Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

I really dont see how pouring ISO in your bamboo is going to clean it anyways. If you take a water pipe pour some ISO in, shake it up, is it really going to be clean? Usually needs some scrubbing action which is basically impossible in the middle of the bamboo (where alot of resin collects). I use my cloud probably alot less than most of you, cleaned it recently and when I took it apart to repair I was amazed at the amount of resin in the middle part.

Enjoy your ISO flavored bong resin hot chocolate I guess :puke:

When my bamboo got dirty I just had it replaced by vapexhale. My Evo had started smelling nasty and I didn't want to pour stuff inside my Evo. Vapexhale did it for free although I didn't like how it started smelling up and I couldn't clean it all myself.
It doesn't taste like iso if you evaporate the alcohol and water off, i used 99%, so im fairly certain its safe.

Hey guys! So, after being a little underwhelemd by the herbalizer, I was thinking about swapping it out for the Evo (I was also suggested to look a the E-nano but I have a feeling I will be more keen on this).

So I had a couple questions. I dont know much about massdrop (I got my herbie from TouchofModern to save some green), but I am gathering there was already a pretty sweet one that happened a few months back, Hydratubes and all. You guys think there will be enough demand for another one? And if so, what should I look for or not look for to come with it?

Leading from there, I was curious about the Hydratubes. Understanding that I don't "need" one, I think it would be nice to start rather than hunting down something else with a compatible opening. If I want something different later we can get to that. But after perusing the tubes, I'm unsure which I should want? The little charts do alright, but it still makes it difficult to know which ones perform the most ideally. Any thoughts?

And yeah, as someone who already owns a Volcano and an Herbie for desktop vapes (and been curious about glass, or preferably, vape-glass for a bit now), any further info that you guys think I should know would be great.

Oh P.S. I'm also fixing to use this for concentrates (if possibly, more concentrate than dry herb given how competent my other devices are with it, but I imagine the Evo would get it's fair share of dry herb use as well).

If you plan to do concentrates more but sometimes weed than I would think the evo is more up your alley. If you want a concentrates oriented device go for an enail or something.

A massdrop might happen again but I would not count on it. Usually there are warranty issues with that and you don't want to end up with a vape without warranty.

Maybe before you get too involved looking at accessories decide which vape seems best for you first? The nano is a considerably different device the Evo and they both have their own benefits and weaknesses

I got a bit of a weird situation with my EVO. During the first minute or two of warming up with the dial all the way turned up, I get a blinking red light. If I power down and power back up it heats up as normal with no blinking. Is there any idea what this could be?

Got my second Evo thru massdrop, after one use ,it began smoking out the bottom and was sent in for repair. Absolutely zero problems with warranty from vapexhale. I had to send in my first Evo for a firmware upgrade before I ever bought a second one, it's because of the dedication this company has to its product and it's consumers, that I decided another Evo was safe to buy from Massdrop. Oh , I also own a Herbie, still waiting for a reply to the second email I had to send out, didn't reply to the first one, I'd fill out a warranty form , but it doesn't want to recognize my serial number. Own a Volcano also, digit and classic, never a problem with those. ..Two evos, two volcanos , guess which vape I won't be owning two of.....

I was more curious to hear more about how it stacked up to the e-nano overall (and I don't know comparatively much about the e-nano), but yeah, I did like how it had some specific accesories to accomodate concentrates (thanks for the new tutorial for the vapexnail t-dub!).

But yeah, please don't say "enail" :p . I actually tried to post in this forum about this new vape-ape globe I was looking to try, and battery wise and function wise it was great, but I think I discovered enails aren't for me from it. I called them multiple times inquiring about the burnt rubber fiber-glassy taste, asked about those wicks the coils were wrapped around (I went from a regular sideways tornado thing to a double tornado), and it just never stopped tasting and smelling terrible. I tried pulling the whicks out but that was a disaster and I ruined my nail. Either way, I got the impression I had been inhaling something dangerous like fiberglass for months on end and it discomforts me...so yeah...no enails...

I wasn't sure if this was in response to me, or anyone...but so can you divulge any more about the previous massdrops, if there is an upcoming one, and what a good massdrop package for this would be (as opposed to a less good one, which I'm noticed there may have been).

Please don't call the Vape Ape an e-nail. It's just a generic e-cigarette exposed coil being marketed as a cheap oil vape pen. There are much better portable oil vaporizers than the Vape Ape, similar in form but much higher in performance and without the fiberglass; and then there are serious desktop e-nails like a D-Nail, which don't have a single thing in common with e-cigarettes.

