Owing to the praise the MFLB has received I purchased one from puffitup a few weeks back (still waiting for it, but I'm in the UK, so hopefully it'll arrive soon).

I'm probably going to be sharing it with friends and wondered how much scope there is for this using the stock batteries that come with the unit. Would it be reasonable to assume that one fully charged stock battery will suffice for someone who isn't a regular user?

I should confess that I've only smoked once in my life (last year) and loved the experience. Music and food were particular highlights. Anyway, I haven't gone back to it because smoking wasn't for me, but I wondered if vaporizing with the MFLB will produce some of the things I experienced during smoking, e.g. will it affect my taste buds in the sense that, although the sensation of eating was amazing, my ability to perceive taste was dulled?

I've seen a few videos and read some ideas about the best methodology for using the MFLB effectively and the advice tends to vary, but is there a particular method of using it that would be best suited to a novice who wants to get more out of music and food but doesn't want to end up feeling too heavy and wasted? I realise this is also contingent on what goes in the MFLB. There is a popular video on YouTube of a woman reviewing the MFLB (if you type its full name into Google or YT she should be the first video link) and the way she uses it looks quite elegant. Would that be a good method?

Thanks
Seems no one got a chance to answer you. I'll keep it short and simple. The batteries you get with the MFLB will be totally fine for you.
There are many different methods for taking hits from the LB, but the most important thing is that you (1) not burn the bud and (2) not draw too hard (if you see movement in the trench, you're pulling to hard).
Onto the actual effects. The MFLB is the single most efficient way I've ever consumed cannabis. Granted I don't have as much experience as others here, and this is only the 3rd or so vape I have tried, but I think most will agree that the MFLB is in the top percentages of pure cannabis consuming efficiency.
Anyway, I had been smoking for quite a while and there was only so much effect I would get from a joint or something. With the MFLB, I can't finish a .1 trench. Maybe I can, but I am literally on my ass. I assume this will go away over time (:() but so far the effects have been very extreme. Since you say you've gotten high once, I strongly suggest it take it nice and slow with your MFLB as it WILL put you on your ass. Figure out how to work it yourself before sharing with friends; friends have a nasty habit of doing it wrong :)

I myself combusted last night, my mom FLIPPED :) Good times await you Quite Earth.

i heard it was going up to 120 a few months ago. finally happened i guess. hope it doesn't dissuade too many buyers. it's still worth it at that price.

damn... the price increase does kinda suck.... I was thinking about getting another one to give as a gift.

I wonder how magic flight justified the increase... especially when there were plenty of people complaining all along the way about the LB being overpriced for a "piece of wood" at the $100 price.

oh well...

----

anyways... Is there a way to get the short stem?... without buying a whip?

and for those who have the regular whip, is the 1 foot length long enough?... or did you guys wish the longer options were available at the time?

thanks

While the 'just a piece of wood' argument may be valid it's totally worth it. Think about what people spend on 'just a piece of glass,' differences aside, there is little difference. This thing will pay for itself in weeks, maybe months.

ebay has them for $99. still so go get em while theyre cheap.
i got mine there newest style i also got 4 batteries , 2 batt charger the whip also.

you can cut the stem for the whip.
i ordered a EDStnt maple stem and i cut it down with a finer hack saw blade the same size as the whip stem.

edame: I think the MFLB makes a great personal vape. It's not well suited to using in groups, though.

No worry there then, for my indoor use only. :ninja:

Hoping I can order one next week once I get paid.

I've placed an order for the Beta Power Adapter; it feels like something I should've done months ago. :ko:

I've owned more than one MFLB all of which are thoroughly good. Something that isn't thoroughly good is changing batteries all the time and/or getting variable hits from undercharged or dying batteries.

It is especially true if you primarily use your LB indoors, and perhaps stuck in a bean-bag chair :uhoh:. Buying batteries are a bothersome problem that I should soon be able to write off completely.

