Custom Glass Ideas/Designs Thread

This is the closest thing so far. I own it and it's cool and all but the hit is much different than a normal fab egg

not to fear though folks because I'm working on getting a knock off of the normal spherical mothership Faberge egg produced. The one pictured in @VJJJV post is a straight egg and will be produced somewhere down the line.

All the biggest hits should be coming in time. It's true anyone can contact someone trying to get something produced but it's not as simple as you may think. I have put a lot of time and effort into making this happen and if you just wait some great things are coming. No need to start contacting all the same people I already did asking for a specific design just because it hasn't been produced in the less than a week that this thread has existed.

Patience people, things are already moving at light speed

I know. That's why I've been working with you instead of having gone off on my own and had to redo all the initial communication work with foreigners. I was saying for the people who feel like their ideas are getting turned down or are being overlooked, they still have options. No need for anyone to get upset. Not when we have something awesome going, and picking up speed much faster than anyone would've expected.

I assume a straight faberge like the one I posted should be easier and faster made. Cheaper to produce and thereby not as expensive to buy as a consumer. Then more people would understand the system and be willing to buy the more complex expensive versions.

Can someone post a pic of the FC 187--I've been thru the pages several times and see references but no
pics or drawing of it.

Thank you

No, I have not tried a pillar with recycler. I still would buy it.

so that 242 with the can... you gona have to fill that a lot prbly to get the water to recycler, at that point the matrix is gona be rather hard to pull. I mean that chamber has to be smaller, most likely. Also the can design doesnt really help with forcing the water into the tubes towards the 2end chamber.

So I figured it be best to just make a 3D model to best show how it works, later I realized had no clue how I would make those curvy tubes and well here I stopped.. And yeah I tightened the top of the can, that way less water is needed and the water is more likely to be forced into the tubes. All in all I think it's a pretty weird design though.. idk how I feel about it yet..

I kind of like this aesthetic, although I'm not sure how it would look completely assembled. Visually, I honesty like the cylindrical clear cans with matrix percs, and think the most recent rendition and @oli's markup looks pretty good. I do agree, however, that the design needs to be tweaked slightly though in order to force the bubbles into the tubes.

What I think would be amazing would be a slightly shorter can, about 1 1/2 times as tall as it is wide (so ending at around the bottom of the top tubes in oli's most recent image), with the matrix perc in the exact center. This would make the can much shorter and ensure that the bubbles stack directly into the tubes instead of popping in the perc can, which will make it more likely to vortex even with gentler pulls and, again, should preserve more flavor. I personally think the symmetry of the round can against the subtle asymmetry of the differently-placed tubes at the top looks good, and if you couple'd that with a centered matrix perc it would look super sexy.

I'm guessing a visual of the centered matrix would really sell the idea, and I'd draw it up if I had the photoshop skills. Unfortunately I really don't. @oli: would you, by any chance, with your impressive photoshop-fu, be able to tweak one of those images to show what I described? That way we can all take a look at it and see if it's as good an idea and as I think it is...

Happy to do some modif on the design but would be nice to see a rough sketch of what you mean EXACTLY, I think its pretty clear but so its all 100 % clear ;)

I was just thinking of dropping the top of the can a bit and slightly lengthining/increasing the angle on the arms to reach the recycling chamber. I think if you dropped the top down to about here it would probably center the matrix perc vertically in the can.

My only concern with this design upon looking at it would be water bouncing up the downstem a bit as the vortex chamber drains and contacting the bottom of the connection. Some recyclers bounce more than others, it really just depends on the design. I'd suggest an external joint instead of a Dewar to compensate, but I'm concerned that might kill the aesthetic a bit... Dunno. For those of you with the original 242, is there much bounceback on the water level in the downstem at the end of each hit?

Thanks @oli!

The pieces will be released when the factory has enough time to produce 100 for sale. He has other orders to work on to that are between 500 and 1000 pieces that have been paid for. Since our glass is being made on the speculation of sale it is being made on the side when his works have time. Hopefully it will be ready in the next few weeks.

I'm having him make prototypes and once they are approved they are produced for sale. It might take a little bit for some of these to get made but trust me they are coming.

Next is Mothership klein. Would you guys like to see an ugly teaser picture or wait for the improved one when I get pictures of it.

Also I have never seen that piece suggested by @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd but it looks cool and a possible contender. If you guys want it made and would actually purchase it please cast your vote by liking the video posted by @Mister G

So here is a rough copy with adjustments to discuss (I have made 03 with a cone can, could it help?) Bearing in mind the arms been ugly but hey its a sketch :)

Do you think it is possible for them to produce a true Reti Perc in a GB-187 or FC-187 form factor? Always wanted to own a Reti.

I've been eyeing this guy lately, but it might be too advanced for them yet?

Just an idea

Could only find one video of this piece in action.

I'd wager this guy is a 4.0 fan, :)

@oli you are going to be a big asset to everyone with your photoshop skills. You should try to redo the last pillar posted by EverythingsHazy with a neck that comes from the top instead of the side. I would like to see people's response.

Here is the first prototype klein. Next one will be all clear and with bigger base plate. So it's not really ugly like I said

A bigger base and all clear and that thing will look just about perfect. Sexy :brow:

Do you know how tall it is? And is it an 18mm female?

@Tweak I wouldn't say that's too advanced for them since it is just a hollow base with a Showerhead perc in a second chamber. I used to own a piece like this. You can keep the hollow base empty like the guy in the video or add water to add a natural chug mixed in with the Showerhead.

IMO it's not that great of a rig. If you use it without water in the hollow base you are just exposing the oil vapor to more glass instead of water. If you so use water down there the chug is not super pleasant. Plus the curbed white tubing will get gunked up quick and will not be super fun/easy to clean :2c:

It is 18mm female just for you guys. I honestly think 14mm should be the standard but many of you seem very reluctant to spend the money on a new 14mm gong or nail even though they don't cost that much and would solve all your problems.

Before I started having customs made I just got every size gong male and female. That made any piece an option. If you want to save money and still cover all your bases buy a 14mm male and an 18mm female and a 14 to 18 low profile adapter.

Thanks!
This is purely a guess, but I think a lot of people like the 18mm female vs 14mm female because if you want an 18mm female to be 14mm you just use a reducer which doesn't add any height. However if you to change a 14mm female to an 18mm female your adapter adds an inch or two in height and some people may not like that extra height added?
