Underdog Log Vapes

I need to see it rude, what dog number was it on the site ?

Mine is #16533 "Goncalo" there was a jobillo shorty(#16999)that looked sweet too, minutes after putting in the order for the goncalo I thought of picking it up as a gift and missed out on that one.

Is it the one with the spot that made it look like Jupiter (to me) ? That one sure looked tiny, and gorgeous ofcourse, I had been eyeing it as well, thought someone would snap it up sooner

I can see the equatorial Red storm spot in it too, such character in a small piece of wood.

Now I want a shorty :/ maybe I'll just have a custom travel dog made soon

I have a 'litter' of shorty Pups that I'll be finishing up once we return from traveling.. keep your eyes out and maybe one will strike your fancy.

Haunted by the choice. I should be saving every penny right now because I have some stupid big expenses coming up...But I know I'll be buying one at some point, so, as a Dutchman, it pains me to see savings pass by.

Just saw the notice on your site; safe and pleasant travels!

Ah, yeah, I can relate to the conflict of needing to budget and save every penny but not wanting to.. :ugh:

On the WET! Coast of Oregon
Greetings from the WET! Coast of Oregon.

This is my first post at FC and thought it appropriate to do so in this UD thread as it is the reason i joined FC. I've been reading for a couple weeks and found loads of usable info. Sunday night i ordered the "Madrone" UD (and got confirmation from UD'ette Monday morning of its shipment. WOW! great service.) While it will be used as a Vape for sure, i'm also going to have it going for Aromatherapy in our home as i'm burnt-out (yea couldn't resist) on resupplying our candle based aroma bowls with candles. The UD in AT mode will be a nice addition.

My wife and i also have two other vapes, an Ascent and a Titan II. Both have been good to us beginner-vapppers (so far regular dry herbs for health & wellness).

My gratitude goes out to the FC forum crew & members for posting lots of quality info.
Thom

a random PS... our "Home" is comprised of three RVs. Yup, we live on wheels. Currently at a golf resort on the WET! Coast of Oregon. Or big-rig is a 40 foot toy hauler so those pleasant aromas from the UD will easily find their way to all corners. Our "Adventure rig" consists of a full size Chevy AWD van conversion and a 15ft fiberglass trailer we take off road and off grid on forestry trails and such. (image link to rig:

a PS on the PS...thinking through the portable power supply for the UD...if i ever want to really party down by the river (my wife's hobby is Gold Prospecting) i can just hook up the UD to her powered sluce box's 12 volt battery ;)

Hey Dave and fellow Underdog pack members, haven't been here in a long time and thought I'd stop in and say what's up. I've been using my cocobolo pup exclusively since I got it. And I mean I haven't used any other means of getting high, at all, for the past 8 or 9 months I've had my pup. I've been using it almost every day, too. I can't imagine smoking ever again... Still haven't figured out a portable setup, but it hasn't been a priority of mine. I love the hits I get from my pup.

Thank you very much for existing and working as hard as you do, Underdog and Underdogette!

I dnt wanna ask something thats been covered, so my fault in advance. Are those new steel tips compatible with UD's that have a 2012 core? Or am i stuck using the silicone.

Sorry but they won't. With the classic core (made before May 2013) we are stuck using the silicone or glass stems that slip over the core. The SS tips need to be inserted into newer redesigned heater core, can't be done with the classics.

Ahh, i see. Am i missing anything from not upgrading, or is it mostly a cosmetic difference. I love my dog and wanna stay on the cutting edge

The only real difference i see between my old core and my new Dog is really that I can't use the nylon stem and SS tips with my older ash that i can with my new little one, with the old style glass stems/silicone bowls I feel it performs the same.

I do love the nylon stems with the SS tips in the new one though, it still freaks me out a little that they take so little herb for such huge effect but i found i can do loads that small with the silicone if i can only remember to load that little in a stem(if that makes any sense).

I don't think I could ever truly"upgrade" from my first older pup, from here on in i can only add to the family.

EDIT EDIT; It's totally worth your while if you can adopt a new underdog too, my older one is close in size to a 12oz can and my new one with the new core the size of a 2oz shot glass(a little smaller actuallly).

Just wanted to drop in and say that after hours and hours (literally... I should have been writing papers) of searching and reading through this site I decided on the Underdog! I have a mflb and love it - its simple design, wooden body, and the company is just great.

But I wanted a desktop vape and after lots of research it seems like the UD is the big brother of the launch box!

I went with the Ambrosia Maple. I'm so excited! :D :peace:

I'd like to announce that I've created a Best of the Underdog Vaporizer thread based on selections that @Magic9 was good enough to suggest. Note that the information in some early posts is no longer correct since the Underdog has been improved over time. I also encourage all of you to nominate the best posts you've read here. Read How the "Best Of" threads work for details. Magic9 has reviewed only the first 129 pages so far, and I'm grateful for that work. I'd really like to see more volunteers—yes, multiple—to review the whole thread. I bet you'd be surprised what you learn. Also, never assume that all the best posts have been found. Opinions vary, and no one is perfect.

Just ordered the Movingui UD on Friday.....gonna be a long week :ugh:

I feel ya! Everything I read makes me suspect that I'm going to be blow away with this thing.

My only concern is that I didn't order a VVPS - even though it's been said that like 90% of users don't need them, it seems like they are discussed an awful lot. I figured I would just wait and see how it works without one first.

I suspected I wouldn't need one, if only because most of my experience with vaping has been through a MFLB and a FireFly....I'm used to no temp control so I've got a decent draw technique.

Do you have a water pipe to use with the GonG attachment? That honestly was like a huge selling point, I've been vaping heavy but I missed using water, so I shelled out for a bubbler to go with this bad boy, figured between that and the FireFly I'd be covered but idk...I've got the itch :p

mine both work great with the wall wart that's provided, a vvps would just be another fun toy for me but in no way a necessity. As @HellsWindStaff suspects draw technique, which is just how hard/soft and how long you draw along with what stems and screen placement you use will give you great control over your vaping experience. Pretty sure You'll be happy with it's performance out of the box.

Remember practice makes perfect ... and goes without sayin' practice with the UD is loads of fun.

I do, yes! I went all out with my MFLB because I have been using it exclusively for close to two years. So I have the power adapter, whip, and then my own water piece that I used with it. I'll just be able to use it with my UD now. But it's kind of small... it's actually just an ash catcher with a j-hook attached to it.

I actually wanted to get the UD because I wanted to get away from having to rely on water and all these other hookups to get a big punch. And I just love the idea of "functional art."

That's a really good point about draw technique - you really have to have one with the LB. Maybe my history with other vapes will allow me to get by without a VVPS.

Maybe I should get a new water tool? This one is kind of small and old... but the UD was supposed to be my Christmas present to myself...

This may spiral out of control.
