Can you tell the difference between a indica or sativa by vaping?
Most strains are hybrids, and I cannot tell the difference in the effects most of the time. Can you?

Taking two factors that greatly affect the effects, vape temperature and trichomes maturation, out of the equation, yes. With hybrids it's kind of hard to tell if their 60/40, but it's supposed to be balanced. An 80/20 is pretty easy to tell which way it leans, to me at least.

I can tell the difference between the effects I feel but not whether it's indica or sativa though it's easy to guess I suppose...

The strain I have right now makes me really hungry and lathargic if I do eat but energetic if I don't end up eating, maybe more of a hybrid. The strain I had before made me feel creative and aroused (sorry if TMI ), probably mostly sativa. I do keep all of my strains in the same container so it's fun to guess. :)

Most of the cannabis I vaporize is hybrid, I like more indica than sativa and can usually tell which way it goes if it's a hybrid (using same setup). "Real" indicas can still have a sativa-like euphoria but not much else, I know some sativas with no "high" ceiling where I keep vaping and getting higher and when I come down I don't feel tired like with indicas. Speedy and with a "rush" almost as opposed to the heavy-eyes from some killer OG.

I keep an Underdog 24/7 on kitchen table. I change whatever is in pile there. Nothing makes this Pappy more happy then when my daughter stops over and "Can Name That Tune (err bud)" I live 30 miles from a clone dispensary in a Med state so I get to rotate strains regularly.

I can definitely feel a difference in effects but not sure how much of that is strain specific.

I had some skunk+white widow cross and effects were very "indica" like. I know both of these are hybrids but the effects were really weird and extreamly distinctive from anything else I have had. It would give a very weird buzz and then would straight up knock me out.

Compare that to this chemdawg I have (also a hybrid), chemdawg is more euphoric and wakes me up. Really sharpens the senses.

I guess its the age old question nature vs nurture. Effects of both differ GREATLY but neither is a indica or sativa both are hybrids.

If you vape NL one day, and Haze the next, I don't see how you couldn't tell the difference.

(Properly harvested, handled, vape temps, etc., all being equal)

well.. yes and no.
yes, I do notice a difference in effect between strains/batches. but as you already said, there is no clear indica/sativa divide. and to add to that, how it's grown and the time of harvest also have an impact(for example I personally prefer a more sativa-strain, grown outdoors, harvested a little early). this is harder to notice when you buy, since you usually don't know much about how it's grown, but of you ever have a plant yourself you can easily test it out: harvest, trrim and dry 1 bud early(when the buds look well, plenty of crystrals, but only clear trichomes, no cloudy trichomes at all), and then let 1 bud on the plant longer, till there are mostly/only amber trichomes, and if you compare those 2 buds the effect will probably seem like 2 different strains.
but vaping does complicate matters since temp also matters, although in my experience difference in strains/growing/harvesttime seems to make a greater difference as the temp of vaping, but both/all have a noticable impact.

p.s. I do have to add though, if you would give me a hit/some hits from a vape, and then ask me to describe the effect and how it differs from some otrher strain, I wouldn'tr be able to answer you. but if you give me a supply for a few days-a week, so I can vape it on multiple occassions, in varying circumstances, I will get a feeling of what is specific/typical of the effect it gives.