Has anyone come up with a good way to weigh the Evo down and make it less apt to fall off a table? I use a Mobius Ion and a slight tug on the power cord or interconnecting vapor tube will send it sailling to the floor. And the Evo is not the most durable device.

For me, a more flexible power cord was a good solution. Something like this works well for me.:2c:

Will switching the cord void any warranty? I usually leave my evo on the floor just because I know how prone I am to knocking it off the table.

No , not if it's the same type of cord .
I've switched mine with an old PC cord .
It has more flexibility and a much better fit
to the EVO .

I stopped using the evo for a week as I've been enjoying my Alpha and Firefly, and I just went back to try a flower ELB:

I can't stop coughing... and the taste is hot and harsh, my bamboo isn't cracked or anything, I guess I just never realized how much of a toll on the lungs and throat the evo takes...

Nope. If it fits it'll work. Stu's suggestion of a flat cord, vs. round, is exactly what I use. Definitely offers more flexibility.
Dry tube, I presume?
I would hope so. With HT or other glass, using water, the EVO is as smooth and easy on the throat and lungs as any vape I've used.

Agreed.

For me, all conditions right with the herb & temp, it's like breathing in fresh air - right up to the last bit of vapor.

Amen. It's just perfect, every single time.

A VapeXhale portable would be the only thing that might be able to pry my Crafty from my grip. I know there was always talk of one from back in the IGG campaign. I wouldn't be surprised if something's been in development for a while. Now how far into the development cycle, who knows.

Would love to see VXL in the portable game.

Well I have still been using my evo beast but I am learning and enjoying the solo more. The xhale is still great but even w my big recycler and lower temp it's still a little harsh. The solo is way quicker to heat, way easier to turn upside and is way more portable and travel friendly

I was really sad when I tried to pair my solo w my evo side circ. I used an Ed wood adapter that work fine in reclyer and I was hoping that the small WT and solo would go well together. Instead the adapter got completely stuck in the evo WT and I tried everything from soaking to heating the rim and had no luck. It slipped out my hands this am and broke and that was no fun. So now an expensive water tool is down the drain and it was the correct size 18 mm but sometimes shit happens.

I think I am enjoying my solo a little more right now but they are 2 great devices. And I'm getting a new bubbler soon from DH gate. It just that the side circ is a nice peice and I don't know why it gobbled up the adapter.

Few pages back I posted about noticing vapor/hot air escaping from the bottom of the bamboo when using the EVO inverted. Did some more testing and I think I now know why. This will not come as news to most here I'm sure, but I'd thought I'd pass it along fwiw . . .

After taking a hit, there is a little residual vapor left in the ELB/upper chamber. If the ELB is packed, less will escape. If the ELB is spent, hot air instead of vapor. What appears to cause the vapor/air to escape is back-pressure from the HT. It can occur if the EVO is left in the joint after the hit, i.e., I've noticed some users process the hit and then lift the EVO and clear the tube - a two-stage draw, if you will. However, if you clear at the end of the hit (so it's one draw) and slowly lift the EVO as you do, the pull will take the rest of the vapor from the EVO and there is no back-pressure.

It's not a big deal, I know. But OTOH some of us pay hefty $ for top quality flowers (I should be so lucky) and losing any of that vapor is probably not desirable. Additionally, escaping vapor will eventually soil the bamboo bottom chamber.

I have a EDS wooden stem and it fits my 14mm water tube, but not my 18mm pieces. The Hydratube you had was 18mm, all Vapexhale tubes are so i don't think your EDS stem wouldve fit either way

I think the evo is 18 mm. It fits perfectly in the doughboy w no adapter. And I just used Ed that is 18mm in my doughboy w the solo and it fit perfectly and worked perfectly. So I'm pretty sure my side circ was 18 mm. And I even put them together before I used it and if fit perfectly and came out perfectly. Maybe it was something with heat. At least the adapter still works.

I have to admit the ease and quickness of the solo is very nice. I nicknamed my evo the Beast way back and her name is BB aka baby beast. And she is living up to her name. I think I read a while back that someone wished there was smaller more portable version of the exhale. I think the solo is as close as you'll ever get.

No way. The Crafty/Mighty already have the Solo/Air beat for heavy hitters. And that's just what's on the market now.

And your side-circ was absolutely 18mm, any hydratube you use with EVO will be. It has to be unless you're using an adapter of some sort.
