You could try some hand sanitizer on the GonG and scrub it with a brush. It's worth a try. That's suppose to get sharpie off of things. Try those erasers for walls too.

EDIT
Those glass pieces are not cheap to buy and have shipped either. I agree I don't know if I would want to inhale at a high temp with that black on it.

They said there's nothing wrong with it and they are hand made so they will all be different. They told me to soak, what they said is a guide mark for the cut, in ISO overnight to remove the black but it didn't even touch it. I don't think it's ink, and the mark is deep in the glass and off to the side of where the air slot lines up. Can glass burn black like this from being cut?
Whatever it is, it should not be there and the glass should not have been shipped out like that. If it's not coming off easily, you should get a replacement at no cost to you. They are responsible for QC, not you.

I'm feeling the same way honestly. If it is Sharpie I'm not thrilled with the idea of putting it into a heater an inhaling it slowly over months. I could understand Sharpie being left on the surface of the smooth glass but this is where it has been cut out. I tried hand sanitizer and carburetor cleaner and it didn't change it at all. Took a lighter to it and nothing. I'm gonna contact them again tomorrow, thanks for input everyone.

Uzer: You did what was asked and then some. You're entitled to a new one or a refund. So far my customer support experience with the retailers and suppliers on this site and in this industry have been way above the norm compared to other industries. I have a feeling this is going to turn out fine. Please let us know how this works out. Good luck!

It's disappointing that a person can't go into a head shop in my area to buy a Solo mouthpiece. They have all kinds of glass pipes and bongs and such. Pieces that need to be lit on fire not vaped. The news of vaping cannabis isn't being spread fast enough IMO.

A year or so ago I looked all over my area to buy a Solo mouthpiece. I couldn't find any. It was even hard to find the Solo. These store either don't sell them or keep only a couple on hand at a time. Nobody sold the Solo stem seperate.

Order online with overnight shipping. It's expensive.
So today I decided to do a little investigation (and I needed a new grinder). The head shop I stopped in not only carries Solo stems (at 15 bucks a pop!) but replacement power cords and batteries. They also have a great selection of vapes-and this is a different shop than the one I picked up my Solo at. The salesperson and I ended up talking about the Solo- she's a new owner. We talked about loose stems and I referred her here- because you guys know all!

I actually had a similar experience recently, I stumbled across a sick head shop that actually has a good variety of everything, and now I don't have to order all my grinders/vapes/parts online
Who knows, maybe I'll try to get a job there?

Edit- Oh yeah and I should be getting an Air stem soon for my Solo, can't wait! (The Air stems seem easier to clean to me)

Edit2- (reply to the people talking about sharpies)
I worked in an auto-show specific display production shop for a few months, and we used to use Iso diluted with water in spray bottles to quickly clean any cut markings we put on our aluminium/steel stock, I can't imagine that what you're dealing with is sharpie if nothing like ISO can clean it off.. :2c:

Wow! Most cool. Kudos to the new owner. Care to tell us where it is? It's a long shot, of course, but if such a shop was near me I'd sure like to know about it. Good place to 'vote with your wallet', we need more such shops and less of the other kind (but they are, of course, better than nothing).

I strongly suspect she would not object to a few more customers?

I remember years ago I bought a nice Sony portable Short Wave radio from a small shop (Pakistani I think?) at lunch. I showed it around work and a workmate wanted it, so I took his money and went down the next day to buy another for myself. Another guy from a different shop then came by with 'I saw it, can you get me one?'. The third lunch in a row, as I bought the next one, I apologized for not having bought all 3 at once. The owner smiled and said "it is my sincerest hope you will do so every day". What an insight! My value to him was on the come......

As often happens, a week or two later, another 'friend of a friend' request came. I walked through the door, the owner looked up, smiled broadly, grabbed another radio and waving it around we both broke into laughter.

It's also dissapointing that done of the Headshops seem to have any knowledge of Vaporizers beyond their own product line. (today

I accidentally posted that sentence and my point was/is does anyone think that Arzier (as a company) does a poor job of promoting its products? The only reason that I heard of the Solo (or found this forum) is NBC's Hannibal (Lawrence Fishbourne used the Solo in one of the second season episodes). Prior to me seeing that I was all set to purchase a Pinnicle Pro at the advise of the "stoner" employee at the headshop.

I see Puffitup has a sale on Solos $135. Code: SLL. Last Minute Christmas sale, need a second Solo? Do you need your first? A very good price for a quality portable vaporizer, free shipping. If you have a problem they pay for return shipping and no hassle returns. Best service online for vaporizers. I go with Puffitup when I can.

