...the MFLB apparently needs 5A+ to operate, see the wiki FAQ.

The section of the Vaporpedia entry that you refer to concerning the power required to operate the MFLB referred only to the switch and was not meant to describe the operating load. The 5A number did come from magicflight but he wasn't trying to describe the full operating parameters of the LB. It was in the context of explaining why the Box itself did not have a switch. Here's the power information as provided later by magicflight when describing the Power Adapter: the basic demand load is about 0.75 volts with a current draw of about 15 amps, or about 12 watts.

I thought that I'd added the power requirements to Vaporpedia but obviously I did not. Apologies for the misleading information. I have (I hope) clarified the entry.

Just got mine. Batteries willl serve when there are no power points, but the adapter really makes the little box fly.
Think: permanently charged battery; on steriods when you want. Control the heat power - no more charring...
Another strong buy recommendation and thanks to the MFLB crew.

so doesnt it suck that i have a great PA now and have a tolerance now surpassing a month now, but that im willing to help out another friend on a t-break and that it wont get broken in till mid to late june?:lol:

yeah, it is what it is but I definitely look forward to taking that sobriety out the window on a fresh full keif load on a power adapter and most likely a small brand new glass bubbler (small)

i will definitely post a pic of the intended glass piece i use, might get it at the glass show this weekend in downtown lost angeles, anyone else hitting that shiz up? i hope to find some whips for the the mouthpiece to a gong atachment

I use a smallish bubbler with a gong adapter with my mflb. It works like a champ, and i also get to use it with my Woodeez, because the mouthpiece fits in the 14mm downstem without the gong adapter. That also, works like a champ and gets comparable milky hits to the MFLB PA hits. My days of near constant throat irritation from my MFLB are over. All i can say is def recommended, esp for the price i paid for my setup: $15 14mm GONG vapor adapter, $40 shipped bubbler.

I love the variety of options that you can use with the box: Bag, bubbler, whip, stem, native...its great.

For those inclined to make their own bubblers or use bags, it should be known that the cheap white Bic pens connect perfectly with the whip to form a slider. It's basically as airtight as any glass slider.
I assume this is just another example of the intelligence put into the box design, if not then it sure is a good coincidence. :)

With a box cutter, some care and a bic pen, you can fit about 4 slits on the end of the bic for diffusion. I put those in and put that little plug back into that same end and my bubbler now purrs.

Are there any good rechargeable batteries you would recommend me to use with the MFLB?

the best so far are the powerex 2700's i have a pack of 4 and they are working fine and i use them quite a bit.

never personally had any issue with batteries failing on me. you re protecting the ends with caps or a case when you carry them around?

Thanks man, I'll try those ones.

Hi Markus,
Does the white stick pen go through a rubber grommet in your bubbler?

Nah, no grommet, I made my bubbler the night that I received my MFLB. I just made the hole in the bottle tight and sealed it with some gum.

Those are probably LBs made from other woods. You might have seen a picture of mine. which is made from koa, and there's pics of a handsome walnut LB around.

The LB get one coat of food grade butcher block oil in manufacturing. You can apply more, but it's not likely to change the colour much.

The problem is that this is a device that you heat up and inhale from, directly in my case. Many of the usual options for staining are therefore inadvisable. The Googles can direct you to natural staining techniques suitable for food utensils. I know both tea and coffee are sometimes used to do this, for example.

When will the power supply start selling WITH the box? I really want to buy a Magic Flight but I'd like it with a power supply.

So buy both.

You don't think its ever going to be included in the package at its current price do you? Not likely when the PA sells for $60 by itself.

AFAIK the current PA purchase form requires a valid MFLB serial - so it was a two shipping step process for me - not entirely a bad thing since I got a chance to learn how to use batteries for portability and for power outages.

hello everyone. i'm new here, as of five minutes ago, although i've lurked here for a while before making an account. considering there are 425 pages and counting, i'm sure there has been endless discussion on the most efficient batteries and battery charger for the launch box. would someone be kind enough to sum up that discussion and give me the general consensus of the best batteries/charger? that would be greatly appreciated. right now i have the ones that came with my mflb and while they are fine and decent, i think i would benefit more from having better batteries. thanks.

the main consensus agrees on powerex 2700mAh for replacement batteries, as for chargers im not so sure on, the batteries should charge fine in the included smart charger, though i think the charge time is slightly higher.

has anyone tried the glass stems puffitup are now selling?

Seems like all of puffitup magic-flight accessories cost more than at blisssville, sometimes double!. Glass stem is 4.20 at puffitup and 2.95 at blisssville.

Where's the best place to purchase? I'm thinking about going through Amazon.com since I have a prime account (free two day shipping).

I don't think anyone knows, for sure, when the PA (production model) will be available period. When it is, I'm sure there'll be a kit w/PA included. You might save a buck or two buying in a combo, especially when dealers also get the PA, but you'll have to wait.

I've noticed the same thing, but it doesn't hold true for everything. While Blisssville beats Vapeworld's price on 2 battery caps ($.80 vs. $2.95), it's the reverse for the MF charger, with Vapeworld's price $8.95 vs. $15 at Blisssville. I guess it pays to shop around for MF parts and accessories.

I just received the order of the power adapter and im pretty sure this has been said many times but it is the perfect accessory for the LB. Im really impressed with the design and the heat adjustment knob. Works well with LB's with the bulb because the light also changes in brightness. They even added a button so you dont have to apply pressure to the battery. Cons: It may just be me, but it seems to fit a little too snugly in the LB making it slightly hard to take out. Not detrimental though.
All in all a great investment. Once they have the auto adapters back in stock Im pretty sure batteries will be dispensable.

*I take that back, the contact end seems to fit snug as to ensure contact.
