MiniVAP Vaporizer

@jivebuggered -- I think it's your expectations. There isn't a convection vape in the world that doesn't need the weed to get hot before it will start producing vapor. That requires a hit, or for the chamber to sit for a while until it heats up from indirect heat. Herbie is the same...the second hit is always more fulfilling. So was your Extreme. Somewhere along the line you got the expectation that the first hit from a vape should be mind numbing like a bong hit...and that ain't how it works. The effect takes a few minutes to set in. Even conduction vapes don't hit as hard on the first hit as the second. Your first hit draws the heat to the center of the load and makes a bigger second hit. You've also been wanting the fan assist to help you out. If it's because of weak lungs, then that makes sense. But even a fan assist unit is going to need to run for a second to heat the load.

I'm trying to help here, so I hope I'm not sounding dickish. But you have what I consider to be one of the best vapes in the world, and I have owned or do own most of the other ones you have been chasing. I think you would be best served settling into this vape and getting it working to your satisfaction...even if that means you have to change what you are looking for a little bit. Every time I get a new vape I have to find its best method for use for me...even the best ones.

We're here to help...good luck!
Well stickstones I will have to see you and others on the Herbie thread down the line. It is with GREAT regret that I have put my MV up for sale on Gumtree. As some other member mentioned maybe convection vaps are not for me. After the second shitty night`s sleep due to crook guts it will have to go. A real bummer because I just got it firing really good and got me really plastered AND I got a decarb kit made only yesterday (by the way jury is still out whether it makes a difference).
My lungs are ok its the technique at using convection vaps (as before) that irritate my diaphragm, just the whole process of the initial draw to "stoke the fire" so to speak which leaves me with painful wind pain usually at night.
Not much use swapping with overseas members due to transferring problems, postage costs, etc. I could turn on a Herbie here and it could blow up, who knows. Apart from I think one member only replying there was not enough overseas owners of Herbies to give me feedback whether they had trouble just using a power converter? So bring on that Herbie export model!! cheers

I was following this thread for quite a while and I finally decide to pull the trigger.
But prior to that I wanted to know hows the taste of Minivap compare to other convection vaporizers. I quite like the taste of first hit from E-Nano, Solo, Air, Vivape2, and Firefly, but the quick degradation of the taste is very off putting. Could any Minivap users can give me comment on taste of the Minivap compare to the other convection vaporizers. That would be great! Thanks! :)

What the Minivap does with taste and flavour is kind of hard to explain.
It just keeps coming and never really degrades into anything foul tasting.
If you read the thread you will quickly realize that it is this feature that makes this vape so amazing!
The ability to extract actives while maintaining the flavour and taste!
Amazing device!

Can't wait for mine to return to me!!

Sorry to hear that @jivebuggered -- to each his own. I hope you find what works great for you.
Thanks buddy. I would just love to know and I know you have some listed here but would really love to know the vaps or vap you REALLY like the most. You have so many must be worth a small fortune by now. I always seem to have to sell mine to get another but there are many like yourself to have to hang over the fireplace LOL

I don't think he would say he really likes this vape if he didn't mean it, I think you probably need to look in the direction of something that puts out good hits easily. Maybe a bag vape. Maybe vape thru water? Have you tried minivap through water?

Really can't wait to order mine btw

I follow and post in the threads of the vapes I am using. So if I'm posting in a thread, that almost always means I am using it, and if I am using it I like it. I have very little patience with poor to average vapes and they don't get much attention from me, wth the collection I have at my disposal. So when a vape comes along and immediately inserts itself into my regular lineup (like the MV did), it's a real damn good vape.

I think @exit is right that a bag vape might suit @jivebuggered just fine since it requires no priming and is already cooled down some. But I think he has already had an E, so he has that experience under his belt.

miniVAP maintains good flavor throughout the session better than any other device I have used (many). Much better. This is probably it's most unique quality
Third this... I can only compare it to the canon/whip style vaporizer I used for years, but the flavor is remarkably robust and persistent throughout the entire session.

Ok yes that`s right had EQ and I think someone said the Herbie was better then the EQ in the fan department?! I had a S/Surfer which I waited almost a month for USPS to send from the the "docks" in LA when I did get it I wasn`t over impressed. I found that also had high air to vapor ratio. Funny enough a mate has one and it performs better he put it down to the way the glass is hand blown and the alighnment of the air holes etc?

i have used many vapes but the SSV is probably the highest air to vapor ratio vape i've used! maybe you just need something with amost no air to the vapor.... try a solo! or the indica which is mostly conduction? maybe a log vap.

Is it true that they will release new version soon?

I'm almost, maybe.. Perhaps waiting on this too.. Second Core Syndrome.. I think in essence it's all kinda down to a firmware thing.. I believe the current models going around all carry the same version of firmware.. (3.2d_on) according to an order slip I got a while back.
Having said that Hermes are a strange little company. In a good way I guess.

They're supposed to be releasing a new version this week, I have to say, I'm not impressed with their customer service, I've got one on order and I've sent 3 emails which they've not replied to, I've also tried ringing a couple of times, once I had the phone slammed down on me and they've not answered since! Pretty worrying when they have nearly 500 Euro's of my money!

Do you have a source on this? It would be interesting to know whether it's just a firmware update or new hardware.

Is there a condition for checking "Track your package online" symptoms?

I swear I check it 20 times a day only to see it spend a whole day in each location!
Watching my MiniVap seemingly limp its way back to Canada is quite upsetting!!

6 days in LA and it is finally in Louisville...

I think it's called Obsessive Compulsive RefreshClickTrackPackageOnline Disorder. There is no known cure, I'm afraid.

That's fucked up! Every time I have them send me something from Spain they send it on Friday and it gets here on Monday.

I'd settle for an answer to one of my emails asking when they're going to send it, I can't believe how bad their service is, I'm wondering whether I should be contacting the credit card company to apply for a refund?

Most times this has to do with using a bad email address that is actually on their website, unfortunately. I've never spoken to Jorge in Spain, but we email regularly and it can sometimes take a few days for him to get back to me. It sounds like you are having a worse go at it than that, though. I don't think your $$ are at risk with this company, but the occasional communication gaffe definitely is a regular problem.

Hey all!

Just wanted to share with you some exciting news! A fellow member of this site was kind enough to lend me some MiniVAP parts so I can create a custom Silicone WaterPipe Adapter!

The parts have been measured and I'll be printing the first casting mold later today. The part is designed to cover the top of the MiniVAP

Here is the 14mm WPA version (1/4 cutout to see the inside)
jUz2MM6.png

And here's what the molds will look like (1/4 cutout again to see how the mold looks inside)

If all goes well, this part should be available sometime VERY soon (one or two weeks from now)

Seems to me that you are missing a seal on the top illustration. I am pretty sure the lid itself will not seal on the miniVap body.