Turn a friend on to a Solo.

Not particularly. And I bet their sales numbers reflect it? I think they made a conscious decision to keep a low profile (what with pretending it's for aroma therapy and all), I bet their lawyers advise against big public efforts? Many vape companies share this I think.

As to the LHS guy, he's going to talk about what he knows.....or maybe what he sells?

Isn't that the way it is? I've been planing of giving a Solo to the Brother-in-law but instead decided he'd really take advantage of the Air for stealth so I ordered him one at twice this price. It's crawling toward customs (I ordered a day or two back).

And I already have more Solos than I can use.

Then again, the BIL is a good guy, he married my only remaining sister after all, maybe 30 years back. Not only still married by they raised a niece (just had her first child) and nephew (now working his first real job after graduating), a pair to be proud of for sure. Maybe not a big deal where you are, but in California it's pretty rare.......

Now I'll have to think if there's anyone else I know that deserves a Solo of their own (that I haven't badgered into getting one already). A deal (almost) too good to pass up..........

Thanks for the 'heads up', Lady. I hope our fellows get on board.

Getting a solo as a present would be a nice one. I can't wait till I get the bubbler.

I bought a solo that has been used around 5 times. I can't even give it away to my friends.

I personally don't rate the solo at all and was very disappointed.

Definitely not my sort of friends.

I'm sorry you don't like Solo, it seems to please lots of folks. Lots of other choices, better luck next time.

Some people seem to rave about it others not so much. When I tried it in Holland it was just like you guys describe. When I got home and bought one the product was the same but didn't produce the same effects. I paid $300 for it as well.

I moved on to the Mighty. Hopefully they fix those problems soon.

I'm in the Midwest (and we're still non-medical so I'm happy to PM more details) and in the Bible Belt, so I'm surprised how spoiled for choice we are with head shops. There are two within walking distance of my house and five within a 5-minute drive. I'm not even counting the myriads of e-cig places that we have that also sell decent glass.
I had to work today, and once I got home, I fired up my Solo and used my f-bomb. Right before my second session ended, I knocked the f-bomb over onto my bed. I snatched it up and patted for the giant wet-spot I knew was there, except it wasn't. I think I'm in love. :)

I'm not sure what the issues that you are talking about? I think there are plenty of vaporizers to please the masses. Each of us have our preferences and I'm quite happy and so are plenty others. The thread is over 1200 pages so the Solo is doing something right. This unit was upgraded just a year ago with better airflow. I have more than just the Solo to compare. I have several portables. I think most of us are looking for the same thing to...... Fuckcombustion:leaf::peace: I'm not sure why you want to waist your time visiting the Solo thread?

Happy vaping with the Mighty.

I understand in a couple of states you can now get married. And then get Federal benefits.......

Sorry it's not better law wise (hopefully that will improve as the idea catches on), but sounds like you've got a support structure to envy.

How long did you spend with it before you made that decision? I find im the opposite of A LOT of FC members when it comes to initially having an opinion about a vape. A lot of people say,"im impressed, or im a___ (insert medicated rating number here)" Then down the line they point out its flaws and such. im usually the first to say a vape sucks around my peers. Then when I learn it, "f**k yes!" I will always stand up for that vape in conversation no matter what new ones I get. It takes time to learn a new vape. Trust me, when in first got the SOLO I really didn't enjoy it. Then, I found out EXACTLY how to use it and all facts about smells, warm up times, all the time tricks and enjoy it over most of my vapes. If you're new to vaping, give it time. If not, same answer: give it time. The SOLO model has been around longer than any other model(portable) than I can think of at the moment. They did some updates, mostly to please us. Not for cost. IMO.

I find the Solo an easy vaporizer to use. There's not much of a learning curve. After an initial charge of 8 hours + it's good to go. if you are a recreational or a medical user you can enjoy the true taste of the herbal vapor that you are experiencing.

PVHES mouthpieces are not necessary unless you choose to use them. I like them because they are stronger than the Solo stock stems. I like using the PVHES shorty stems from PV, you save on product that way.

We all have our way to use the Solo and sometimes we change things around. I like using a WonG as a mouthpiece too. @Ed's TnT makes great wood products and it doesn't break.

You're right, it is very easy to start vaping with the SOLO, but I like to use my vapes knowing im being efficient. So It takes me a little more time than most to be satisfied.

Hey guys.. Looking for a back up inexpensive vaporizer. I'll receive my solo tomorrow and in case something happens I don't want to go back to smoking

I spent a long time with it. After spending $300 I wanted it to work. Maybe I got sold a fake one.

My mates have spent time with it too but gave it back as they didn't want it.
