i use the hammer top and turn it on ..cigar puff till i see vapor
then when i do while its stilll on i take a deep breath, press the button off then on again so it doesnt auto shutoff, then proceed to take my hit...pulling slow and steady for about 15 seconds..

repeat till medicated, then 3-5 10 sec cooldown hits

Are you using a 3.7v or 7.4v rod? Though I'm sure that technique works for both.

7.4v rod....have yet to use a 3.7v..

basically i never unpress the button for about 20-25 secs
since ive recently acquired a hammer top, its much easier on the finger lol.

on another note...my v3 top is blinking when using anything but the herc or the globe w a 18650. if i use the globe w a single 18350 it blinks. if i use a 7.4v kiss...it blinks. put the herc on..it fires.

EDIT #2
cant wait to get my hands on a v4!!!!

Would greatly appreciate the advice. Since I am living at home with the folks, I have a few hours a day to get the Hercules going. I am opening the Hercules from the box. After going thru the threads, I will take it apart. I will boil the metal parts and ceramic donuts, ISO the outer jacket, and let everything dry.

How long do I have to let it dry before I can fire up the Hercules?

I have two black ceramic kiss 3.7 kits in ISO right now? How long do I need to let it soak?

Wipe down the Hercules and dry fire it. Firing it dry will get rid of all moisture. Why are the 3.7v kiss in ISO? Cleaning them from use?

Pull the parts out of boiling water.. I use a strainer. I shake the strainer gently, dump all the parts onto a towel. When they are cool enough to touch, the Herc may be assembled, I reassemble the Herc and hold the button until the rod is glowing red hot. This does 3 things: cleans the rod, checks proper operation, and gets all the water out. Only after I know that the Hercules is working properly do I put the coil in and then load it with concentrate.

The KISS carts are at your discretion: When they are clean to your satisfaction. I let them soak in a zip loc bag so I can hold the baggie in hot water. This seems to speed things up, maybe I'm imagining it. Use a toothpick to wipe excess oil out of the cup,, rinse with fresh ISO, let dry overnight.

Hey chronickiller7 ,

How is the Hercules going? Why didn't you use 7.4 if you have the herc

I am using the 7.4v rod. Its been great this evening. Not using the bottom adapter or the black sleeve. A good buffer is really important. Also I like to let the oil completely cool down before taking another hit. I find I get the best flavor and hit size this way.

Appreciate the advice. Hope you are on the forums tomorrow if I encounter trouble.

You are not imagining it.
Warm alcohol is significantly faster at dissolving the goodies.

If were you to do an alcohol extraction on plant matter for the purpose of making hash oil, then warm alcohol would be bad.
Warm/hot alcohol would be faster at dissolving the things we want, but it would also dissolve the waxes/chlorophyll faster.

Ps.
Another tip
If you need to clean your bong put a small amount of high proof alcohol of your choosing inside. While covering the downstem with your thumb(or cork or similar so as to seal it) run hot tap water over the outside of the glass for a minute.
Shake and watch all that reclaim just melt away in an instant. Makes much faster work of it and no need to use salt or anything like that.

If it was a vapor bong, or oil bong, now evaporate the alcohol completely and enjoy how you choose. Waste not yada yada.

I'm taking apart my hercules sr74x right now.

I took apart most of it including the springy insert. I am having trouble getting off the screen in the mouthpiece. What screwdriver do I need?

Secondly, I only have one side that has the white Teflon circles. Do I have to pop the white circle too?

I'm trying to use the manual, Gary's video of disassembling the sr74, and the help of this community. Please help out a newbie and need to speak to me as if your talking to a. Second grader.

Thanks for your patience with me.

I use a dime to unscrew the retaining ring for the screen.

I've always removed all plastic, including the Teflon inserts, before boiling.

Thanks so much. Dime works perfectly.

I found the double sided white Teflon piece. What is different in sr74x than the sr74? (Since they use the same manual to use on w9 website

They both work the same. The only difference is heater rod placement. The top chamber on the sr74x is shorter. Also the original sr74 has a threaded top cap.

I'm starting to run out of my oily-wax, and will be picking up some shatter in a couple days. Is it ok if just switch over to the shatter from the wax? Should I just dry burn and reload? Or should I do a full cleaning?

How has the Hercules been for you. I finally u boxed and will boil the pieces now. Any pointers you would recommend for a brand new hercules user? Things you may have had trouble with, easiest way to put it together. Thanks

Take your time in finding the sweet spot...

To comment on the hot iso wash, my rigs that are small enough and heavily gunked ill fill with 97-99% iso and microwave for 15 seconds. Its been safe at 15 sec for me with cheap thin glass, but just got informed of that trick a couple weeks ago.

Nice. I boiled and put the Hercules back together and got 2.3 on the tester from w9. Do people put one or two of the titanium donuts in the Hercules? It looks like it was designed for 1.

If by donut you mean Ti coil, then yes, I use 2 at a pop. It seems to help me control drainage into the lower chamber.

If you are referencing something else, my apologies.
