this is the website I got everything from.
you'll need:
Pid. (temp controller)
female xlr 4 pin. (power outlet for coil)
led button. (on/off heat to coil)
toggle switch. (on/off power)
female 110v power port.
power cable.
20mm heater coil.
18mm domeless quartz nail for a 20mm heater coil.
solid state relay.
I went with 40a but I would recommend a smaller one.
16 gauge wire.
aluminum housing. (lots of cool colors)
ask for them to program the Pid and also ask for a wiring diagram

Any special reason to go with a 20mm coil instad of a 15.8? Just wondering because I am about to order and googling the topic just got me more confused ;)

Edit: Joint size ... I maybe should've spent a few more minutes actually reading the Info :)

Aw heck, posts like this are why I try to stay away from FC... TY/FU to
@Herr_Dampf . Just put in my order...

Omron PID controller - 79.99$
20mm coil w/ male xlr - 45$
aluminum case - 23$
female xlr - 3$
16mm illum. push button - 8$
rocker switch - 3$
8amp relay - 4$
power cord and female power plug - free (already own)
---------------------
Total 165.99$ + shipping

Saved some money by ordering the 20mm coil which will fit my existing he nail, and by getting the fiberglass corded coil instead of the kevlar. Also could have saved more by using my own enclosure and ebaying the little parts. But the enclosure for sale has all the cut-outs already made..so lazy beats cheap this time. :)

So my dnail arrived. It is fucking epic! Such perfect taste, so easy to use, even works on my mini-rig without feeling precarious...

I will warn everybody that the direct inject pukinbeagle 20mm quarts nail, whilst tapered, will not sit particularly well in place on an 18mm male joint. Luckily, I had forseen this and am using an 18mm male to 14mm male adapter to save my piece from the heat, this also raises the nail to a good height right in front of your eyes.

I had the DIY dnail together in 20 mins flat, had my a quick couple of dabs of what was left on my dabbers from last time, then left for a very busy day at a music festival. First of all, the dabs were delicious. I have been dabbing this top notch, clear enough to read a book through THC bomb QWISO shatter for ages now, and nothing has ever tasted as good as this. See below for pic of said shatter.

My nail isn't even fully seasoned and it tastes better than anything else I've ever dabbed.

I would heartily recommend this product to anybody here, and am so stoked with my purchase.

Once I get round to buying a Mighty, I don't see a need for any new vapes/enails in my lineup :D

I probably will splash out on the 20mm Hive Ceramic nail when it comes out though lol

Here's a shot of my rig with her new adornment :D

Definitely interesting, actually kind of an appealing concept. I don't get why there is a glass mouthpiece on the vape hooked up to the water tool though.

I see power bank but no AC cord. They can call it a desktop but if it doesn't run on AC it's a portable on FC.

Indeed it seems to be a battery-station-powered transportable desktop vape! There is a charger jack on the power bank and a listed battery capacity (4x Li-Ions judging from the nominal voltage, don't know if it's 4Ah total or per cell though), a rather unusual choice isn't it?

I hope it can work in pass-through mode too but the FM's don't support it, so I'm not holding my breath.

Li-Ions are great! They hold up better over time than Li-Po and are far less volatile (i.e. they do not combust!). Regarding transportability, Li-Ions also weigh less than NiMh:)

@Soflo -- Do you have any idea if the 20mm coil will work with a Santa Cruz Shredder Omni Nail?
And did you have to do any soldering to put your kit together?

Thanks again for your help. Hopefully putting one together sometime during the holidays.

I have no idea with the titanium nail. I got the domeless quartz nail from that same site with mine. It was like 40$.
Soldering.... yes I had to solder the wires to the mini xlr connector and the led button. I also soldered the tips of my wires for all off my connections..
that mini xlr is a bitch....
get your wire stripped and fluxed, then heat the solder on the wire and let gravity pull the silver down the terminal your wire is touching.
try and only strip a small amount of insulation off the wire. It'll help. I used 16ga wire and cut the count in half where the insulation was stripped.

Just took my first e-nail dab, on a unit assembled today, from a parts order placed a week ago, inspired by @Soflo.

Surprised how little soldering was required-- at the xlr/mini-xlr/aviation jacks (5 connections). The pid has screw terminals, and the power ports have tabs for crimped connectors. The included relay is easily replaced with one that comes with a base with screws. 5 touches with a solder gun minimum, unless you want to get creative.

Silver - I think the coil diameter is matched to the OD of the nail. So my 21mm HE nail is a tight fit on the 20mm coil. What's the diameter of the Omni?

Since I went with the larger enclosure, there's some room to add a feature or two. Like a circuit with an adjustable sleep timer to cut power to the coil in case of dab coma. Or remote power on/off... or....??

Do you do large dabs? Just wondering.... if I set my temp down that low I end up with some pooling even with a carb cap.

Soflo,

canj00digit?

All my days in a daze...
@herbivore21, you were asking about the ceramic nails from Domeless.com and the side carb slot.
The idea behind it is to increase the low temp efficiency. You dab, then cap with sealed carb cap, then the only air that can be pulled in comes through the carb slot in the hot wall of the nail and then passes over the dish where you just dabbed on it's way into the intake tube. It actually works really well in my opinion.

But I think it's sort of a low temp feature and not needed nor really desirable probably on a traditional enail.
When I get one for a traditional enail setup it will be without the carb slot.

He is going to be coming out with a ceramic carb cap that stays on the nail and you just dab through a funnel. Then the hot air is pulled down the funnel straight into the dab puddle you just laid. Looks interesting, I am going to pick one up when they come out.
