Arizer Solo

I spent a long time with it. After spending $300 I wanted it to work. Maybe I got sold a fake one.

My mates have spent time with it too but gave it back as they didn't want it.

Stinky your 1st post stated you had bought a solo that was used 5 times . So did you personally use it 5 times or buy it used ? Also $300 is allot of money for this vaporizer. They go for $130-$200 Brand new with a warranty. This is a pretty proven machine as there are 1,257 pages on this forum with tons of happy users. Either your doing something wrong or got a fake/used unit. I would check back with the person you had bought it with and see if you can get your money back. I'd also recommend purchasing a new unit from a recommended vendor or Arizer direct. You will be much happier and have a full warranty.

Maybe you need to use your warranty and get a replacement. Hopefully you bought at an authorized vendor? There's a 2 year warranty on the unit itself. A I year on the battery. I wouldn't keep it if it's not performing the way it's suppose to. It sounds like you have some problems. The PVHES mouthpieces from Planetvape helps with any draw restriction if it's an older model.

Good luck.

I bought the unit new. I have used it around five times. My friends have tried it a few times.

It was retailing for $300 3 years ago. I am not going to buy another one. I am happy with my digital Volcano and was happy with the Mighty before the issues.

That's 3 yrs ago dude. It's now allot more affordable. You prob got a fake unit or even possibly a unit with a bad battery and this could be why it's not working great. i would not give up , try for warranty or try picking up a new battery. Like i said this is a proven machine and you even said so yourself while in Amsterdam.

How do I tell if I bought a fake unit? It looks identical to the unit I tried in Amsterdam.

@Stinky I would send it in to Arizer. You maybe would even get a newer model? If it's been after 2 years your out of luck anyway.

You were mentioning that you were uncomfortable sending your unit in because of the area that you live. I can understand that. Did you say you live in Australia? Maybe you can ask around if others have sent their units through the mail there here on FC?:2c:

I am unsure but i would do what CarolKing is saying. Also if its been sitting for a few years with no use it could very well be that the battery has gone bad. Try a new battery , they are not so expensive or call arizer direct or email them with your serial #'s and they will let you know whats up. Here is there contact page - http://arizer.com/contacts/

Thanks for the advice guys. I haven't worked how to multi-quote yet.

I'll email Arizer as I want to know whether it is fake or not. I am not interested in having it replaced or getting anything for free.

Others have said that they have returned vapes in the post here in Australia. The bottom line is that I am personally not comfortable with doing that as it is illegal to prohibited substances through our postal system. I understand the risks are minimal but personally I do not feel comfortable breaking the law and posting about it on the internet.

But you did get satisfactory results , when using it in Amsterdam ?
Just Not on your purchased unit ?

What wasn't the same ?

I had one toke at Baba in Amsterdam and it tasted fantastic and produced a lot of noticeable vapour. When I received the unit I bought it did neither.

I just emailed the serial number off to Arizer. I'll let you know whether it is a fake or not.

Stinky you should have no problem mailing it back. Its actually marketed as a aroma therapy device and if sent back they would not need you to send the stems with it , just the machine. You can use a q-tip with a little alcohol to clean it 1st.

In the 70's we rolled everything.
Çheap!
Acres of cannabis $10 for 28 grams.
Vaporizer did not exist.
I use a solo these days.

If your young just roll joints.
I understood. It and yes in the 70's we rolled everything. It was a big thing to get a bong. As the owner of an exhale which is a pretty awesome vape I am finding the solo a good match for portable and quicker use.

Us older members remember lots of things. Landlines, cassette taps and rolling machines. But if you just stick with it you will find that things do work with a little practice.

Ok so I am old for this audience. I remember working with Typewriters and Microfiche and listening to music on records with big holes in the middle.

I use a solo the most.
The nano before beď.

Joints I miss however can't handle them any more.
Bongs I never got the hang of?
The new glass with smaller mouthpieces and a vaporizer keeps it fun!
My needs are medical these days.

YMMV but here's my AU$0.02:

Never heard reliable reports of "fake" solos. At about US$145 via Massdrop to Sydney, they're probably not expensive enough to knock off. AFAIK, Arizer are widely regarded as being unusually reliable in honouring their warranty.

Incidentally, if the oven heats up when you run it at level 7 for a few minutes, it seems hard to understand why it might not be working well for you assuming you have good quality herb and inhale slowly. If the oven is getting hot, the resulting slow flow of hot air will inevitably extract the good stuff in my experience - it's just physics!

I do not feel comfortable breaking the law and posting about it on the internet.

Not something to boast about on Facebook using your real identity for sure. Use the Hola (free) plugin http://hola.org or a VPN (about $5/month) to hide your ip address when you post and it will be impossible for the Brandesian metadata police to track your posts.

Others have said that they have returned vapes in the post here in Australia. The bottom line is that I am personally not comfortable with doing that as it is illegal to prohibited substances through our postal system.
If the unit is covered by warranty and you live in Oz, Arizer will likely ask their Oz reps at http://www.australianvaporizers.com.au/store/ to get in touch - they'll ask you pay for postage to them and they will pay the return on the repaired or new unit - at least that's what happened to me about 18 months ago.
Don't mail used stems! Not required for warranty repairs and they tend to stink - possibly enough to attract a trained dog. If it's well used, it's not hard to clean if you're comfortable (or can find someone who likes tinkering!) taking the covers off - a few minutes with a can of compressed air will remove any residual solid ABV around the battery/circuit board compartment in the main body and some isopropyl alcohol on a lump of cotton wool will remove left over condensed material from the oven and the aluminium covers before transport. If it's not sticky, it's probably not stinky!

ok so i'm finally tired of using my SOLO+tinywaterbubbler+silicone gasket thing(rigged up its safe). The SOLO deserves better! The hits are satisfying but the whole operation has to be held a certain way. I'm ordering the d020. I'm not sure to go with the d020 or the d020-d? Should I go GonG or WonG? where is the best place to get the adapters. I'm hoping opinions pour in. :brow:

I got the D020-D. The Ed wood adapter is really good but it got stuck in my evo hydra tube - it still works but the side circ HT is a goner and I contacted evo about it. I also ordered the PV adapter. Everyone seems to love this D020. They certainly are cheap enough
