similar.

Skills using one apply to others.

If the OP is considering another stem vape, I too suggest considering Solo.

Log vapes are convection and known for their efficiency. The solo is neither of those. I do not consider that it uses a stem to make it similar in anything other than looks.

But actually it is to a large extent convection (I've done measurements that demonstrate that factor) and it's definitely praised for efficiency. I assume you don't have one? Or read that Forum? We discuss these points a fair bit there.

I disagree, the stem use is a linking factor. The stem sizes just differ a bit, as do the materials. One holds on the order of .03 grams, the other more like .125.

If you're going to make multiple posts in an Ask FC thread, at least one should be on topic. Your 3 posts don't respond to the OP at all.

Get the nano. You'll like it.

Do my posts have to directly respond to the OP? Im still talking about log vapes and responding to other posters in this thread. I believe that to be on topic.

If anything the people who keep suggesting the solo are off topic because he specifically said he doesn't want a vaporizer with plastic in the OP.

You would be wrong on both those assumptions. I do have one and I have caught quite a bit of the solo thread. Not all of it because it is massive but I have at least read a couple hundred pages of it.

I disagree that the solo is to a large extent convection.

Anyways guys the OP doesnt want a vape with plastic in it so how about we try to get back on topic?

Well I thought that might be the case before I ran careful temperature measurements inside the load that showed without airflow the heat in the load never gets hot enough. I reported those tests there. Experience using it also confirms this.

And you might want to check your 'facts' again, there's no plastic in Solo's vapor production. SS and glass only.

You might want to check you reading comprehension because I never specifically stated that there is plastic that touches vapor...

Then please answer to me how a solo can completely cook through a bowl with out a single bit of air being drawn through it? I have seen it happen with my own two eyes twice.

My mistake. When you said:

If anything the people who keep suggesting the solo are off topic because he specifically said he doesn't want a vaporizer with plastic in the OP.

I assumed he didn't want plastic involved with the making vapor part. As I believe everyone (including you) understood.

By your new, expanded, definition seems to me that all the stem vapes have plastic somewhere? Like power cords and housings. So that disqualifies them all?

Then please answer to me how a solo can completely cook through a bowl with out a single bit of air being drawn through it? I have seen it happen with my own two eyes twice.

Over how long a period? And just sitting there?

Again, I assumed the discussion was about the unit actually used as designed. Silly me.

My statement still stands, in use Solo depends heavily on convection. And I've reported tests that show that. Not that I agree this is an essential feature of stem vapes anyway.

I think I get your opinions, I just don't share them. And neither, it seems, does anyone else? Solo is in the class and worth considering......that's my opinion.

Not at all. The topic is 'what vape should I get?'. Any suggestion is on topic, even if it's not a good suggestion.

Guys, to me, there is a world of difference in feel, and Spirituality, between a pure, simple, log vape
and one with plastics, and electronics, temp control, the whole nine yards.....

This, perhaps, is what the OP was also trying to say, in so many words.

Shanti.

Meanwhile, we have managed to "scare off" the OP with bickering about whether the Solo is a log vape emulation or not. That is not the purpose of this thread and our opinions are subjective on this. If everyone wants to debate the theory of the Solo being similar, take it to another thread. The OP is asking us what his options are.