I'm gonna put in an order for glass stems and probably get a 2 footer... I dunno if I'd need 3 feet of hose... the basic one is long enough, really... I guess it would depend on what you're wanting to do with it.

I agree, I think 2 feet is more then enough, I would probably then cut that in half, and that is probably what I will do :) I'll get a glass stem as well, plus battery caps

Is there any specific gravity that you all are limited to when working with wood? Are some woods too hard?

Hi,

Wood with a Janka hardness rating of 1500 or more tends to require some serious special processing (we do not process wood in terms of specific gravity). Anything above 2500 is basically a no-go. There are some extreme exotics that go as high as 4000 however.

For those who have been asking, the PA units that are being shipped at this point are basically production units. We have not finished setting up the purchasing system for them, so things have been delayed there a bit. Should be fairly soon now to get that done.

There are also plans in the works for making various kinds of water-pipe adapter specifically for the Box. This is our next project. With any luck, they will be available by late summer.

An official wateripe adapter would be so stellar... Like, wow that just kinda got me stoked. I'm such a nerd haha.

EVERY vape needs a water pipe option... People love em. True story.

Is there any specific gravity that you all are limited to when working with wood? Are some woods too hard?

Good morning Learner, its hard for me to say what is to dense and what is not, I work different species in various different pieces, some maybe to hard to make dugouts, some maybe to soft for pipes, the harder they are the easier they spin for me, some of the most dense pieces spin really well into stems or tubes.

This I do wanna say, I have had to hire 3 more hands to help me with production. Its a hellova lot of steps involved in making any of my wooden products. One of my people said they have never really paid any attention to when they bought something that said it was "hand made", and now they see how many hands it takes just to make a wooden LB Stem and have gotten a serious appreciation for anything that says "hand made in the US". I have to order my lumber from Oregon, have to order so much to keep the cost down, shipping is hella high, I get the wood in rip it up, chop it out, mark it, bore it, spin it, chop it again, sand it, fit it, sand it again, fit it again, may have to repeat this step a few more times, then butter it, this is just stems. I offer a hellova lot more than just stems and all is done by hand. I had to listen to some one bitch about cost yesterday, I cant afford to do all I do and give it away for nothing. I cant speak for MF but I know materials are gettn more expensive, help aint cheap, and good help is expensive. I know people look at the LB and my stems and say they are just a little piece of wood and shouldn't cost that much, but it takes a lot of hands and a lot of time to make magic happen.

I dont know if its the right business tactic to tell clientele that support your business that you had to listen to someone bitch about price yesterday. Some users just dont have the means to buy everything they like and considering that theres probably a 5 dollar shipping charge added on, it can become rather costly for some. Now, on the other hand I can totally appreciate the work put into these stems and the quality is fantastic. They give off a great flavor, they show durability, and the handwork that went into the 13 dollar stem is in my mind unparalleled. I appreciate your work Ed and look forward to buying many more stems in the near future.

I'm quite skeptical about 4600 mAH but I'm wishing you luck.

Hi,

We were skeptical too. There are certain physical and chemical limits that more than just hard to overcome. However, we are not perfect, so in the interests of communal knowledge we ordered a set and put them on our battery analyzers. The results are not good. Really not good. The batteries had a measurable average capacity of 190 mAh -- much less than what was claimed. Completely useless for the Box.

We also found out that these batteries are not actually made by Sony. In fact, Sony Corp had absolutely nothing to do with these batteries at all -- the branding is completely stolen and abused. Sony has been notified and is not happy about it (very not happy). It is fairly likely that Sony Corp will implement an aggressive lawsuit against the makers of these fake batteries. In the few places that we have found ourselves in a similar position, we have done the same.

Do not buy these batteries! Any battery seller/package that claims more than 3000 mAh storage capacity in a AA package is probably deceiving you. Stick with trusted brands -- MAHA, for example -- and be sure you know who you are dealing with (stay clear of Ebay and Amazon!).
